Thanks DarkSpite! Now we need atleast one more person and then we can get this thing started! :D

Yes, you can give a select number to someone else, but no magiswords can be "shared" meaning that relinquishing a magisword makes the new owner the official, sole owner.

  2. Max > May Max is, like, a "feels moment" magnet. His Ralts episode was one of the only times I ever cried in response to this anime OMG But yeah, Dawn's definitely my favorite. Her moves inspired like 50% of all Ash's moves moving forward.
  3. Rowling made this intentional, in case you didn't know. I used to do Pottermore waaay back. Got bored easily. ):
  4. I just need to share this. http://generallycritical.com/2014/08/02/sailor-moon-crystal-episode-3-i-dont-even-care-anymore/ I'm surprised they didn't comment on the fact that the symbol for Mars, the symbol representing men, not only started to glow on her face...but started glowing on the place where her third eye would be. If the creators were smart enough, I'd think they were hinting at something with that. Unfortunately, they're too stupid to do so.

You know reading what this guy had to say about stylistic choices and what he calls "tonal dissonance" (Iread his whole Tokyo Ghoul review) helped me realize a lot of things about my own writing style. So yeah, thanks for sharing this.

  5. Did you like my Mighty Magiswords minigame on my Status Updates? If so, join the Onyx Arcade version of the game, which parodies pokemon journeys!

  6. Welcome to the Onyx Region of the MIGHTY MAGISWORDS world! As members of households with magiswords, you have all been given one of three basic magiswords. You have decided to journey together to collect the overwhelming number of magiswords in this region! ----- Rules: 1) Watch Mighty Magiswords on the CN website for a basic overview. You can also go to the Vine and CN Anything versions of the franchise to get bonus info! 2) Each magisword can only be used once per battle. A maximum of 5 magiswords can be used in the battle, so the first 5 posters (or less, depending) get to be shown in the battle. 3) I am the only one that can give details of the battle. The battle's contents will be based on Mighty Magiswords logic. 4) Anyone can join at any time, but every player has to start with one of the three basic magiswords and earn others. 5) You can relinquish your magiswords to another player on the condition that the relinquisher cannot play again. 6) You, the player, can only use one magisword per battle. 7) Suggestions for the journey can be sent to me by PM. The game world is not set and will be dictated by player's choices, suggestions, and my own theorycraft. Various magisword battles will expand upon the setting; once a setting is set during a battle, it has to be acknowledged further in the journey (for example, a city made of brick will remain made of brick until the city is exited). 8) Magiswords are earned by defeating enemies. Only one player can win any given battle. While most enemies are unique, some enemies will be found repeatedly and multiple players will be able to get the enemy's magisword. Hah, kidding! This isn't how the MM world works! Sometimes there can be multiple magiswords, no magiswords, and sometimes you'll face puzzles instead of enemies! Most times, though, there ARE enemies and someone will have to defeat them - but another player could grab the magisword instead! Choose the best magisword to get the prize, not just the best magisword for the situation! ^^ 9) Even if something doesn't make sense to you, it will not be retcon'd if it follows Mighty Magisword logic. 10) The gamemaster (me or anyone I choose to replace me) cannot be a player in the game as long as they are the gamemaster. The gamemaster must act as an impartial party. 11) The magiswords in this game and the ones in the main series may be significantly different, although many themes and gimmicks may be shared. 12) You can chat with other players by using quotation marks during magisword selection. Be nice! 13) If you want to play a freelance version of this game where you can use any magisword you want at any time, play the version in my Status Updates! 14) Be creative. ----- Existing magiswords and their users: Feather Duster () Stop Sign () Boing-Boing () ----- You have arrived at Brickville Pier, a bridge/pier hybrid made completely of large stones! After getting off the ship that has carried you for weeks, you stretch for 10 whole minutes. When you finish and look around, you find that a few other people in the area are staring at you. Like you, they also have magiswords! Having all become buddy-buddy, the group walks across the bridge towards town. All of the sudden, a black octowhale rushes at the bridge, its teeth clanging in anticipation of its meaty meal! You move your hand to your Knapsack of Spacial Distortion and grab the basic sword you chose back in your homeland: a ) Feather Duster Magisword b ) Stop Sign Magisword c ) Boing-Boing Magisword CHOOSE YOUR MAGISWORD!!!
  7. Daenerys doesn't get her power from devouring dragon's souls, though. The Dovahkiin does.
  8. Congratulations, you're the Dovahkiin!
  9. I've been under medical house arrest before. Hopefully you won't have to be...but if so, atleast you have the Internet. :3 Hope you feel better soon! ^^
  10. Blow up Poison Mist when you get to Tangrowth. That's how I won.
  11. DarkSpite chose... TOMATO REVENGE MAGISWORD!(?) Amegoose attempts to derail nearby traffic by honking...but you fling a tomato into its beak, blocking the sound! You then fire more tomatoes at it repeatedly, dying it completely red! Escaped bulls from the nearby rodeo see the red Amegoose and chase it into traffic, where it gets run over. Great job, DarkSpite! :D

They...do random things based on the theme of the sword. Seriously, it's easier just to go watch it. http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/video/magiswords/index.html?atclk_vn=nav_Mighty-Magiswords

Ame, the monster in question was AN Amegoose, not you specifically. :P

  12. Pyrrhon chose... DOLPHIN MAGISWORD! Amegoose honks aloud, causing a car to swerve off the road! The dolphin sword dives into the water, but the car crashes into the same place! You barely get away and back to the surface! Nice try, Pyrrhon.

  16. ^ Result: The Phantasmist ^ Huh. I'd probably evolve into the Dark Shaman. I actually dislike Light greatly, yet I have traits that for some reason are deemed good (I call them necessary). I also would not want to get rid of melee weaponry. Swords, spears, and similar weapons hold too much of an appeal for me. Another choice would be Chaos Phantom. I've always figured myself one that would become a Shade and I am a HUGE fan of The Darkness (superhero), so this would be perfect for me. I despise balance and prefer chaos. Since I already obtained 40% on Chaotic Stability, taking the Chaos Route on Chaos Phantom wouldn't be a problem. I'd also be able to turn my body into dark weapons, like in Infamous, which would fit my melee desires perfectly. Stats:
  17. I named my female torchic Shay, based on Shay from Chicago Fire. In that show, Shay died in a fire. Torchic is a fire pokemon. I am such an a-hole.
  18. Dunno if it's been suggested before, but... Field Effect for Shadow Pokemon.
  19. Everyone should watch One Piece atleast once in their lives.

One Piece wasn't always slow, actually, but now they've gone into full buy time mode. And the "latest" arc doesn't help at all...

I know what you mean, Ody. Only 50% of the episode length is dedicated to the actual story, and having to watch Ad Council ads every 5 mins because Crunchyroll can't be adblock'd on Roku is... UGH.

I just can't binge One Piece anymore to save my life.

Just continue with the manga and start banging your head, mourning about the bad choices of post-timeskip Oda-sensei. Aaaaaand breaks.

Btw, have you watched HxH, the 2011 series? The second half of the Chimera Ants arc was even slower and much more torturous

  20. Yes, actually. You don't? (Note that I acknowledge the type problem with the thundershock. But seriously... Tail whip.) From Bulbapedia: "Static. When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that the attacking Pokémon will become paralyzed. This can affect Ground-type Pokémon." The marowak was attacking Pikachu furiously. According to anime logic, this would mean that it would inevitably become weak to electric-type. This actually sounds better to me than the game logic.
  21. Before anyone knew any details about XY, I stated that the pokemon games needed to improve their features, including turning 2D into 3D. Haters all hated on me, saying it not only would ruin pokemon...but that it would also never happen, period. Guess what happened? XY did.
  22. Pokemon Origins sucks. The normal Pokemon anime is amazing. If you want to have a proper run at Reborn, you MUST watch the anime. Seriously. The main Pokemon series games are so easy it's ridiculous; Pokemon battling in the anime, on the other hand, is really, really difficult - more difficult than even Reborn is. Most of the people posting here probably grew up with the games first and as such they're a part of one huge side of the pokemon fandom. They hate on the anime because they haven't even watched it properly. Anyone who tells you to only watch X number of seasons has, I guarantee you, not watched the other seasons. One major thing that separates the two sides is how pokemon are captured, trained, and used in battle: The game side tends to do IV training, excessive breeding for abilities, use type effectiveness and naturally overpowering pokemon, and catch all pokemon only to discard them when they are no longer useful; they also transfer pokemon from other regions as soon as possible, allowing them to steamroll the region. The anime side believes that those things are impure. They believe that trainers should accept the pokemon they meet and catch as they are and use those pokemon strategically in battle, learning their pokemon's possible strengths and weakness through difficult combat. The anime-side trainers believe that type effectiveness and higher stats aren't everything and they also believe in using a region's pokemon to beat that region rather than transferring. As an anime trainer, I have OWNED Reborn so far without a sweat by using the strategies in the anime. I tend to use the same pokemon as often as possible in the journey. I very rarely ever grind since normal battling has given me enough experience for my normal team. My definition of "training" is testing out my pokemon's capabilities and their ability to use teamwork. I take joy in defeating tough enemies, rather than steamrolling them with specifically chosen OP pokemon. Another thing that the game side tends to do that the anime side doesn't is Nuzlocke. Nuzlocke rules tend to follow the ideology that one single defeat is unacceptable because of the desire for the "perfect run" and that the events in games should be ignored in order to follow set standards that don't allow things like catching multiples of one pokemon. Nuzlocking and similar playstyles go completely against the nature of the anime, which teaches trainers to accept defeat, cherish every memory of the journey, and treat your pokemon well. The anime often attacks gamers by showing visual representations of what gamers do as no-nos; Paul forcing his chimchar to get beaten to shreds and eventually just throwing it away were similar to actions done by gamers (this all happens in the episode Top-Down Training!). Gamers tend to view any defeat and any weakness in a pokemon to be negatives that destroy their view of their so-called perfect main game trainers. They think that the conquering of a League is something that those characters would always do and that any possible weakness in that trainer is a lie. They also ignore the difference in difficulty between the game and anime, wherein the former is far, far easier. I would suggest watching the entire anime yourself and to pay attention to all of the subtle differences between the game world and anime world. Also remember that the anime always happens BEFORE the game does, so various possible events like the destruction of gangs and the shown gym masters happen at a different time between the mediums. Ash punched Mewtwo. He can use Aura. He's literally the King of the Ocean. Ash might not be as good a trainer but he is a way better character.
