  1. Oh, guess I should've elaborated more on my end anyways lol. In SFV I'm very interested in Nash and Rashid, although I currently have no way to access the beta (no PS4 and my PC isn't good enough to run SFV apparently). In Tekken I'd say I main Hwoarang, although it's kind of a poor man's Hwoarang if anything. In Skullgirls I play Beowulf and Cerabella, with Big Band and Valentine as subs. In Marvel, with my limited time on it, I've scrapped together enough competance to play Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Dante, Akuma, Deadpool, and Taskmaster, the first three probably being my strongest.
  2. I noticed that there is quite a few Sm4sh fans out there and while I do enjoy playing the game as much as I do watching it, I'm a much bigger Street Fighter fan at heart. I was kind of disappointed to find that there was no official Street Fighter thread or anything, but I understand why that is. Smash just has a lot more popular and recognizable characters than Street Fighter. I mean, people recognize Ryu and Ken, but there's probably over a 90% chance that casual spectators would not know who Dee Jay, Adon, or Cody is. But, that's where this thread will come in! I (and hopefully other fans of the series) would be happy to answer any questions any casual viewers of the series have. Besides that, I'm more-or-less using this thread to gauge the popularity of Street Fighter on here. Any discussions had on here doesn't have to pertain to SFIV in particular; feel free to discuss any game of the series including the upcoming one, Street Fighter V! Oh, little info on me: I've been playing various fighting games throughout my life, although (admittedly) I only really got interested in the FGC and what is has to offer just 2 or 3 years ago. I play Cody primarily in USFIV (Ultra Street Fighter IV) and get my ass beat regularly online. I've been trying to pick up Zangief as of recent, but he hasn't exactly been clicking. Other than that, I also play a bit of Rose and Dudley. I play a bit of Tekken, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Skullgirls as well.
  3. ...what? Like, Team Meteor is not a copyrighted name or anything of the sort especially by a Pokemon fan game. If you're thinking that people need our permission to use a name like Team Meteor, then you're more than wrong. Even if someone here were able to sponsor a team of players, someone would then look where this came from, Nintendo could more than likely be made aware, and then shut everything down. Besides, I'm not even sure why you're taking something that he said as a little aside so seriously. I mean, it's nice to have little debates here and there but this is honestly one that's over nothing at all. Just give it the usual agreement and tack onto it whatever other fantasies you might want to see, then debate those things if you want because they just might be silly or frivolous things.
  4. Well, even though, in comparison to other games, the queues are relatively quick in ranked right now, people picking their desired roles and secondary roles is just going to slow it down, and probably quite a bit too. I mean, have you seen team builder queues when you queue up for anything that isn't adc/support? I've waited in 10 to 15 minute queues before just to get into a lobby, and that's not even considering how many people would possibly disband the lobby just because they get impatient.
  5. Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but I personally dislike how you return to the last healing station (whether it be a pkmn center or just a little healing statiions set up my team meteor or w/e) that you used instead of to the nearest one. It just annoys me that I don't have to worry about healing my party up, but if I lose a battle and the last place I healed is on another island or what have you, that I have to make that trek back over to where I was before.
  6. Without a doubt, it has got to be the evil ending to Infamous 2. At the time, I was just so into everything about that game; the characters, the story, the game play, and so on. And so, when I got a bit misty-eyed. What's even worse is that the developers MAKE you do it, so there's no choice involved there. I was waiting forever for something else to happen, but it never did I just ended up having to finish the job.
  7. Honestly, and I hate to jump aboard the Monte bandwagon and mentality of thought, but if they really did want to win worlds they would say screw the LCS and go to Korea for a year to compete there. Competing in the (arguably) weakest region when you're already one of if not the best team of that region isn't going to improve your team unless the competition improves itself. It all comes full circle back to how NA needs to be able to get more talent and to take their ranked matches (especially at challenger/masters level play) a bit more seriously if they want to become a region that can truly contest foreign opposition. And really, there has to be new players in NA that need to step up otherwise we're just going to be importing outside talent all the time, which ruins the whole point of there being an NA LCS if all the teams have nothing but foreign players playing for them. I'm fine with a few imports here and there, but honestly it's not healthy for competitiveness in an area that desperately needs to grow if teams bring in nothing but Koreans, Chinese, etc. to play for them and clean shop (I don't really count LMQ because it was originally a Chinese team that ended up moving to NA instead of an NA team bringing in nothing but Chinese players).
  8. Thanks all for your kind words! Yeah, have been enjoying Cody ever since I started playing Street Fighter (I'll admit, I got into the scene pretty late). Just recently started to pick up Gief, but Cody has been near and dear to me. Anyways, thanks for the nice words again everyone!
  9. TIL that, when unsatisfied with their wives (sexually), grown men of Ancient Greece were then formally paired with younger men and little boys, mostly the latter, to have sexual relationships with. Thanks sociology class, I really needed that.
  10. Sorry to disappoint lol. I've tried watching it on a few different occasions but I can't get past how fake it is. I don't mean to crap on what you're a fan of by any means, but it just never seemed...interesting.
  11. IT'S ONLY HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD...DiLimiter. Hey there! I'm fairly new around here (made my first post and then decided to introduce myself, so off to a great start). Although the title may make you think differently, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of wrestling by any means. I just hang around places where memes are way too prevalent for their own good. I was pointed this direction about two weeks ago by people on a Discord server that I talk to. I heard them talking about Reborn for a while and how great it was, so I figured that it'd be worth giving it a shot. And I have to say, although the main entry Pokemon games are still great, this is probably without a doubt the best Pokemon game I've played (I'd argue for Crystal as that holds a nostalgic place in my heart). I'm big into competitive games, such as League of Legends, Smite, and Street Fighter. I don't really mess around with LoL as much anymore, but I do follow their pro scene which has show, in my own opinion, how e-sports as a genre should be handled. That being said, I enjoy playing Smite and Street Fighter (Zangief and Cody being my two favorite characters from SF4 if it wasn't apparent already) much much more. Oh, I also enjoy Smash Bros. and other games as such, but could never be competent enough to play it at a high level (besides, I only have a 3DS anyways). I do like playing other games, but being a college student who's learning how to code, it's KINDA hard to find time for games that just aren't short little sets. Especially since by favorite genre of games are RPGs. That being said, I've found more than enough time to play Reborn between classes on my kinda crappy laptop. I hope that I enjoy my time around here as you all seem like a lovely community of folks. See ya around!
  12. Although Double is without a doubt the main player that you think of when you think of players who speak their minds no matter what, I don't think that he'll have as much of an impact on his choice of support as much as we'd like to think. Sure, he'll definitely want some say on who supports him, but that doesn't mean that it'll be, without a doubt, his choice. All it comes down to is simple marketing strategies: Who is TSM willing to spend the money on? Does the player reach an audience of people that the team hadn't previously reached before (is the player marketable to the public)? How much synergy does the player have with the rest of the team? How much talent does the player seem to sport? Honestly, it comes down to that matter that TSM is a business first now. The LoL scene--along with plenty of other e-sports scenes--has become quite large and noticed by people who aren't even remotely interested in this particular field of media, and TSM needs players who are marketable and worthwhile. Dyrus, as much as I like the guy and what he did, was only around for as long as he was because he had this persona that was awkward yet approachable to the public eye. Let's face it, if he wasn't a marketable player, he probably wouldn't have been TSM top laner (by the organization's choice, anyways) this season as his performance all year never seemed too strong. Now, TSM has been able to maintain the retirees that they wanted as streamers which has been nothing but profitable (mostly) for them and the streamers by far and large, but that's another conversation entirely.
