Lars walked forward, the usual blank look apparent on his face. As he grabbed his bags, he thought about just how different life was here than it had been before. For starters, he had so much less free time, though his GAOs were certainly a good compensation. They seemed to be taking a liking to him at this point, and Malice had gone through the same sort of evolution as Dominance had before. Sleepy was the only one that had yet to change... He wondered why that could be. He shrugged off the thoughts as he returned to the line. It wouldn't do to be zoned out while Surge was speaking. Lionel had already been called out for it, and that wasn't something Lars wanted to go through.

Nero stepped off of the docks, making his way towards the group, where he hung behind. He appeared bored, and his jaw was set grimly, meaning that everything was perfectly normal with him. He ran a gloved hand through his silver hair, taking a look around. These were the Shattered Hills, the resting place of the first shard. The landscape in the distance was rather beautiful, an unusual thing in Nero's eyes. Based on what Dru had said, they were traveling to a place called Farreach. True to its name, it was quite a distance to the South. He adjusted his coat as he waited for their departure from the docks.

The number of shards and gods would be directly related, so that's no coincidence, but as for the others... that's interesting. Nice find, Super.

Again, I'm not blaming anyone. It's just the nature of your character's position at this point that's making things slow. No worries though, you'll have your action soon. Yep. I realize that it makes sense to do that. You too will get your action soon. You will all be meeting at some point... It'll either be the end of this chapter or the next one, depending on when I want to draw the line. -

I'm not calling you out on anything. That's not what I meant by active, really. Moreso as in Lux is a careful character, and you're taking the time to go around places, rather than cut right to business. You're actually one of the more "active" people on this RP, so no worries there. -
Garen walked into the forest, instantly feeling at home. He wandered a short distance into the brush, so as to avoid walking single file. He remained within eyesight of the group, so the commander could know where he was at all times. As they walked, he made note of his surroundings, picking landmarks in case the need ever arose to come back this way in a hurry. In vast forests such as these, it was easy to lose your sense of direction if you weren't careful. He put a hand on the hilt of his hunting knife as he walked, an old habit of his. The safeties on his were off, as they had been before ever boarding the ship. He did not use them except for when he had to, a rule that he had made for himself. He tried to avoid technology when he could. He glanced at the others to make sure they were following. Vixen was wearing a cloak for camouflage, and he respected that foresight on her part. His own clothes already matched the colors of the forest, though he had a similar cloak in his own bag just in case.

Arkhidon Hades simply shrugged in response, showing no reaction to the decision. "If you say so." He began walking down the right-hand path. It was empty for a long time. Eventually, they came upon a door on the right side. Hades stopped, perring through the small window. It was hard to tell for sure, since the lights were off inside, but it appeared to be some kind of equipment room. Upon trying the handle, the door was locked. Hades pulled out the laser device once more, running it along the frame of the door. When he was finished, it swung open easily. "Perhaps you can find what you're looking for in there," Hades said, motioning to the now- open room. "I'll watch out here and make sure you aren't interrupted. Perhaps I'll scan ahead a bit as well." ------------------------------------------------------------- K_H, Snap Crackle Pop Beetle stopped upon seeing the man he was chasing stop. He was indeed carrying Rebecca, who appeared unconscious. He could see Alice a bit further ahead. "Let Rebecca go!" he shouted to the man. Shortly thereafter, the muscular man from the level below reached the hallway, stopping as he caught sight of the three. "You guys just keep coming, huh?" He gave a short laugh. "Return the girl and I'll let you leave. This is the only warning I'll give you." ------------------------------------------------------------- Jory, rustytengo The pair entered a large entrance hall. The were two flights of stairs the led to a balcony above, one flight on either side of the room. There were two doors on either side of the balcony that led to other areas of the house. The stairs were blocked off with ribbons, a clear mark that the area was unavailable for guests. Beneath the balcony was the entrance to another room, where guests milled about and the Bartender was visible serving drinks. A man stood near the doorway, similarly to a guard. He had long blonde hair that reached just past his shoulders and hung to the sides of his face, and it was easy to spot his muscular build beneath his white suit. -
Nero snorted. The world was proving itself to be exactly what he believed it to be. You could play the nice guy, as Abraham had, but in the end, it would gain you nothing. His life was brought down just as easily as any other's. The world was corrupt, and the only escape from the broken system was death. He walked past Abraham, stopping a few feet past him to gaze at the Nightingale, hands in the pocket of his coat. A grim look was set upon his face, as he began mumbling to no one in particular. "This is our fate as creatures of this world. It is a world filled with misery and hopelessness, and no matter how hard we try to do good, fate puts us back in our place. Theses are the lives we are meant to live..."

Garen stepped forward as Jack returned to the line. "Hello," he started, giving a wave to the others. "My name is Garen Forrest, and I'll be scouting for all of you. I fancy myself to be a nature's man, as I feel truly comfortable only when I'm outdoors. So you can trust that I'll be able to find my way around. As for why I'm here, well, I can't honestly say that I have as noble of a reason as the rest of you, and honesty matters to me. No, I'm not driven by personal experience, though I'll be fighting just as hard to find a cure." He paused, hoping they would understand what he meant. "Ever since I was a boy, I've been filled with dreams of adventure and exploration, finding my way through uncharted land just like the first settlers of this planet, and even farther back, the the pioneers of Earth. I see Eden to be my chance to live out my dream for a noble cause." With that, he stepped back, awaiting their next instructions.

[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Flux replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
What did you think of this Chapter? Did you enjoy it? Eh... Somewhat. I kind of ended up not really doing a whole lot, though I would at least partially attribute it to my decision to have Lars remain at the table. Then when Surge came along, it seemed kind of wrong to just ditch him and go battle. Following up on that question; What do you think of this RP as a whole? I think the idea is really interesting, and while it's not necessarily my preferred type of RP, I'd still say I'm enjoying it. On to my writting in this, what do you think about it? Where could I possibly improve? You seem to be a good writer, up near the top of all those in the RP section here I would say. As Murdoc said, I can sometimes see your own personality reflected in your characters, but that's about it. Which Host Controlled Character's/ NPCs feel real to you? Which could use some improvement? Erick and Ray feel the most realistic to me right now. I'm still not quite sure how I expect Oak to act. I think I'd like to see a younger-acting version with brief glimpses of his future personality in him. As for McCarthy, I personally don't feel that I've seen enough of him to really decide. Who is you favorite NPC? Why? Explain. Clemont. I like the idea of a genius Pokemon actually getting a position of command. It's a creative insight on your part. Who's your least favorite NPC? Why? Explain. Erick. As others have said, he gets a bit too much screen time, and despite his past with the military, I think the officials give him a bit too much attention. (Whether it be good or bad attention.) What do you think of Professor Rowan and Oak? Should I try to fit them to the mold they're portrayed as in the games a bit more, or should we just get a bit more creative? As I said earlier, I'd like to see Oak slowly progress towards his in-game self. Ray seems to have a distinct personality, and as you said, his "being a dick" is one of his traits. I think it's an important part of him. What do you think of the battles that have been had so far? Do you disagree with the concept of Soldiers having no idea how to really bring out a GAOs potential in a fight at this point? I think it's only realistic that soldiers wouldn't really know how to control them at this point. They were trained as soldiers, not beast tamers, so there will likely be a long time period before things get figured out. How would you feel If I told you that the rules of conventional battling for the most part aren't going to mean anything in this RP? Do you feel this adds to the realism of the story? Should one try to fight fairly, even in war? That's kind of what I expected. There are no rules in modern-day war that can't be just as easily broken as kept. What do you think of the integration between the real world and the concept of pokemon done in this RP? Where can it be improved in order to make things more real? It's an interesting theory, though I think it could use a bit more development. A virus doesn't seem like it could be the only factor to create powerful mutant organisms. How would you feel if I tell you that a certain NPC/ HCG is eventually going to be forced to commit war crimes for their country? Lars will probably lose even more faith in government and authority after that... Would you like seeing a bit of information about the world as a whole in the OP? Definitely. What did you think of the Mini-Boss battle for this Chapter? I'm having a bit of difficulty remembering what was all in this chapter as we had a rather long break after the Articuno fight. If that was in this chapter, it was pretty well executed. If you meant the battle at the tarmac, I didn't really participate a whole lot, as I said earlier. What do you think of me as Host of this? Be honest, by now, I expect nothing less from you guys. You're a good host. As a host myself, I realize that life oftentimes interferes with keeping your RPs up to date. Despite this, I feel you've done a good enough job creating a story and managing the RP to make things enjoyable.- 1189 replies

K_H, is there a logical reason for how Kenny materialized water out of nothing? It doesn't really seem to fit with your description of his aura power... I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thought this was a bit strange, but it seemed a bit random to me.- 1735 replies

So, I decided to start a run in Lunatic mode of Fire Emblem Awakening to honor the inclusion of Robin and Lucina in Smash 4. I originally was going to try Classic, but I quit after realizing that I'd have like 2 party members left after the second mission. I'm now on Casual, and it's still hard. :/
-
Frederick and Elixirs are your friends. Usually Frederick's Silver Lance will wear out, so I prefer him using MU's bronze sword. Also, grinding will be a bitch, even with DLC. If you survive after Chapter 4 though, it's pretty much hard mode. Now Lunatic+ mode...
-
Im doing a run through of lunatic now so I can get lunatic+. MU with defense as their asset helps IMMENSELY. I fed them all the kills until after ch4 because a pair up with frederick when you get high enough basically makes attacks bounce right off. I would use vulnerarys until you really need Virion's elixer though because that is the only one you get for a long while. (Im on classic ch18 as of now)

Thanks! And no worries about posting. Just post when you can. I've had my own share of late updates and hectic weeks. Also, I'm refraining from updating K_H and Snap for now, partially because I really need to know if Dar will be here. I'm going to send another pm, and if he doesn't reply to that one, I'm thinking we may just change the pyrokinetic back to Rebecca. It's just unlikely at this point for Beetle, Alice, and the others of that group not to recognize whether it's her or not. -

Arkhidon Hades moved quickly as the men were taken down. He quickly knelt by the man Keaton had pointed to, placing his right hand on the man's throat. Hades' hand began to glow a deep purple color, and within a fraction of a second the man lay still. He repeated the process on the other man. Hades stood slowly. "Rubber bullets, eh? Clever of you, though perhaps not the wisest of decisions. You'd better be sure of yourself on this one. Your life could be at stake." He turned to Keaton after he said the last part, flashing a wild grin. "And that's why I love this." **** The two of them had walked further down the corridor, their presence still unknown to the others that likely lurked within. The two men from before appeared to be dead after Hades had intervened. He walked along cooly and undisturbed, as if nothing unusual was happening. Hades stopped when the passageway came to a split section. The hall branched off to the left and right. "What do you think, Keaton? Do we stick together for combined power, at the risk of being attacked from behind? Or do we split up to cover more ground, focusing only on what's ahead? You're supposed to have a superior brain, right?" -
Garen sighed once more. It seemes that it was something he'd be doing a lot with this team. He stretched his arms out a final time before preparing to leave the ship. "It seems that nobody here is very outgoing... Still, I've learned a little about them simply by their responses, however short they were. First is Arieta, the blast trooper. She seems a bit eccentric and maybe a little too excited, though it's too early for me to make that judgment now. Besides, she was the only one of them who returned my handshake. That has to count for something, right?" He pulled his helmet over his head, letting his ponytail hang out the back. "Next was the sniper. She didn't mention her name, though she acts just as I suspected she would. She's a loner type, which makes the sniper role rather fitting, since she'll be away from the group. Still, I'd like to get to know something about her." He walked towards the hatch, double-checking his equipment. "Third is Katsumi, the other scout. She seems somewhat familiar, though it may be my imagination. Still, she seemed nice enough, if in a bit of a hurry." He squinted as the hatch opened, along the light to enter once more. "Finally, the mystery man. His black cape reflected his mood. He seemed rather pessimistic and cold. That's something I hope I can change." Garen walked down the ramp into the outside air, feeling at home once more. Soon he'd be entering a different world, a place in which he could make discoveries of his own, just as the explorers had so long ago, on planet Earth.

Nero stepped out of the corner, slowly making his way to the others, his black coat sweeping behind him. "...If we're to leave, then I suggest we do so. We're only wasting time arguing here." He spoke slowly, sounding bored. "We'll go for the Titan's Skin -- It's the only logical choice." He turned to Sigurd. "The longer you fuss about Aelia, the less chance we have of getting to Helzebeth's father in time, if he lives." He walked over to the wall and leaned against it once more, meeting Helzebeth's eyes briefly on his way.
