Still mad at the Council, though, giving that poumpous big nosed rat Roger so much unchecked power and thinking of selling out to Academia is unforgivable, and that's without considering the hellhole City is. I suddenly feel the need to, like, jump into another world, and forget for a long while of college, of tests, of deadlines and just play around, living life on a slow pace for a bit.

Arc V, logically should happen long after Zexal, making Yuya the succesor of Yugi, Jaden/Judai, Yusei and Yuma as the lastest friendly worldsaving duelist. And yet, it seems like the whole setting of the dimensions is "the series, as if the guys never existed", the City in Synchro D's split didn't happen because of the Zero Reverse, just because the people are jerks and the leaders aren't worth a damn. It looks like many things from the other series (Momentum, The Light of Ruin, the Signers, the Number, Barians, etc) either don't exist or aren't mentioned. Be up for the Friendship Cup, it becomes YGO + Mario Kart.

And let's face it, the game is basically cursed since day one, next time we know, the War started because the equivalent of Chtulhu is in a card and needs souls to release it and remake reality as they wish. And what are humans made of in this series? Kurosaki was knocked down a long flight of stairs and hurt his ribs, Yuya got into what would be a fatal bike crash, I'm pretty sure Raptor-boy shot his Satellite on (spoiiers: The mole) to kill, and Yuzu got into the lastest atrocity in you know where, and save for the last case, they were all conscious and/or ready to fight again within what could only be like a day or two.

By the way he played it against Yuzu, it looked like a good Burn strategy would beat him without that much trouble, but we only saw like five cards, so too early to tell.

So, you know, a series has two factions, the protagonist is in the middle of them, and neither of them is portrayed as all that good, okay, no problem, the world isn't black and white, but what happens when you go too far and make the fans want to burn both sides to the ground? That's kind of a big slip up, don't ya think?

Watching YGO! Arc V, how will this last episode make it past the Censors, cos damn.

Oh, there's no way this episode is making it mast the censors. Bondage, someone enjoying said bondage as it happens to him, a main character's motorcycle being knocked off the highway, crashing into the building and then into motorcycles (all done in first person perspective). Yeah…no way this episode is making it past the censors. I mean, damn. I haven't sen YGO be that brutal since Divine and Z-ONE.

Would have prefered Azumarill, Togekiss or something with Teleport, myself, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. Good thing Talonflame appeared, lest we fight and get cornered in the middle of the sea in a sinking ship.

One thought about fiction in general. I know some people want to write dark stories, or deal with something in a gritty way, but when is dark too dark? Where do you draw the line on where the story doesn't cause shock, horror or some other emotion and just brings apathy?

That's up to the writer, and to the people reading. They choose that for them self etc... That's really how it works. Dark for the sake of Dark is the easiest way, because it not having any purpose then "lol, blood and gore and sadness and etc" it tends to lose impact over time bacues each time you do it... they jsut expect the outcome. The readers care less and less aobut it lol.
