Hello everyone.
Today I stand before you to announce my intention to build my Pokemon-League for the upcoming Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire games.
What is the meaning of this?
Easy. I want to create up to 23 Pokemon-Teams with 6 Pokemon each, which will represent:
18 Gym-Leaders (one per Type... just like in Reborn) - Monotypes
4 Elite4-Members
1 Champion
Actually I wanted to do this already with X/Y for a fun, as a special challange for my buddies (since I'm the greatest Pokemon-nerd from us)
but as it turned out my buddies chickened out and didn't get the game like they promised... so I was stuck playing it alone, and eventually discarded the whole idea (although I put together a few teams).
Now with ORAS coming in November I thought: "Hell, maybe this time they keep their promise... and if not: I'm now part of an awesome community."
Soooo "why is this in the 'Trainer School' section?", you may ask...
simple: I may be the biggest Pokemon-nerd in comparison to my buddies... but I'm terrible with strategies and in some cases team building, that's where I need help.
That's because I never really played competitively... but I must confess: Reborn has taught me not to rely on pure strength alone... so I learned something about new play-styles and adaption only by playing this game and being around on the Forums. (like adapting my Team, and adding two bulky Steel-types with defence boosting moves, only for Noel)
You see, normally I go all brute force move-pools in the main-series, since I never really played competetively... and it worked in the game (1 STAB-Move per type, rest coverage).
Now I know my buddies would most likely play the same way... get rid of status-moves and/or weak utility moves (like priority-moves), and most certainly they don't give a damn about entry hazards.
I ask now for assistance so I may prepare my teams in advance on my X-Version (hooray for Pokebank!)
and well... since i never went online, except a few wondertrades, I may not have every Pokeom available.
As a rule-set I would like to not use legendaries on either side for a few reasons:
- In my opinion I find the use of legendaries cheap.
- some are hard to come by without cheating/duplicating or not living in a certain Country where they are/were given away. (Event-give aways for example)
If you guys want, I can post the Teams I put together earlier (damn... I haven't played X in about 2 months or so...) and let you look over them, just to see if they would work well (without move-sets... I only put them together in a box and would have given them the moves when I would have trained them)
So yeah... If you want to help me out I'd appreciate it, but don't expect me to have everything ready in a few days.
I don't have time to do it in the next weeks, maybe one or two hours here and there... but I just wanted to start it off, so I don't forget about it, and have as much preperation time as possible.
(I might even put together some badges with a graphics-software^^)
