Welcome, hope you enjoy your stay! Make a topic in the Team Showcase section if you want help or advice or bragging rights. -And to address some of the things you said, the 500 posts thing has been changed to 750 posts and having a 6-month-old account. -Money is pretty useless in the game. You'll need it for basic supplies early on, maybe some stuff from the Department Store and a shortcut way later that takes 40k to unlock. You'll be raking in that useless dough soon enough~ -Check out the Trading Service topic in the Team Showcase section. The Growlithe event does give you one of 18 different things, but just because you got something you don't like doesn't mean you can't trade it in for something else. And a lot of people that get a Larvesta or something make a small army of them just for trading, so it shouldn't be that hard for you to get a bargain with someone. -Warning points are only given for things that are against the community rules (iirc) (you have a link to the rules to the left, where your messenger and stuff are).

^^Yeah, that alley has level 9-12 Pokemon iirc. Also, fish up a Grimer or two, those things are great early game (check the pinned guides in the On The Hunt for exact locations of everything (the EV guide even has encounter percentages)).

Nah, he got it right. And btw, an Egg Cycle is the total number of steps an egg needs to hatch. Though those abilities only affect hatching, he's got trouble with egg generation. Idk. If you ARE following the instructions properly, it should work. Mess around with it. Make sure the 2 things you put in are compatible. The thing you need to set to 511 goes up to 511, then drops down to 1 and climbs back up; do the first 3 steps, then walk around and keep an eye on the results in CE, find the thing that goes up to 511 then drops, make that 511 and toggle it; try if that'll do it. If that doesn't work, to see if things work at all, get an egg "legit" and try the quick-hatch thing. Oh, and PM me your answer, don't wanna let this topic get too cluttered (like it's not too late for that already lol)

Oh wow, it's been ages since I last heard of this game. Never actually played it myself (no PS3), but saw an LP or two and looks like a pretty fun game.

Check the pinned breeding guide in the Team Showcase section, there's a link to E12 there. Just keep in mind that E12's last leader was Samson, so be in the circus area before reverting. Ideally, be at the circus indoors somewhere.

You get Strength right after Solaris. You get the badge to use Strength from the first gym after Solaris.

6:57 AM. Didn't sleep all night and got stuff to do at 11/12, so I'm in the weird limbo where it is and isn't worth it to sleep now.

Keep playing, the earliest you can get it is when the plot brings you to the area it's in. To be more specific, once you get Strength and the Badge to use it, you'll get deeper into the Railnet. In the area where a puzzle is, some of the walls can be broken with Rock Smash (you'll know what the wall-parts are when you see them, they're darker than the other parts).

-Magnet Pull is a great ability in competitive, but useless here since no one ever switches anyways. Make it Sturdy with Mirror Coat for bosses like the Arceus or Analytic for some more power (but I think Sturdy is better). Tri Attack really doesn't do anything for you. I'd recommend Hidden Power (depending on what you get) or Thunder Wave. -Though, there are better Steel types and a better Electric type. Interested? -If you're using Toxicroak with just 4 attacks, it can be a bit underwhelming, to the point that I'd suggest a different Poison or Fighting type. But if you wanna keep it, check out the pinned breeding guide in this section. You can get your Toxicroak Bulk Up and Drain Punch within minutes, which makes it quite a powerhouse. -Eh. No fan of it, personally. It doesn't hit that hard. And Protean is handy, but you'll still go down to just about anything. I'd recommend a different Water or Dark type. Want me to come up with some replacements? -Gothitelle is pretty good. It's best set, IMO, is Calm Mind, since it's bulk lets it set that up relatively easily. Ditch Feint Attack and a Psychic move. Give it Grass Knot and either Calm Mind or Thunderbolt from E12. But honestly, Reuniclus can do everything Gothitelle does, but better AND it can be the fastest thing on the field with Trick Room (which it can also use to support your team). -There's really better options, both for Fire and for Ground. If you wanna keep it, replace Earthquake with Rock Slide or Ancient Power, replace Magma Armor with Solid Rock. Eruption is also an option with Trick Room Reuniclus. And instead of Rock Smash, there's Hidden Power, Body Slam for paras and Iron Head. But it's really not that good. Bad bulk and speed, mediocre offenses. Want me to come up with some replacements? Get a new Eevee (via Ditto if your Sylveon is male). Train that Eevee until it gets to level 45 (or 55, I forget) so that it can get Trump Card. TC grows stronger the less PP it has left. At the final use, with Pixilate's modifier, factoring in STAB, that's a 390 BP move. Again, try Hidden Power. Draining Kiss is bad, it's a really weak move. Give it Quick Attack instead; it's a decent "parting shot". Or use Yawn. Another stupid yet working option is Curse, Quick Attack, Dig(E12)/Return(E12)/Secret Power/Yawn/Stored Power. Sylveon already has excellent special bulk, so if you can find the opportunity, set up some Curses and there you go. Quick Attack is obvious, to pick off frailer/wounded faster things. And now choose your 3rd and 4th move. I'd really recommend you get Dig since it hits everything that resists Fairy. Return and Secret Power are stronger non-priority STABs. Yawn lets you set up really easily. Stored Power, even if you're Adamant or something, still comes from a 110 Base Special Attack and, if you Curse up to max, has 260 BP.

I'd go with Grumpig. It's still pretty bulky specially and, with monotypes, having coverage options like Power Gem is really good. Not that it really matters much if they're just temporary members. Bit off topic, but props for using Sigilyph! And I'm surprised you're not planning on using Reuncilus. I'd say it's the best Psychic type in the game right now AND it can easily set up Trick Room, which both Medicham and Malamar benefit from greatly. I'm also not sure about that Gardevoir, you'd benefit way more from a Metagross IMO (especially cause, as is, your only physically-bulky thing is Malamar if it manages to get up some Superpowers first).

K, first off, I'll be recommending best possible sets, which will include breeding. I know a lot of people usually don't have the patience for that, but you can use Cheat Engine to finish up one team member in 1-2 minutes (for shorter chains). -Special Charizard is bad. It's Sp.Atk is definitely not high enough to warrant using it over any other Fire type. I'd suggest a physical set with Dragon Dance to make it somewhat usable, but there's really better options. If you want to keep it, go with Blaze and Dragon Dance, Flare Blitz(or...Fire Fang if you don't want recoil, since it'll be almost dead no matter what it sets up on. it's a Charizard), Shadow Claw, Wing Attack/Dig(E12 breeding(check the pinned guide in this section for details))(Dig is better for coverage. WA is STAB, but it's still barely stronger than Dig, not enough to make it worth using over Dig) Wnat me to come up with some replacements? -Dunno what moves you've got, but Roserade is best with Hidden Power (if you get a good one), Giga Drain/Leaf Storm/Magic Leaf, Extrasensory, Sludge Bomb. (you need E12 for Sludge Bomb. the guide has the exact breeding chain). -Eh. I'd say Heliolisk is better than Ampharos. Sure, Ampharos is bulky, but it's not that bulky. And it's slow, so it'll be worn down eventually. But Heliolisk is not only way faster, it also has coverage options like Surf, Grass Knot and Dark Pulse AND it has actually useful abilities. You bet the upcoming Rock/Water gyms will be using Sand/Rain, so Heliolisk will be really good there. And hey, if you get a Ninetales with Drought, you can always keep Heliolisk's Solar Power ability active, which essentially gives it 190 Base Sp.Atk. (Ninetales could either replace Charizard(probably better this way) or you can use both and keep Special Charizard) -Jolly is bad, Machamp is slow. Give it Impish or Adamant. Run Knock Off, a STAB, Ice Punch, Bullet Punch(as a "parting shot" of sorts). No Guard Dynamic Punch works, but, in my opinion, Guts Close Combat is better. It's not only stronger naturally, there's a Toxic Orb in the game, so you can easily activate Guts. -Trace can be fun, but it's very limited. Most of the time, you'll be picking up useless abilities. Both Download and Adaptability are good abilities. Download is useless against specially bulky things, but that's not what you use a Porygon against anyways, and it'S a bigger boost than Adaptability and it boosts all moves, not just STABs. For Moves, pretty obvious, Tri Attack, Discharge, Icy Wind, Signal Beam. Another option is Agility, Nasty Plot/Charge Beam, Tri Attack, Dark Pulse. -Snow Cloak is useless, run Thick Fat. And Sassy is not that great since Mamo won't be sponging special hits. I'd go with Adamant. You can run it with Earthquake, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Rock Slide(E12) or Curse, Earthquake, Avalanche, Ice Shard. -Regenerator works. Personally, I prefer Reckless for an even stronger HJK, but that works too. HJK, Knock Off, Acrobatics, Rock Slide(E12)/Poison Jab(E12), Grass Knot. -Timid is bad, it's slow. Run a +Def/Sp.Def -Attack nature. Clefable has a nice and perhaps broken set. Cute Charm (nothing ever uses status moves in-game anyways) with Minimize, Cosmic Power, Charge Beam, Stored Power. Reduce your chance to be hit to 33%-ish, quadruple your defenses with CP and Sp.Atk with Charge Beam. Then fire off +6 500 BP Stored Powers. -Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Superpower/Crunch. -Protect, Destiny Bond (both from E12), Waterfall, Night Slash or Waterfall, Night Slash, Ice Fang, Destiny Bond/Bounce. NS>Crunch because, if you give Sharpedo a Scope Lens (from the Department Store), NS has a 50% chance to crit. -Head Smash, Zen Headbutt, Crunch/Iron Head, Earthquake(E12). Give it a Zoom Lens (from the Department Store), if you go after your foe (which you will, this is a Rampardos), you get a 20% accuracy boost to all of your moves, so Head Smash will have 96% accuracy. Though Rampardos isn't the ideal Rock type. It has a ton of power, sure, but it's slow and frail. For replacements, there's Archeops, any Shell Smasher, Gigalith, Tyrantrum, Aurorus, Relicanth and Rhyperior that are REALLY good.

You want diversity? You want Eelektross. Of all 18 types, it gets good moves from 15 of them (the exceptions being Psychic, Ground and Fairy). Also got pretty good bulk and every hit is a no-SE hit cause it has no weaknesses (and with all the offensive moves, this things is what Assault Vests exists for). And it hits hard on both sides with 115/105 offenses. Speed's a bit low, but hey, it excels in everything else.
-
Wrong. It's just that there's a few oversights here and there, especially when it comes to gen 6 Pokemon.
-
We still have 4 gyms to go and are already at level 75-ish, so you'll most likely have a squad around level 95 by the end.

Honestly, there's no reason to run Lucario mixed. It doesn't hit that hard, so I'd really recommend a set-up move, but running both SD and Nasty Plot is obviously not good. Then there's also the fact that 90 Base Speed is good, but not great enough, you'd be easily killed by something faster; so either priority or Agility are necessary to make Lucario really worth a position on your team. So! The sets I'd recommend are: 1)Swords Dance, Extreme Speed/Bullet Punch/Agility, Close Combat/High Jump Kick, Shadow Claw/Crunch. Fairly simple. SD is obvious. Again, Lucario's average speed and bad bulk leave it easily outsped and killed, so you can run a priority move or Agility. Extreme Speed is stronger than STAB Bullet Punch and has better coverage, since Steel is resisted by a lot of types. Agility lets you outspeed anything and you can use your stronger moves, but it's a lot harder to set up that and SD. Use whatever you want here. CC lowers defenses, but you won't be living too many hits with 70/70/70 bulk anyways. HJK can miss, but if you give it a Wide Lens, it only has a 1% chance to. This one depends on your 2nd move. Fighting+Ghost is perfect coverage, while Fighting+Dark is resisted by Fairies (which is no issue if you have BP(although they do neutral damage to Lucario and ES is the better priority. Your call)) -Other options would be Blaze Kick and Iron Tail. But BK is worse coverage and I dunno about you, but I'd like a Steel move that actually hits. 2)Nasty Plot, Vacuum Wave/Agility, Aura Sphere, Shadow Ball. Like the above, just special. -Other options would be Dragon Pulse and Calm Mind, but DP makes you even weaker against Fairies and has unneeded coverage, CM is a slower Nasty Plot that does buff your Sp.Def, but still leaves you doomed against physical attackers (but I guess you can try it). 3)Whatever, just don't use set-up moves and use it for hit-and-run. I'd really prefer a different Fighting type like Mienshao for that, but whatever floats your boat.

What's the game you're most looking forward to in the future?
Etesian replied to Hawky's topic in Gaming General
MGRR2 when It used to be Dishonored 2 for a looooong time, but then I heard Samuel's gone and Emily is playable, so that was a huge hype kill. I'm really looking forward to playing The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth expansion. I know it came out today, but my main laptop is down (and it's apparently crashing at start-up for a lot of people).- 25 replies

Get Honey. Talk to trees, some will offer you to smear Honey on them. Then take 250 steps (used to be time, now step count). Heracross and Pinsir show up (can't catch 'em there). Fight Pinsir, Heracross busts a web. Fight Heracross, Pinsir busts a log.
