  1. K_H, typhlosionerulez The officer looked at them with a panicked expression. "Sh-she's through this door and down the stairs. There's a hallway, and the cell's at the end. Please, just don't kill us!" ------------------------------------ Hukuna The bartender showed no expression in response to Viktor's statement. "Ah," he began. "So you're one of them, eh? The 'Awakened' as I believe they've been called?" He held up his hands. "Relax, though. I'm not as judgmental as others. I think it's the person that really matters, not what extra talent they may have." He smiled. "Best of luck to you in your new job. God knows what they put you people through."
  2. I find it a bit ustrange that a tarot card would have that effect, given that it seems very specific to the situation our characters are all in, but I don't really mind personally if you go with it. Also, good luck Rose, and nice to have you hosting us!
  3. Jory, rustytengo The guard held out a hand as they approached. "Invitations please." He inspected the cards that were handed over before giving a signal to the other guard. He waved them through as he opened the gate. "Welcome. Please enjoy the party." Lux and Beverly walked through the gates, finding themselves on the main lawn. A series of paths wove around the gardens, while a larger main path led to the estate. The were small groups of people walking the paths, admiring the gardens and talking amongst themselves. --------------------------------------------- Hukuna The bartender smiled as he turned back to the bar. "I know the feeling. I think we've all had those days." He grabbed a bottle and a glass and began pouring it. "So, what do you do that's got you in on a party like this, Mr. ...?" the bartender asked, raising an eyebrow and ending it in a question. "You must be somebody important, though I'm afraid I don't recognize you." ------------------------------------------------ Stratos The man nodded. "Come to the car when you're changed." (((You can skip to the party if you want. No need to do the guard scene.))) --------------------------------------------------------- K_H, typhlosionrulez The duo walked through the broken door, finding themselves in a narrow corridor with a steel door at the end. Three police officers came out, armed with pistols. They all had their guns raised. "Put your hands in the air and get on your knees!" one shouted. "You're breaking into a government building! We will not hesitate to fire if you come any closer!" It was easy to tell that the officers were uneasy. They probably had no idea what had destroyed the camera and the door.
  4. I had always imagined solid colors, though I suppose abnormalities could happen. If it did, it would probably be seen as very strange by the society, as they would have no idea where to classify that particular Gruul... They might be rejected or exiled, depending on the chief, and even if the chief decreed that they could stay, others would probably stay away due to their own personal beliefs. That could be interesting I suppose, though it would be very rare if it did happen. So, on to the next set of questions. 1. Should the Gruul be renamed, as there is currently a clan called "Gruul" in MTG, which is a pretty popular game? I don't think they are very similar in how they look or act from what I know, but I do like to be original. 2. I've stated that they Gruul are planned to live on top of a mountain range on the southern continent. What should this range be called? Is the range named after the Gruul (Or some other word if we change their name) that inhabit it? Or did the Gruul move to the range which was already named? 3. For "houses," do the Gruul live in cave systems on the mountain side, or do they have literal villages on large, flat portions? 4. Will the chief of the group have complete control over his group, or is there an advisory body he must work with?
  5. That's kind of what I was getting at by "dive-bomb" in my post... Pretty sure he's trolling, guys.
  6. So um... yeah. I was wondering how long it would take someone to completely dive-bomb an RP here, and it seems we have our first one...
  7. Name: Garen Forrest Age: 24 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian (American) Class: Scout Support Skill: Tracking Personality: Somewhat quiet and gruff, but once he has made friends with somebody, he opens up a lot more. He prefers to think logically rather than making rash decisions, and as a Scout, he needs to be doubly sure of himself. He puts the safety of his allies above the mission, finding life to be the most important thing. He is very slow to anger, being a calm man, but when pushed over the line, he explodes into a rage. Backstory: Ever since his childhood, Garen has been obsessed with what information remains of the Earth from so long ago. He dreams of seeing the land that once had flowing waterfalls, hot deserts, lush forests, and vast oceans to see how it would compare to the world he was born into. He wishes to see the animals mentioned in the books he has read, though there is no hope of that for him now. The idea that humans originated somewhere else fascinates him. He considers himself a simple man, wanting little other than to explore the land around him. Garen is a man of nature, as he appreciates the life of the forests and plants around them. He spent his time learning to hunt, fish, trap, and track. Some would say he lives in the past, simplifying his entire lifestyle, wishing to see the old land, and spending all his time around nature. Appearance: Tall and muscular, Garen is the essence of the physical. He keeps his brown hair long, reaching down to his back in a ponytail. He has green eyes and a broad chin, covered in a light stubble. He prefers to wear vests and khaki pants with boots. Additional: Not really. I imagine him as a lumberjack style of man, set in a futuristic world. I thought it would be interesting and fun to RP a man that clashes with his time period, while still synchronizing with the setting.
  8. Well, you said the doors were big, but I didn't know they were that big. Though if they are large enough that he could fit through the keyhole, I'd assume that the keyhole must also be a proportional size up from the ground... so really high. And seeing how neither Phantom or Mr. Taylor have any abilities to assist with that... they'll just have to wait for that door-opening help.
  9. Nero turned to the side and held out a hand. A Color Spray was quite an easy task, and one of the first Illusion Spells he had learned from Scuro as a child. A cone of vibrant colors spread from his outstretched hand, spinning and twisting amongst each other. He stopped the spell after a few seconds, figuring that Glicks would have seen all he needed to. He assumed that the wizard was testing his current abilities, figuring out if Nero was at the level for invisibility or not. He was determined to prove that he was. Next was an Illusion. Glicks had said it could be anything, so Nero decided to go with his favorite animal. He stuck out his right arm, the gloved hand facing palm-down in a fist. There was a screeching sound from the corner of the room, as a raven flew towards Nero, wings flapping as it landed on his hand. It looked around as it perched there, before disappearing into a wavy form of blackness when Nero waved his left hand in front of it. He looked up at Glicks, wondering what the kobold had thought. "Is this what you wanted?"
  10. I'm probably going to have to cancel my entry to this RP actually... I think I'm just to busy to be able to keep up with it right now. It's unfortunate, as this looks like it could be really good. Best of luck, Chimchain.
  11. Phantom pushed at the door Mr. Taylor had mentioned, but it was to no avail. It was simply too large for him to move. He paced around the room, finally stopping in the middle again near Mr. Taylor. It appeared that they would be stuck here until one of the titans returned or someone else came to get them. (((Sorry for the short length, just not really sure what to do...)))
  12. Nero stood in the hallway next to Glicks. He had to sort of stoop as he held the kobold's hand to compensate for the height difference. "What sort of work did you mean?" Nero asked, unsure of what else to say as Glicks led him along. He hoped he could learn what he had been hoping to from this endeavor, but he was unsure where he was being led.
  13. Well, I think it'd be more interesting if Nero was gone at that point and ends up having to try to pretend that he was there when they met a god (assuming nobody notices his disappearance). So I think I'll go that route.
  14. (And we're back, now that I finally had the time to do this.) Jory, rustytengo The car pulled up to the location of the dinner party. As Lux and Beverly stepped out, the size of the place was instantly imposed on them. The house was practically a mansion, covering at least three stories and stretching across a massive lawn. The lawn itself was decorated with fountains in the shape of angels, water pouring from their cupped hands, and multiple gardens. The estate was surrounded by a wrought-iron fence that stood around 15 feet high. The front gate was closed, with a guard standing at either side. Lux and Beverly were both dressed well, with Cedric having granted them some spending money. (((Up to you how you are dressed. Cedric is actually very wealthy, though he doesn't like to show it often.))) The driver pulled away, leaving the duo to deal with their entrance alone. Stratos There was the sound of tires on gravel as the car pulled up to the cabin. Two men were inside, one of whom exited the vehicle and approached the cabin. He had a tuxedo in his arms, presumably for Anver to change into before the dinner party he would need to get into. Hukuna Viktor, now known as Ares, found himself inside the estate, having been coerced into attending. Zeus and Poseidon stood by the two doors that led to the room, on opposite walls. They looked very much like guards, though perhaps that was to be expected, considering their jobs. There was a bar in the corner, the back shelf filled with all sorts of expensive liquor. A man was tending to it, meticulously wiping the bottles and the bar itself. He had short-kept blonde hair and blue eyes, and was dressed in a black vest covering a white shirt with a bowtie. Nothing in particular stood out about him. He appeared to be a very average man, probably hired simply for the necessity of a bartender. In contrast, the other guests currently in the room all appeared very wealthy. They were of many age groups, making small talk with each other around the room. The bartender called out, noticing Viktor standing alone. "Anything I can get you, sir? Perhaps some wine?" He gave a casual smile. "I assure you, they have almost anything you could imagine here; it's quite the collection." K_H, typhlosionrulez The duo was dropped off outside of the city, a short distance away from where they would be heading. They could see the building, as there was not much else past it besides fields. It appeared relatively small from the outside, only reaching one story into the air, but stretching a good distance across the ground. The walls were made from stone and cement, and there were no windows in sight. A security globe was stationed above the metal doors in front, watching those who would approach. It appeared they would need to deal with that first before even knowing if the doors would open. Snap Crackle Pop, King Murdoc, Chimchain The group had traveled for most of the day, finding almost no clues as to where Rebecca could be. Beetle's grandfather had tagged along when he discovered what had happened, and even Nexus had tagged along. They were now in the outskirts of New York, having searched everywhere else in the near vicinity. A car stopped a few blocks down, and two men stepped out. It was hard to get a good look at them from this far, but Beetle could see them much better through the eyes of the insects he had scattered around. One of them wore an embroidered blue coat that stretched to the ground, along with a fancy white shirt, while the other wore a black trenchcoat that hid his torso. Beetle was only able to catch a small part of their conversation since he had not really been focused on them, but what he heard snapped him into focus. "...remember, get the pyrokinetic girl and get out. Keep conflict to a minimum, and most importantly, do not force her." Beetle turned to the others quickly, breaking off contact with the insect. "I think I may have gotten a lead on Rebecca!" He pointed down the road. "Those men said something about a pyrokinetic girl, and it sounded like she was being held somewhere. It's got to be Rebecca! And besides, it's the only lead we have! I think we should follow them." Supernovae The car stopped a distance away from the location. Jude knew the plan: He would walk the rest of the way before infiltrating the target building. Still, Zweiss stepped out with him to give him a final reminder. "This is the moment, Jude. Your first mission. Remember, get the pyrokinetic girl and get out. Keep conflict to a minimum, and most importantly, do not force her. A willing ally is many times greater a benefit than a hostage. Your ability will simplify make the task." He waved a hand as he stepped back into the car. The tires spun as it drove away, leaving Jude to make his way to the destination. (((You will arrive after K_H and typhlosion have made it inside already...))) Arkhidon "Good morning. I'm just looking for some food. But after that, is there anything I should do?" Hades frowned. "...You didn't really answer my question. You aren't the best at this conversation stuff are you?" He spun the donut around his finger and shrugged. "But not really. Do what you want..." He began to walk away before spinning around again. He had a malicious grin on his face. "Actually... I'll be heading out on...'business' later today. I think it would be quite interesting for the both of us if you tagged along. How 'bout it?"
  15. So... I've been out for a few days... Will Nero have left with Glicks by this point or will he have been there when Bartimus appeared?
  16. I'll be putting a character up at some point, just haven't gotten around to it yet. As you may or may not have noticed, I've been absent on the forums the past few days... Hopefully I can get back into the flow of things sometime soon.
  17. So, do we have to pick from the classes, or can we mix-and-match skills? I like shock trooper, but would prefer acrobatics over hand-to-hand. I'm assuming that's not possible though? Also, are we limited to the weapons listed on a class, or is there some "wiggle room?" For example, using a broadsword or something on a melee class rather than a staff?
  18. I've always thought this would be interesting. I asked about using languages and language barriers back when I first started Aervana, but the idea was kind of shot down, so it never went through...
  19. (Reserved. Will finish when I have more time.) Sign-up format RoG-Members: Name: Age: 17 Appearance: Starter: Noibat Division: Combat Hometown: (Can be from any region) Background: (Mention how RoG scouted you, you didn’t find them)
  20. "Let's do this then, Ogre," Flux said as he released the Aggron from his heavy ball. He turned his gaze to the metal beast, giving it a slight smile. "Ogre, I'll need you to try prying this door open, all right?" he asked, motioning towards the structure. Without even waiting for an explanation, Ogre turned to the thick metal. In a flash of motion, his swung his right arm at the door, his claws sticking into and bending the flat surface as if it were jelly. He repeated the process with his left limb, so that both hands were stuck in the side of the door. Ogre gave out a grunt that sounded like grinding metal as he applied force to the door, pulling it sideways in its track. The door responded in kind, giving off a horrible grating sound. Slowly but surely, the door was forced open, until there was an opening wide enough to walk through. Ogre stopped, ripping his hands out of the door and stripping away some of the metal in the process. The Aggron was panting; the task had obviously been difficult, even for him. Flux patted him on the back. "Excellent work, buddy." He pulled out the heavy ball once more. "Now get some rest." That being done, he motioned towards the opening in the door, giving an extravagant sweeping bow. "After you, my fellows."
  21. Sorry I haven't updated yet. I've had soccer games all of these past few day and haven't been getting home until pretty late. It's just practice tomorrow, so hopefully I can move things along afterwards.
  22. "Then what are you waiting for? Lead the way, Kaiser!" Lars resisted the urge to smile at the irony of his superior calling him kaiser as he walked in the direction he believed would take them there. Eventually, the small group arrived at a tarmac of some sort, but the place was in an unbelievable state of chaos. People were running around, yelling orders to each other and their GAOs. He couldn't make out any specific faces though. Looking forward, there appeared to be... a giant hole? Lars stopped in his tracks, his mouth gaping. "What..." he began, looking to Surge. "Um... I think there may be a problem..."
  23. 1. The way I've envisioned it so far is that they are ruled by a chieftain, who is determined by strength. I'd think it would work best as being a lifetime position, as I can imagine an older chieftain leading, despite no longer being the strongest. When the chieftain dies, perhaps the successor is chosen by a contest of strength? Physical strength was definitely envisioned as a primary factor in their society. It is likely that stronger males may look down on the weaker ones, though this may not always be the case. 2. I'm thinking that perhaps they'll have a right of passage of some sort, like going alone into the wilderness for a while. I'd like to define some specific tasks for this, so any ideas? 3. I was thinking this would be somewhat like human traits, unless there are other ideas. Mother and father both pass down a chance for traits, but there is potential for throwback as well. I definitely agree with the tribal warrior society. That was what I had envisioned when I first came up with them. As for women, I imagined them to be less naturally bulky than males, and more slenderly built. Generally the males would protect them, but the potential for battle would still be in females if they had the wish to do so. Thoughts?
