  1. Confirming we are still on 2nd floor, will prolly post on monday to advance... EDIT: I have checked the whole topic twice, and I don't really get Color's last post... Why exactly is she leaving? If she is leaving at all, I am really not sure I got that post right...
  2. My week is over, see you guys on monday! Goodnight everyone :)

  3. I'd generally recommend 252 HP over 252 SpDef, because its SpDef is already 350-ish unboosted, and with Assault Vest it reaches levels Blissey can only dream of even without EVs... On the other hand, HP EVs are needed to have a better time at taking physical attackers which may want to try their chances on Goodra, specially if you plan on abusing Gooey... Spoeaking of abilities, why do I seem to be the only one to use Sap Sipper on the Assault Vest set? It actually turns it into a hell of a Ferrothorn counter (with limited Speed Gyro Ball won't hurt that much, leaving the not-so-common Thunder Wave as the only move Ferro can use to hurt Goodra, which in turn has Fire Blast...) and that is always a good thing: Techniloom also finds itself in a tight spot because, with max HP, Goodra is not clearly 2KOed by unboosted Mach Punch, which is pretty much the only move Breloom has that is capable of dealing damage to Goodra. Spore in general becomes less threatening, and Grass-type special attackers, for example Roserade and most importantly Venusaur, are completely obliterated... Seriously, don't overlook Sap Sipper!
  4. I love how the whole concept of Mega Evolution pretty much killed the point of this topic... Also, necrobump. #minimodding
  5. I am actually the worst member of this forum because I think Smogon's banlist is mostly right, and that Blaziken in particular is absurdly broken and should be banned No but seriously, I find this whole "hate" thing absolutely stupid, no offense meant for anyone. I mean, they are arrogant and childish for going around saying that they are the only ones who understand Pokemon and that everyone should follow their directions, but those who go around saying how much they hate Smogon are not better... Also because generalizing an entire community is something very stupid to do, the people like those Noivy was referring to are rarely seen on the actual forum at all, and in general I can say, from direct experience, that the people who can really be called "the Smogon community", as in those who actively contribute to it on the forum, are much more mature/kind/clever than one may think judging only from the random childish idiots on the old PO server (and on Showdown nowadays for that matters)... Which by the way is true for every community, from PO beta to Reborn itself: if any of you have spent more than 10 minutes on Reborn server, you will know that it is regularly taken by storm by random noobs who are like "where get starter", "anyone batallar" and "lol this game sucks you cannot play". Would you judge Reborn only basing on that, and claim this community is full of random noobs? I don't think so. Tl;dr: generalizing is a bad thing. P.S.: if someone back in my PO Beta days had told me that one day I would have been the one defending Smogon's community in a discussion, I would have probably laughed...
  6. Yo it's me! Also, let's keep summoning Karp untill Karp actually posts
  7. Oh God a female Code Geass lover... I'll really need you to have a good, long talk with my gf... This being said, welcome to Reborn! The game is the most difficult, cruel, addicting piece of digital art that was ever released in the Pokemon universe, so you are going to enjoy it. Also I remember there was a topic by Ame stating that this might not be the best time to get into the league thing, but I don't seem to be able to find that topic, so yeah.
  8. Not here I am afraid... Next poster will be... Someone who is Water-type (or at least dual type Water/something or something/Water) in the "What type are you?" test!
  9. I am always doubtful about HO teams, specially when they rely on outright uber Pokemon that are banned in every universe where common sense has arrived, except Reborn. This being said, I would really recommend the Choice Band set on Azu over the Belly Drum one, simply because your only anti-hazard tactic is a shaky one (Magic Bounce on a Psychic Pokemon, a broken one but still a Psychic one, which you are using without attacking moves: Ttar can easily Crunch you to death and set up SR later...) and given that, as you said, Azu is the only Pokemon that can take a hit and thus is likely to be switched in (for example into opposing Talonflames which attempt to take on your Blaziken), having to rely on a move that takes away half of your HPs to attempt a sweep is not that wise of an idea imo. Also because after using Belly Drum once, specially if it previously took damage from hazards, it is left wide open to a revenge kill from the very Talonflame it is supposed to wall/revenge/take on... So yeah, run CB Azu over Belly Drum Azu. And hope that hostile common sense from space never lands on Reborn. These are my advices.
  10. Except Shadow Tag doesn't stop switching moves like U-Turn, Volt Switch and Baton Pass...
  11. Not quite I'd say... Someone with their Reborn team in their signature!
  12. May 1, 2011: Aaron Ramsey scores a goal against Man UTD. Bin Laden dies the day after. October 2, 2011: Aaron Ramsey scores a goal against Tottenham. Steve Jobs dies the day after. October 19, 2011: Aaron Ramsey scores a goal against Marseille. Gheddafi dies the day after. February 11, 2012: Aaron Ramsey scores a goal against Sunderland. Whitney Houston dies the day after. November 30, 2013: Aaron Ramsey scores a goal against Cardiff. Paul Walker dies the day after.

I hate those who ruin a good joke by bringing up actual facts... I should have known an actual Arsenal fan would have shown up sooner or later!

That would be true apart from the fact that I'm a Liverpool fan :P

  13. You are not. It is just that and thus, claiming that Metagross is godly just because it won you that game, makes no sense. Aside for some minor problems with the individual sets (that could be solved simply by reading the posts in this topic, including my first one) your team is a good one, but honestly Metagross just doesn't cut it. Don't get me wrong, it used to be a great Pokemon, it still is to a certain extent, but sadly this generation two things happened, and they both hit Metagross hard: 1) The Fire type as a whole got a huge push, with Mega Charizard Y gaining Drought and thus enabling dual sun plays (I tested such a team with surprisingly good results), Blaziken becoming even more broken than it already was (and sadly Reborn allows it in OU) and Talonflame not giving a damn about Stealth Rocks and Flare Blitz+Life Orb recoil thanks to priority Roost. 2) Steel doesn't resist Ghost and Dark anymore, which means that Mega Mawhile/Kangaskan and everybody's favorite Aegislash can use their powerful priority moves (Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak respectively) to score guaranteed kills on poor Metagross. Talonflame in particular is a problem, because your only physical wall is weak to fire: basically, if you kill something with Metagross using EQ and your opponent realizes you are scarfed, all they need to do is to send out Talonflame, use Swords Dance on your obligatory switch, and then just sit there and whipe out your entire team, Jolteon being too frail to take a Brave Bird to the face after hazards. So yeah, in order to improve you need to do 3 things: 1) Solve the minor issues with some movesets (Absol, Jolteon, Blissey) following the tips given in this topic. 2) Replace Metagross with either a spiker to pair with your Stealth Rock-using Skarmory (I suggested Greninja because I find it to be the best one this gen, but there are also other ones) or with an all-out Talonflame counter (for example Tyranitar, which can also use Stealth Rock, thus leaving Spikes to Skarmory). 3) Get better at playing, as in coming up with correct strategies and prediction: this however is something that will come with experience! Just remember: in order to make experience you need to measure yourself with the top dogs in town, not with random noobs unable to put up a proper fight... Not all the so called "pros" are of the "lol you noob I destroyed you" kind, there are also those who will be happy to give you tips to improve your competitive mentality! I myself could help you from time to time if we where to meet on the server, even if I rarely come there as of late because I don't want to battle on Reborn untill Blaziken gets the ban it so desperately needs... But well, if you promise to be a good Padawan and not to give in to the Dark Side of competitive battling (that is, using broken stuff like the aforementioned Blaziken) I will help you when I drop by EDIT: actually do not use Tyranitar as a Talonflame counter, you are already weak enough to Fighting and Fairy without making things worse... Use something that can take on Talonflame without giving Azumarill a free switch in, for example physically defensive Rotom-W...
  14. So let me get this straight: they make this super-cool Pokemon named Nidoking, which is supposed to be a hell of a physical attacker but unfortunately lacks firepower, so in Gen 5 they give it an ability that boosts all its SPECIAL attacks, then realizing that the whole thing is messed up, what do they do in Gen 6? THEY RAISE ITS ATTACK. Without giving it any new physical move that can take advantage from its ability. I hate Game Freak when they do things like this...

What do you mean. Nidoking's so strong that with one swing of its mighty tail can snap a telephone pole as if it were a matchstick.

^ pokemon dex entries, the most absurd things I have ever read in I think my entire life lol.

      There's always Poison Point! :P

  15. Reckless/Rock Head Archeops Also, I want an Ice-type Physical attacker, like ANY Ice-type Physical attacker (be it Avalugg, Beartic, Mamoswine or a new one) to get Refrigerate. We would finally have a decent physical Ice-type move in Return.
  16. Well, that battle was horridly full of misplays on both sides, you were fighting a guy who uses freaking Blast Burn on Blaziken, and I believe that says a lot... Any half-decent player with a correct set on Blaziken and a quarter of a brain would have used protect with Blaziken on your EQ attempt, only to Mega Evolve, outspeed and score the kill with Flare Blitz on the following turn, thanks to the dreaded Speed Boost (that the guy doesn't even seem to be using by the way). Tl;dr: you were fighting a total noob with less than zero understanding of the game, that doesn't really prove anything. It's like claiming that Real Madrid should buy Nani and play him over Cristiano Ronaldo because Nani could score 3 goals against a local amateur team.
  17. Ehi Cofagrigus is actually recognized as a strong, well established Pokemon in UU... It is the best Spinblocker and one of the best physical walls in Gen 5 UU, as a matter of fact!
  18. Bah, screw timezones, I am off to bed...

  19. 2 hours breeding a 4 IVs Chespin with a 3 IVs Chespin, and I keep getting offspings with 2 IVs... The boxes in my PC are filling up fast! I'll have to start releasing soon!

  20. A nice evening of Attitude Era wrestling and Pokemon breeding waits for me... For those who had agreed a trade with me and haven't done it yet: feel free to message me as soon as you are ready! I'll keep an eye on this page and be ready to trade at any time :)

  21. I am off to university class! I'll see you people later!
