  1. I'm just gonna leave this here:
  2. Not to mention Solaris spamming EQ on Pyrous Mountain.
  3. Some of these are Showdown names where you get more characters, but... Ditto: 10-4 Copy That Emboar: Ham Solo Weavile: Cold Revenge Ditto, again: Mewtwo Beta Cofagrigus: Terror 404 Chandelure: California Reaper (named after the world's hottest chili pepper) Emboar, again: Wilbur Scoville (continuing the chili pepper theme, Wilbur Scoville invented the Scoville Scale which is used to rate spiciness and, also, Wilbur is the name of the pig in Charlotte's Web) Mandibuzz and Honchkrow: Bonnie & Clyde Rotom-Wash: Win Cycle Skarmory: Led Zeppelin
  4. In the Pokemon Adventures manga comics, gym leaders are more like what you described. And Pokemon's creator, Satoshi Tajiri, endorses the Pokemon Adventures series as the comics that most resemble the world he was trying to convey in his games. So, I guess it just boils down to certain limitations that come with fleshing out a story through an RPG.
  5. An NPC explains the change. Do consider what kind of tactical application this may have
  6. I don't have anything to post yet, but I just wanted to say it's awesome this thread is a thing now!
  7. Yeah I know haha. I was just trying to be fair and say that it doesn't make sense for a bear-sized rock / Godzilla clone to be able to level a mountain despite the canon Pokedex entry I cited. Anyways, the way I see it Reborn is a better game than the canon games, so Ame's Pokemon physics > the canon ones. Except for anything Terra related - that's all TM 78 right there. Also, another good TTar explanation, if anyone's interested: TTar could've used a ton of Superpowers when it fought Amaria's team, so it's Attack was super depleted by the time it struck Amaria.
  8. But you took my quote out of context. In literally the next line, I acknowledged that their bodies died off Full quote here:
  9. One more question, to everyone involved: Upon completing this game, what do you hope your biggest accomplishment will be? What I mean by that is, does the finished game itself represent the biggest victory, or are you more motivated by personal development, or the fact you've built an entire online community around the game, etc? Also, bonus question for Ame: words words physics surf item economics words?
  10. Fire Stone - Ninetails Water Stone - Starmie Thunderstone - Eelektross Leaf Stone - Exeggutor Moon Stone - Nidoking Sun Stone - Heliolisk Shiny Stone - Togekiss Dusk Stone - Chandelure Dawn Stone - Gallade
  11. Ninetails with Drought, so my days off could always have sunshine in the forecast!
  12. Okay, Bulldoze isn't awesome haha, but Acrobatics gives a strong flying move to a lot of non-flying Pokemon that usually can't learn one - that's what I meant by versatile. You can also still use it in tandem with flying gems, which are available on the cheap in Reborn. Then again I'm just a lowly player, not a resident item placement expert (cool title btw).
  13. most of the late-game gym leaders seem to give good tms and I expect that trend to continue. Flamethrower is one of the best ones, "bullshit" is viable in doubles battles, and acrobatics is a powerful and versatile flying move.
  14. I hate to be "that guy," but one of TTar's canon Pokedex entries (DPP series) does say "If it rampages, it knocks down mountains and buries rivers. Maps must be redrawn afterward." But it is your game, and besides I've never personally imagined Pokemon to be that strong. Realistically too, at 6'07" standing upright, TTar isn't any bigger than a grizzly bear, and people survive bear attacks.
  15. Out of what you can catch and raise early on, Sturdy Magnezone with Thunder Wave is super handy to have in Reborn, since it can paralyze overpowered opponents then get a hit in before going down. In the late game, Rotom is worth raising because of its versatility. It allows you to switch between five different types on the fly, so you can change up your team's typing in preparation for a tough fight (ie. a Gym Leader) without having to raise a new Pokemon. Also, Levitate is always great to have on an Electric type.
  16. Fainting barely even reduces happiness. Damage has no effect whatsoever on happiness. I'm pretty sure the only thing that does significantly downgrade happiness is the bitter medicines. I'd consider a fighting move like Hammer Arm though. STAB is a 1.5x boost, versus just 1.2x from Reckless. Flare Blitz is the only move that will benefit from both. I'd also consider replacing Take Down with Sucker Punch if breeding is an option for you. Sucker Punch helps Emboar get an extra strike in before going down to faster opponents (ie. all opponents, Emboar is super slow).
  17. Like others have said, the Move Deleter is mostly useless now, but even if 1 in 1,000 people still find him helpful (ie. for breeding) why remove him?
  18. I like where you're going with this but I doubt Titania's next; the Tourmaline Desert is probably going to take a lot of work to create and E16 is going to already feature a completely revamped Reborn city. Also, if Marcello's right about the badges being randomized, who knows.
  19. Hm, this got me thinking again (sorry in advance): will we ever see a scene where ZEL is reverted back into three separate entities? I'm aware that Eve and Lumi's bodies likely died off after they were fused into Zero's, but then again time warps and such seem to be a thing in this game - at least down in Arc-d'Astrae.
  20. Actually I was looking to replace Pansear and Growlithe around that time (both are Fire Stone evolvers I can't justify until Vulpix evolves). I'd love to make Torkoal a recurring nightmare for Meteor Grunts. . I may use Heatmor too for a bit, although I eventually want to catch Tepig and breed it with a diglett for Sucker Punch Tepig. I actually got a Slugma from the Game Corner but, with Camerupt already in the team, I can't justify another x4 water weakness
  21. Yep, the scene at Ametrine is intended to reveal that. Lumi was deathly ill with something mysterious, so Evelynn created the PULSE technology to amplify a Pokemon's healing powers to cure Lumi. IIRC, Evelynn was testing it on her Magneton when Zero busted in to seize the machine. Magneton being a powerful electromagnet and all, it caused the PULSE to act up, fusing Magneton's...um, Magnemites? into one solid Magnezone while also fusing Zero, Evelynn and Lumi into one body.
  22. Ah shoot. This may come as a surprise to nobody, but I'm not familiar with Avatar at all, so the reference flew right over my head haha. Nevermind, then.
  23. ...that's not the point I was trying to make at all. The script is obviously about Adrienn, hence the whole disappearance bit. See the underlined part of the quoted script. If Adrienn was indeed the only one who could've stopped Meteor in their first strike, that suggests that Adrienn is the highest-ranked gym leader in Reborn. Therefore, we'd fight xem later if my hunch is right - contrary to a lot of people who assume Addrien is next in line just because we're revisiting the city. I might be reading into it too much, but this struck me...
