KoL is gr8. Although you do have to have enough patience to play around limited adventures, especially early on in an ascension.
-
I've tried to solve the Timburr puzzle multiple times without help, so I think I got enough patience
-
Just seen a good few complaints about the setup. It's pretty similar to other F2P setups, although IotMs are usually more intricate than "buy me for more adventures" and usually require strategic use to get value from them. Even without there's still plenty of strategy to minimizing the number of adventures, and in turn days, needed to ascend.

[IC] TFW Chapter 2: Wrath

Cheryn Cheryn had been to the child bank many times over the last couple of days. It was empty of children now, although several empty stasis pods remained. Nothing seemed to have exploded here. But there was a suspicious flicker of orange light coming from the door to the installation room. Wendy "I think you misunderstand." Wendy said as they eye followed along with the swinging. "I didn't do this, or at least not intentionally. Whatever this is, it's beyond my control." And considering that Wendigo's creations never had eyes, it was more advanced than what she could do as well. -

Merlin Merlin looked back around the corner. If she was wrong, then they could backtrack to the last intersection and try to find a way around. Unfortunately, she was right. Occupying the space they had shortly before was another wall. Well that was a pain. "The maze changes shape." She said, "It's like Labyrinth... Which you wouldn't know. I wonder if I have a copy, we should play it once we get back." She pointed at Tallow, who jumped nervously in response. "You, take Forge and go find whatever control center they have." She added instructions for Forge, "Give me a metal sphere. Heat it up when you get there, cool it if you run into trouble." Once the two were gone she added instructions for the rest. They were rather simple. "Everyone else, try to smash the nearest wall." She followed this by placing her hand on the wall next to her and blasting it with a sustained stream of fire that began to rapidly melt through it. Tallow Tallow, or maybe Selene, (Frankly he wasn't sure how this whole "person name," "experiment name" thing worked. Caliber said a person name was important, but nobody ever called her Ballista.) jumped in surprise when Merlin pointed him out. He recovered from the shock as quickly as possible and tried to understand his new assignment. Since the maze was able to change, Merlin wanted him to use his Spark to move freely and search for the device that controlled those changes. Once Forge had done her part, he took her hand and shifted them into a wisp. Their bodies and all the sensations that came with vanished in an instant. They were replaced with a feeling of lightness. Tallow and Forge could still see and hear, but their vision was distorted like seeing through an orb. Without bodies they couldn't speak, but their minds were intertwined through the wisp, allowing instantaneous transmission of thoughts and ideas. If they focused hard enough, these transmissions could be forced into the form of words. Loki Much to Ice's surprise, she found Loki precisely mimicking one of Merlin's more obvious tics by chewing on her right pinky nail while considering what was apparently a tough question. Even the tilt of Loki's head matched Merlin's. "Well, I've been having trouble sleeping, yeah." She seemed like she wanted to make another joke, but instead continued, "And there are chills sometimes. Also sometimes a weird knotting feeling in my chest." She seemed embarrassed or even slightly scared when bringing up these symptoms. -

[IC] TTG Chapter 4: Greed
Shamitako replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Libra vs. Strider Morgan's delayed reaction proved a fatal mistake. Well before her punch had a chance to connect, Temperance's hammer slammed into her shoulder. A storm of fire and sound erupted from the point of impact. The hammer was backed by the cheers and excitement of hundreds of spectators; the force of that energy fed into its explosive swing. Strider and Temperance were both sent flying away. Strider smashed through several rock formations before slamming into the wall. She collapsed in a mangled heap, the mech's arm completely absent and many of its other systems destroyed. Temperance, who had been expecting to be sent flying, managed to use her hammer as a shield while she smashed her way to the wall. It actually ended up with one head stuck in the wall, with Temperance perched atop the other. She waited to make sure Strider didn't get up before dispelling her mech and exiting the battlefield. -
Terumi Despite what Terumi might think of the town's value, he did actually find quite a lot on offer in the town. A variety of small shops each dedicated to a specific craft, varying from food and clothing to swords and guns. There was also housing about: apartments, homes, and hotel-like establishments. All of them seemed to require payment, but so far Terumi hadn't seen any form of currency yet.

Oleander seemed to know her way around dark places, so Groove intentionally slowed his pace to keep her ahead of him. Right now they knew nothing of what enemy threatened them, they needed to tread as carefully as possible. All of his senses were on high alert, seeking for any sign of an incoming attack. The fear and anticipation ate at his mind. Groove knew this sensation far too well, it was the sensation that someone was about to die. He didn't want that someone to be himself or any of his companions, so he grabbed ahold of that fear and used it to sharpen his senses further. He couldn't erase it, so he did what he could to use it. -

YouTube finally hit hard enough to turn me against them. They can take my political commentary. They can have the tits and the memes. Game critique? Take it. But how dare they, how dare they, make Noble sad. >:c

Suguri SP "Of course." Suguri agreed, "But we can worry about fighting when the time comes. As I already said, I don't think we have much choice about fighting, we'd be working to make it to the fighting." The first thing they needed was shelter. As hospitable as the white-haired girl was being, Suguri doubted she was just going to give them a place to stay.
-
Mokou "It's just a name." the guide told the oni girl. As soon as the other oni girl returned from the public restroom, the guide began walking again. This time the building they were brought to had "焼き鳥" painted on its wooden door at around shoulder height. She led the group inside. The room inside was rather small, most of it being taken up by a bar that spanned across it and the stools placed in front of the bar. Behind the bar was a grill and a doorway with stairs inside leading up to the second floor. The guide went behind the counter, grabbed some ingredients from underneath the bar, and started preparing something. Those who cared would note this as the first time she took her hands out of her pockets since they'd first met her. "The food here is spicy." She said over her shoulder as she worked. Suguri SP Suguri had rejoined the group as they neared her, although during their travels she had remained silent. She had taken the chance to use the latrine as well before heading to the next location. As it seemed like the red pants girl was intended to provide them food, she took a seat at the end of the bar and waited. Although the town had many residents, it seemed to her that most of them were doing their best to avoid associating with the newcomers. That would put a wrench in her plan of teaming up with someone more knowledgeable, it looked like she'd have to work with the lot she was brought in with. She turned herself so that she could see the other four that had come here. "It seems like it would be a good idea for us to attempt to work together somehow." She offered, "I don't think our captor will give us much choice when it comes to fighting or escaping, living in this town presents a challenge on its own."
-
Mokou After half an hour, maybe forty-five minutes (it was hard to judge the passage of time in this unchanging place) of walking, the group arrived at the town. There were a surprising number of people about, coming in all shapes and sizes. It wasn't a bustling metropolis, but it was far from deserted. Under these circumstances, however, more people wasn't necessarily comforting. A few people on the street glanced towards the newcomers, but most took no notice of them. Their guide stopped walking in front of a smaller building. "Latrine" was carved into the stone above the door, much to the desperate Rei's relief. "Welcome to the grand tour." the girl told them, "I always start with the most important place. But make it quick." Also Terumi... Arrived shortly before everyone else and thus was left to explore the town on his own.

[IC] TFW Chapter 2: Wrath

(OOC: Apologies, still not feelin' the Merpost. I'll force it Mondat if it doesn't come to me sooner) Loki "Nah, I haven't felt any of that." Loki answered, "But could you put down that blood thing anyways? I bet it'll give Genie a scare." She snickered at the thought of it. She did realize the importance of all this medical mumbo-jumbo, but she couldn't help cracking some jokes. It wasn't like her examiner would actually do it, so it was fine. Wendy Wendigo nodded, "Yes. I've attempted many times to alter their directive. But if it is possible, I am not yet capable of it." The creature bounced off of Anemone's finger, almost like a balloon, and quickly returned to its course. "There is more. Come." Wendy went over to the bed, getting down on her hand and knees to look under it. The strand of flesh that had wormed its way down to the floor had also spread out underneath the bed. The area beneath was coated almost entirely in a fleshy mass, almost like a mouth. And in the back of that mouth was a single eye staring out. -

Min-Su Min-Su laughed in response to the question. It was a cheerful sort of laugh. "Me, help you?" She said, "I was under the impression you were here to help me." She cleared some loose hairs from her face as a few more half-giggles spilled out. "You're both here to help me find my daughter after all." -
Mokou The girl opened her eyes and looked around at the four still nearby. She seemed unimpressed, or perhaps just grumpy after being awoken from a nap. "Hmmph. Come on then." Was all she said before standing up and walking towards the town. Suguri SP Suguri paused when the little alien girl ran past her in tears. She considered trying to stop her, but decided against it. She looked back to search for what might have caused such a panic and spotted the man in the yellow coat who looked quite angry. She stood still and waited for him to pass. As she did she noticed the others attempting to wake the sleeping girl. Seeing as she was looking for someone more experienced with this world, it was probably worthwhile to return to the group if they were successful. Further, even if they weren't very useful, she'd have the easiest time befriending those she already shared common ground with. In the end, she ended up just standing and staring.

Terumi Unfortunately for Terumi, no snakes came out of his ring. Everything up until the point where the attack would have fired went exactly as expected, but no attack occured. He just looked kind of stupid. Nibiiro Eek! Don't hurt me! Nibiiro's nervous panic peaked when Terumi glared at her. She called up one of her robots and attempted to fire a beam of energy at him, but no beam fired. She tried several more times before giving up. Giving up in this case meaning jumping over the wall and running off towards the town as fast as her little legs could carry her. (OOC: I asked y'all to wait :c Attacks don't work outside designated fights. Bullets don't fire, magic fails, punches don't throw, etc.)
-
Nibiiro Nibiiro watched as the two strangers, who were strange in many ways, went at each other with angry words. This was the worst. Not only had she failed her mission, she was trapped in this horrible place with these bullies. No... Please don't fight. She urgently wanted them to stop, but she had no way to communicate this. Instead she attempted to make herself less noticeable, but her nervous shuffling about actually served to have the opposite effect. Oh please don't notice me.

Suguri SP Suguri stayed mostly quiet after Abyss sent them on their way. She was a rather long ways outside her element here and it took a while to process. Her existence was created to defend the world, now she had been stolen from that world, so what was she to defend? It seemed her best option was to win fights and attempt to escape so she could return to her post. With that in mind, she didn't feel it would harm her goals to attempt to befriend some of those who had been brought here alongside her. None of them stood out as useful allies but a couple seemed dangerous. She looked down at the bracelet on her wrist, -1. If that was right and Abyss was telling the truth, then she wouldn't be able to die unless she lost at least twice. She might be able to use the fact that she could safely lose once as a bargaining chip somehow. Let an opponent have a win and they would owe her a favor. With all of this in mind, she decided her best option was to head into town and look for assistance from someone who was more experienced with this world. Thus, without saying anything to her companions, she started off towards the stone town in the near distance. Rei Rei couldn't spot anything nearby with the appearance of a bathroom and there was no foliage in sight. There was always the girl sleeping against the tombstone if she wanted to try for directions.

OOC thread Suddenly displaced from where they had been before by a flash of white light, seven people found themselves standing on a circular stone platform in a purple void, unable to speak or move. They were spaced evenly around the platform, facing a stone pillar in the center. After what had to have been at least a quarter hour, the hologram of a woman's head appeared above the pillar. For each contestant it appeared to be staring directly at them. "Welcome, [Name]." To each it spoke their own name, "I am Abyss, I've brought you here to my land of Bullet Hell. You are here to fight in gladiatorial matches for my amusement." Abyss laughed, suggesting she was already amused. "Take note of the bracelets you're wearing." They found their heads turned to look at their wrists. Attached to each of them was a silver bracelet with a screen embedded in it similar to a digital watch. It displayed their name and a number. "That number is your Death Counter. Should you be defeated in battle, a number from one to six will be chosen at random. If your Death Counter is greater than or equal to that number, you will die. Otherwise, your Death Counter will increment by one. Be aware that the counter bracelet itself is only a display, the counter itself is an inescapable part of you now. So don't worry about the bracelet exploding if you try to take it off. If for some reason you do feel a need to remove it, you should take care to prevent it from being stolen. But don't fear it being stolen from your wrist, only you can remove it." Everyone found themselves returned to facing Abyss's floating head. "Some of you may have abilities that interact with life and death, or other abilities that function differently in this world. If you tap the bracelet's screen, it will project a display that present a basic rundown of your abilities." The head vanished and their was another flash of light, accompanied by Abyss's voice. "Good luck. And don't worry about when you'll be fighting, it will be made obvious when it happens." When the white cleared again the group found themselves still on the platform, but now with no pillar, different surroundings, and the ability to move and speak. Waist-height walls surrounded them, except in one spot where a short staircase led down to a dirt path, which in turn led to a small town filled with stone buildings. At the bottom of the staircase was a stone marker, disturbingly similar to a gravestone, with two words carved into it. "New Arrivals." And on the ground with her back leaning against the marker slept a girl with long white hair that was tied with papery ribbons. She wore a discolored tan shirt and distinctive red pants plastered with papers similar to the ones in her hair. (OOC:)

Artemis "Oh, yeah. I'm Artemis." Artemis said quickly, feeling embarrassed for not introducing herself sooner. The woman sat up, turning to face the girls as she did so. Her right eye opened, revealing itself to be emerald green. "I am called Min-Su." She said in that same, quiet tone. She held a sense of subtle beauty. Other than her eyes, nothing really stood out about her. But when looked on as a whole, it was impossible to deny that she was very pretty. "Did you girls need anything?" -

Forum Name: Noir Character Name: Suwabe Akemi Character Origin: League You can't be from Leeg-land, if you want to play a Leeg charrie you need to make an expy of them into Danmaku World Appearance: Dressed in garbs of royal Romanian colors of white, red and gold. Wears a leather mask for depth perception. Basically he's this guy. HP: 45 Health Energy: 50/130 Death Counter: -1 Both of these are wrong. You have 10 Health and 4 Charge Wins: 0 Stats: Character Stats [30] Health: 10 Graze: 10 Charge: 4 Death in Four Acts [6]: Whenever Akemi lands a successful shot, he gains a stack of Inspiration, stacking accumulatively up to 4 times. Each stack of inspiration grants Akemi with +4 Graze. If any of Akemi’s shots directly hit, he gains two stacks of Inspiration instead. Where'd the dropoff go? :/ Whisper (Shot) [30] Power: 24 Rate: 0 Spread: 1 Caught Out [5]:Upon inflicting a direct attack, Whisper gains +5 rate and Akemi moves an additional space next round. I'm pretty sure this isn't how I okayed this effect. Just have it proc for whatever you use next round Curtain Call (Shot) [30] Power: 12 Rate: 4 Spread: 10 Execution [6]: Reduce one space from the target’s movement next turn. Inflict 1.5* Power instead if the target is at 20 health or less. This is a really weird shift that I'd rather not deal with. Also 20 HP varies greatly in what percentage of HP it is Captive Audience (Bomb) [80] Cost: 120 Power: 30 Rate: 4 Spread: 30 Wave [4]: Hits everywhere within its spread area at quartered [Power] and [Rate]. The cost of this likely wouldn't scale down in proportion to the damage, and Wave is hard enough to fail to balance as it is. Also if you're going to change something, please rename it Beauty in Death [12]: Captive Audience attacks once more upon killing a target or when Akemi possesses full Inspiration stacks, inflicting half of its original damage. Beauty in Death will not occur twice if Akemi meets both criteria. The fights here are entirely 1v1s -

Strider vs. Libra The energy of the crowd erupted again as the fight came back in full force, the oil of anticipation igniting a wildfire of excitment in the forest of brain cells... Or something like that. Shrugging off ill-fated metaphors, Temperance snatched her hammer and jumped for the door. "Let's go Kayli!" She announced cheerfully. The railgun fire smashed the ice to bits and even mangled a wheel, but for the most part Libra's maneuverability was unharmed. Meanwhile, one of the slings had spun up and fired another shot. But this projectile wasn't just a clump of metal, it was a tiny girl with an oversized hammer. And that tiny girl was careening towards Strider at blistering speeds. In the half-instant it took her to close the gap between herself and Strider, Temperance swung one end of her hammer so that it would smash into Strider's right shoulder. The force of the swing combined with Temperance's already physics-defying speed caused the air around the hammer to ignite as it moved to obliterate Strider. -

Artemis Artemis followed Aera through the teleporter to the woman's room. It was essentially the same as the twins' room, save for possessing only a singular bed. Laying atop said bed in a purple silk nightgown was the woman who had accompanied them. Her jet black hair was extremely long. It had been tied up during boarding, so its length wasn't as obvious, but now Artemis could see that it was almost as long as the woman herself. The woman's left eye, the one near to the teleporter, was wide open and staring at the intruders. Artemis looked into it and felt like she was sinking into its ocean blue depths. "Hello girls." The woman broke the awkward silence Artemis hadn't realized was there. "Oh!" Artemis started. She quickly scrambled to regain her composure. The way the woman spoke was quiet but held the unmistakable air of confidence, Artemis tried to match that confidence with her own. "Hello miss." Somehow she had managed to succeed in steadying herself. While the woman's lips stayed neutral, Artemis was sure she saw that oceanic eye smile at her. -
Finally finished 3rei. IDFK what took me so long >_> I feel like there was a slight quality dip, but the budget increase more or less covered it.
Still don't get why people are so insistent that Prillya's tone has gotten darker over its run. I still feel the first season was the heaviest. I suppose 3rei didn't have room to dedicate entire episodes to SoL stuff, so if you only go by the ratio of happy:dreary content I guess it does win out. But you'll still have a devil of a time convincing me that either 2wei hits darker than S1
