  1. Seems like we of the steadfast re-tying society are a minority. But yeah, it takes just a minute or two, and unless you're trying to escape a disaster, that one minute spent firmly lacing up your shoes or sneakers will not cost you. Actually, scratch that, properly tied shoes are probably even more vital when you're trying to run from a disaster. Anyway, not only does this ensure that the shoe does its job of properly encasing and protecting the foot, but properly laced and polished shoes also makes your entire attire look neater. Shoes, like the face, hands and dress, speak of a person's attitude towards tidiness and discipline. After all, how can you put your best foot forward if your shoes scream 'slob'?
  2. Oh, I see. Well, I don't mean it's morbidly fat or anything, but espeon is rather skinny to begin with. I rather prefer your version, looks more like the proportions of an actual cat.
  3. Oh, I see. I must've missed that. Well, that only makes me wonder what the other stories could be. And yeah, it is true that you seemed to have tailed off with the treecko. That espeon looks rather well fed, what's its story?
  4. Har har har. Enjoy the Fate of those with badly raised and incomplete teams when they face Charlotte. In fact, consider yourself lucky that you're not facing an older version of her. Charlotte in some of the previous episodes was a demon from hell.
  5. Not bad, spine. I would never have thought that a pig that cooks itself could actually look cute. I'm curious to hear this story behind them!
  6. Walrein isn't gonna take Hammer Arms and Focus Blasts. It will also not like Thunderbolt or Giga Drain. That should be enough of a hint. And why do you do this to me. Poor growlithe. Just...just put it down. It doesn't deserve to live such a cruel life.
  7. Steffo, you might want to consider Hippowdon or Gliscor over Nidoking; the extra bulk is useful, and mixed Hippo can eat hits from dangerous things like Talonflame and take some pressure off Rotom. Hippo is also a much better user of SR, since it has massive bulk and Slack Off. Gliscor should not be used as a Rock setter, instead, it can make a fantastic Bulky SD Sweeper with Roost, SD, Knock Off (which you lack on this team) and EQ. Hippowdon and Gliscor can both also beat Sand Drill, though Gliscor needs to be bulky. Mach Punch Infernape can also revenge Excadrill, and straight up beat Mold Breaker variants with CC. (Rotom can't) They can also help you with Gengar without you having to chunk Aegislash. Having Aeguslash shouldn't give you problems with Fairies. You needn't fear burns too much if you run a physical set with Iron Head, however, since you have an Infernape and MG Clefable to absorb will-o-wisps from common users. In that case, turning Infernape into a sash lead with Stealth Rock and maybe Taunt would not be a bad idea, at least for singles. Putting U-turn on Ape is also good, as together with Rotom's Volt Switch they can make a nice Volt Turn core that can give Gliscor and Hydreigon momentum. Hydreigon itself can also use U-turn for more pressure, though Gliscor is not a very good user of the move. At the very least, if you don't like the above ideas, change Nidoking into Nidoqueen. It's bulk is better suited for an SR setter. (Also Fake Out is horrible on Ape for singles, although it may have some use in doubles. Please do consider having Mach Punch, Grass Knot, ThunderPunch or U-turn, since Ape gets mad coverage. You could even run Nasty Plot or Swords Dance for a surprise sweep, though that is not very advisable as you have a better Sweeper in Gliscor.)
  8. Duh. It breaks the shell, and under the shell is...another shell, and so ad infinitum.Rhypeior/Aggron is one example where a cosmetic difference actually makes more logical sense. But it is a rare one, and it's not specifically needed. Filter Rhyperior is not logically inaccurate, and Solid Rock is also available to Camerupt which is not and was never a rock type. The whole rock/ground/steel family of types is similar enoigh morphologically for these things to slide. Granted, Clear Body and White Smoke are rather odd when swapped (Imagine a transparent Heatmor. As if it wasn't hideous enough already.)
  9. Ah, I see. If you really wanted something to hit ground types and take a hit from them, Grass types are usually your best bet. You could also try Swanna, which is also an able HM serf with Surf, Defog and Fly (which you can't yet use, but even so) although Swanna will not enjoy the Rock Slides and Stone Edges that Ground types like. If you have it, teach Grass Knot to Mismagius for now, until you can get back to the city and gather some better Grass types. I'm outraged that you joined the infidels of the Magma gang, when Water and Rain are so clearly the superior option. Enjoy fighting Charlotte with Sunny Day- hers, not yours. (Though the Ludicolo line learns Rain Dance naturally, I'm sure. Anyway, that horrible one with zero SpDef should stay in the dirty ditch where you found it.) If you want to try another Rain Dancer, run back to Routes 3 and 4, and catch yourself a Heatproof Bronzor (Bronzong can also appear rarely. I caught myself a level 70s Bronzong ready for use just outside Calcenon. Of course, I didn't use it; I bred it about seventeen times until I got a nicer Bronzong) which can learn Rain Dance naturally as well. Tyrantrum is one of the best things to use against Charlotte, though. Stealth Rock will help you greatly, and Earthquake and Head Smash will obliterate everything. It's a damn shame that you can't get to the city and breed it with a Horses to teach it Dragon Dance. If you have the Rock Polish TM, teach it to it temporarily over Dragon Claw and hope to outspeeds and flatten her team. If not, good luck, because most of her mons have coverage, be it Solar Beam or Focus Blast or Hammer Arm or something, and even without them, Sun-boosted + Field-boosted + STAB boosted fire moves from her mons will do a chunk even to that thing, forget the x4 resistance, because it probably has subpar IVs and EVs and because it is also slower than my grandmother. Noivern will also help you against Charlotte simply because it is fast and resists Fire, Grass and Fighting, and I hope it is high levelled enough to learn Dragon Pulse and Boomburst (Hurricane won't help in the sun because solar rays apparently make winds miss.) The best thing, however, is to fight fire with fire. If you have that Arcanine, it'll be your best friend at the moment, especially if it has Flash Fire. If and when you beat Charlotte, she gives you the TM Flamethrower. Teach it to Noivern and do all three of us a favour. Although, once you get back to the city, you can and should get yourself the other weather TM by beating the skulking leader of the other gang - in your case, the Aqua gang - in the drug hole to the extreme right of Seventh Street. He'll thank you for whooping his butt twice, and give you Rain Dance. Oh, and I am honoured by your myriad compliments, even if there is a poison dart hidden in the raisin tart. And damn right, be ashamed of yourself for confusing an elk with a caribou. It's the eighth deadly sin.
  10. It took me all this while to realise that VV meant me. Damn. Spine?
  11. I suppose this exists, but I like my annual jolt to remain annual. Besides, having to constantly see an Excadrill look like a deformed Sanic with 'gtg fast' scrawled on a dust cloud over his head is rather disturbing.
  12. Shell Armour should not be a replica of Battle Armour, but should instead prevent lowering of any defensive stat by any means. This includes via Secondary Effects of moves like Rock Smash or Flash Cannon, as well as via self-induced stat drops like from Close Combat. Imagine Shell Armour Shell Smash. So nice.
  13. I know! It's really sucky that way. Oh well, at least you have Analytic Starmie, the God.
  14. Damn, I always get confused between BW and BW2 distributions. In BW chinchou could be found in Driftveil and neighboring routes. And even for the lols, corsola is horrible. I'm sure a Carracosta would be better; you can get one, right?
  15. The only HM that's actually competitively useful is surf, and it's probably gonna be that way. I agree about the multiple abilities that do the same thing. But I'd edit Forewarn and Anticipation, two rather useless abilities, to be more useful. It's be interesting if they could combine their effects, I'm not exactly sure how, though. For moves, I think Poison Fang should have a greater base power OR a 100% chance to badly poison, like a damaging variant of Toxic. At present it is simply too weak for its 50% proc chance to be of use. Also, it's a shame that Latios and Latias get a signature Psychic type move each, but never use them since they are too weak. Lustre Purge and Mist Ball are perfectly fine moves with good side effects, being 50% chance to lower either SpAtk or SpDef, but they are held back by their pathetic base 70 power and low PP. I'd edit them to be base 100 power at least, so that they can be actually viable. I would also make Rock Slide 100% accurate. It's infuriating that the strongest 100% accurate physical Rock moves are...Smack Down and Rock Tomb, at 50 and 60 BP, respectively. While Stone Edge may justifiably be inaccurate, Rock Slide at a mere 75 BP should not be.
  16. Congratulations on embracing the power of the one true Lord and Saviour. (Metagross is cool too, dw~) All the best. Yes, Reversal mountain will indeed contain a bunch of ground and fighting types. Perhaps you can get a Bronzong somewhere? i don't really remember where you can get one, if you can get one. And yeah, the Metagross is after e4, I'm fairly sure of it. I remember them making an appearance in Giant Chasm, though I could be wrong. I last played this game fully years ago.
  17. Hey, Chubb, I think Lanturn is a good addition to the team if you want an electric-immunity with Volt Absorb and a nice fat Scald user in general. It also gets good moves like Volt Switch and Thunder Wave which might help you along. i don't really remember where you can get one, though, and I'm too lazy to check Bulbapedia :x.
  18. Ah, A steel eeveelution may not be bad. It could be something tanky and defensive, yet possessing enough power to hit decently hard, and with a good defensive ability like Filter or Sturdy. Perhaps a stat spread of 65/95/130/60/110/65, or some such. That, combined with access to Wish, Heal Bell, maybe Roar / Dragon Tail or Stealth rock would make an excellent cleric, Fairy killer and hazard setter rolled into one. It's about time we have an eeveelution that is actually good in OU; the only usable ones currently are Sylveon and Vaporeon, both of which are outclassed by other Pokemon of their type in almost every way. Theroymonning here: Irideon? Ferreon? Aureon? Cobaleon I mean what.
  19. huh. this is fun. well, here's a custom move, then, tailored for Magnezone, which, as we all know, is clearly superior and deserves a better signature move than dumb ol' Magnet Bomb. Name: Brilliant Bolt Type: Steel PP: 10 (16 max) Power: 100 Accuracy: 90% Secondary Effect: 20% chance to raise user's Sp.Atk Description: The user charges up its light energy and fires a dazzling bolt at the foe. The residual energy may boost the user's Sp.Atk stat. Basically a stronger version of Flash Cannon with a better side effect, rather like a Special variant of Meteor Mash. I prefer moves that aren't outright broken and yet have a realistic enough implication.
  20. Hello, and welcome to Reborn, Al! I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. We're a mostly nice and friendly community, so I'm sure you'll have no trouble. Do check out the Community Rules on your left, and remember to drop in for a few chats on the Showdown Server. Be seeing you around.
  21. Hello and welcome to Reborn, Lileen. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. Do check out the server for a few chats.
  22. You just posted a team. No preamble, no requirement, seemingly no problem which you want our help for. So all I can do is say 'Oh, ah, I see.' You also said that you don't care about natures, as is evidenced by a Mismagius with +attack and -speed. And you also said you don't care about breeding for IVs, moves or even EV raising. What else can I say? You can use a Darmanitan if you want, maybe. Or a magneton. Your moves are standard, your mons will learn some of their better moves at higher levels, Arcanine might appreciate Close Combat or Extreme Speed (you can teach it to it for a heart scale I guess) But other than that, if your team is doing well for you, well that's fantastic, and again I have nothing to say if it does it' job. After all, you didn't mention having trouble with it anywhere. So, then, decent team, although as a habitual breeder I can't agree with it, (but then you did say you don't want my opinion on that) and I can at best encourage you to carry on. All the best.
  23. Amazing! I wonder why I didn't discover this sooner. I particularly like the Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross and Mega Aggron. (Call me biased, but the inversion of colours on Scizor worked out well, and Aggron looks a bit like Kyurem-B with that colour scheme)
  24. There is a reason why EVs and IVs have a significant impact in the game. At Lv 100, you're literally adding a maximum of 94 points to a stat with perfect IVs and maxed EVs. Reborn is not so simple a game where a properly bred and raised Pokemon will break the challenge; rather, it adds the right element of reliability. As has already been said, a borked Pokemon like Blaziken or Greninja will make the game easier regardless of their EVs. I, however, always raise my mons perfectly, with the power items and by the murder of scores of bats, rats, cats and magma snails. In fact, although this is purely for personal pleasure, I raised up a boxful of competitive mons with near-perfect or perfect IVs, as good a moveset as currently available and competitive EV spreads, just as trophies. Having the Shiny Charm means that very often you have a perfect shiny specimen as well. Granted, you needn't hatch 200+ eggs for that one mystical perfect IVs HP Fire Magnemite (trust me, genderless Hidden Power breeding is a nightmare. Especially with only one Ditto) but you certainly would be doing yourself the right favour by raising your mons well in EVs. It won't make the game too easy, rather, the choice of mons may.
