Nuzlocke Questions.

Just finished the game. Was thinking about attempting to nuzlocke it on normal mode. Seems impossible tbh. Is there a rule set that people use to nuzlocke this game in particular or is it the same old fashioned rules. Mainly thinking about parts in the story that progress if you win or lose, such as the shadow mewtwo battle. Let me know what you guys think or what kind of rules you guys have used if you have attempted it.

As long as you don't complain that the game is bad because you can't nuzzlock (throw back to -someone- who did) then go for it, I don't suggest it, but do as you wish..
I would specially consider removing the "Can one capture one Pokemon per new area" rule since you WILL get a lot of your Pokemons KOed so having this rule will be the faster way to a game over as you probably won't even pass Venam considering the only areas you can capture Pokemons before fighting her are East Gaeren, the Sewers, Gaeren Park and the Chrisola Hotel (For a total of 5 Pokemons, counting the starter) .. And depending of your luck you might get totally garbage Pokemons that won't help at all against her like a Fomantis or a Paras.. Allow yourself to catch, at least, one of each SPECIES of Pokemon and that would be good enough, I guess

The early game has changed significantly since I last played it but since you've already completed the game, you have an idea of what it's going to throw at you so my best advice is to just stick to the normal rules, but be more generous with the capture rules.

Like overworld Pokemon you feed Gourmet treats not counting towards it or having a dupe clause so you don't get multiple Zigzagoons or something.

And don't put it on Set unless you're particularly masochistic.

Well...you don't HAVE to lose those battles. You can still win them so you should try to do so.

The Yveltal is a crapshoot however. You could give yourself one pass for that battle alone.

Okay I more or less was thinking along the same lines. I did it so that the overworld pokemon, that come in singles not bunches, or events were catchable. I've attempted the nuzlocke before and usually always make it to the shadow mewtwo battle. That battle usually ends it for me though lol or ends up taking a lot of quality mons after I win.

I'd say you'd have to rely on cheese strategies then. Like Curse or other status ailments to weaken the thing. If you've got a Pokemon with Sturdy you could send it in at a low level do you can keep healing it to full repeatedly until Mewtwo eventually kills itself with Hyper Mode.

Honestly, I don't see an issue with lowering the accuracy of enemies. You guys may, but it's a legitimate strategy that could help out. A 'mon with Flash (You can get the TM for it from the casino) who outspeeds could set it off.

I agree. For this game I think you should use everything at your disposal. Even then, thinking back to some of the gym leaders I fought towards the end of the game, completing the nuzlocke seems very difficult. Maybe I'm just trash tho lmao.

Maybe remove the one per area rule. You can catch one of each evolutionary line. Probably also include the rule that whiting out isn't a game over? Game is super hard and winning battles first try pretty much never happens, at least not for me anyway.

Seem like a not fun challenge but too each there own I suppose.

I was thinking about doing a personal rule, to ur point. Whiting out is not game over but you lose all those mons. You can use mons till you run out of mons in ur pc box. But i think that might be a little too cheesy.

It's your run, my man. Especially if you're not uploading it to anywhere, or narrating it like Derogatory, I don't see why stuff being cheesy's a bad thing.

I mean give your self some leeway like Limited Save Scumming for every major battle, 2 encounter per area and free static encounter or allowed item and no set mode, the intense is hard unless your strategy is foolproof you're bound to lose at least 1 mon per major battle and considering the lack of area in early game you'll lose mon fast
