Maelstrom 312 Posted December 3, 2013 Share Posted December 3, 2013 I'm playing a dunce fighting shadows with two goofball partners whose life expectancy is so bad, they get an ability that shortens their down time and revives them at full health at the same time. They're still completely useless. Nevermind that I have to fight a far more likeable character as my foe, who I then have to fight to save after he is overtaken through his connection to the darkness. Still, the feels. He just took up the art of sorcery. I was showing him/helping him with monster hunting basics. He also was getting plety of exp and new spells along the way! Our most power foe was probably the twin Jack'O Lanterns. The fight involved lots of splitting up and regrouping to strategize. I have absorbed the souls and memories of many within my right arm. Their emotions and memories have melded into mine and I suspect my own insanity. Still, I choose to sacrifice their souls into my arm to power up my magic, or I choose to drain them of their taint, sparing their lives and boosting my own life force in the process. Something, something, last hope for humanity... I just need a weapon. The robot explained that I had been dead a very long time and there were a lot of things I wouldn't understand. Then the talkative little bastard shut up. Seemed like a good time to explain things to me, but I'm just the meatbag with a gun and the burden of humanity's existence on my shoulders. Like I need to know anything, pffft. Even the speaker is of no help. He says he could tell me of the golden age and the battle that crippled the Traveler and how things came to be that humanity only populates a single city on earth that we know of. But he won't because he's a melodramatic asshat who borderlines on cult leader. The things I do, I do for humanity. If I was revived because I could control the light, then I will make the best of it and master the light. What I do with it is up to me. I will not forget all that you did not tell me, Speaker. Factions pull and push me as they might, but it is my might that determines my Destiny. These will be the only words spoken to preside over the deaths of my foes and the voice will be mine, "Boom.
