The goddesses: Alexus, Nayru, Kallisto, and Layla. Every child in the world knows these names. Some consider them fairy tales, but most believe they created the world and everything in it. Those people are ignorant, but the fault lies not with them. The goddesses are real and hold great power, but their power is not the source of life. No, their power is suited for nothing but betrayal. They slumber now, but that will only last for so long. They must be stopped at all costs. All I have left is the power of destruction. A power I will gleefully use to execute those traitorous wretches. plot The four goddesses have been reincarnated inside mortal bodies. Due to luck or fate, they have been drawn together. However, they have yet to awaken to who they really are. Because of this, they are defenseless against those that would cause them harm. But all is not lost, the young Kallisto remembers herself and quickly moves to defend her beloved sisters. But alone she does not possess the power to save them. She recruits the help of young girls with great potential, granting them magical powers. These girls are tasked with protecting the goddesses until they awaken. As well they must attempt to spur the goddesses minds to remember who they are. setting The world's a bit of a mess. For a lot of people it's basically a utopia, but for the rest it really sucks. The important place right now is the country Kayo, which is led by a bunch of traditionalists who don't like change. The head lady, Estole Syv, is actually pretty interested in change but she's gotta fight against all the old ladies who don't so not much gets done. But that's not all that helpful-like, more importantly there's the Opium Institute, the school that the goddesses are at. And also the school where Kalli grabs girls to help her, in case that wasn't obvious. It's a rather new school, only been around for a few years, but it's already considered rather prestigious simply because of Mother Opium being a really important person. It's also got a bit of infamy about because of Mother Opium openly supporting men's rights and the cranky old ladies in the government being against that. Only cranky people really care about that though. So yeah the goddesses are at this school and it's, like, camping week where everybody goes to a fancy park and stays in an air-conditioned cabin and then say they spent time in nature and that's where the main events of the story happen. Also there's two other countries which might be relevant: Nayo and Layo. Nayo is like Kayo except not a theocracy also the men's rights movement there is really big and well-supported. Nayo is also right next to Kayo. Meanwhile Layo is like, on the bottom of the world and super mysterious and different from Nayo and Kayo. People don't usually travel between the two continents because plane tickets are expensive and Layo is weird. lines ...Because of how important religion is to people in Kayo, all girls are required to declare which goddess they follow by the time they turn thirteen. This is their "Line of Belief." They are also considered practicing or nonpracticing depending on whether or not they actually follow their chosen religion and believe in the goddesses or not... There are four lines, one for each goddess. Alexian Nayrist Kallistles Laylites powers The powers granted to the various characters follow a simple (well, theoretically simple), two-part system of Element and Modifier. Each Element decides what one can manipulate and each Modifier how they manipulate it. Elements: Water Ice Fire Thunder Hope Soul Light Darkness Earth Time Modifiers: Shield Eye Fury Adept Vine Blade Elemental Pulse Breaker Fist Echo Laylite Weaponry rules Keep calm. This RP is made to cause your character to suffer, often by events beyond your control, expect things to upset you and be prepared to rein in your emotions. No godmodding, powerplaying, etc. These are general RP taboos and they shouldn’t be done here. I won’t be going over them here, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t still a problem. No metagaming, do your best to separate your knowledge from your character's. Keep Suism in check. Mary Sues aren’t truly a binary, off/on kind of deal. They are more fluid a concept. Welcome all to the reboot of a reboot. I swear, this time I know what I'm doing. Major changes (for those who were here before, proper interest check rundown after): Not doing the school setting. Or rather, events will not take place specifically at the school. I'm not set entirely on what, but it'll be a school trip of some kind The goddesses are going to have their memories wiped for a lot longer Following from the above, the goal will not be joining up with the goddesses to fight sinister forces. Rather, you'll be running a sort of tower defense game until the goddesses can be awoken I'm going to more clearly define everyone's powers and likely nerf the goddesses down to just having two elements Sharp will be more fleshed out, I hope The Eye of Hope will be 10x edgier Her is going to be pretty much completely different Alexus will be less whimsical and may have a different modifier I will be less whimsical For those of you who weren't around for my previous attempts at this monster, here's the rundown: Four goddesses get yoinked from godhood and trapped in mortal bodies, conveniently all land at the same school. Meanwhile, sinister forces are at work trying to destroy the goddesses. The players are recruited to help the goddesses fight against said forces. And then everything goes to shit because Lexi changes her mind about something ten posts in and screws everything up. K, now, proper thing ANKL is a story about a utopian world on the brink of collapse. Society holds different rules depending on one's sex, this of course works out poorly for around half of the population, but that's the price of a perfect world. Of course this doesn't matter much to you, you're a teenage girl attending a prestigious (albeit somewhat controversial) school, life is good for you. But soon things will change for you. You'll encounter the goddesses of myth and acquire supernatural powers. With these powers you will defend the goddesses from those who would cause them harm until they can awake to their true identities. Along the way, your resolve will be tested and you may find yourself awakening as well as the world slowly reveals just how cruel it can be. ANKL sports a shiny power system that lots of people seem to like. One is granted an Element, such as Fire or Thunder, and a Modifier, such as Pulse or Fury. The combination of the two creates a unique ability, such as a Fire Pulse shooting pulses of fire. Also there's some neat stuff revolving around control and offensive/defensive capability.
