Magnum angrily waves his fist at the Beats through his window as their fangs rip through the exterior armor of his bus. "Get out of here you tramps! Scram!"

 

He turns to Cu, making a big elaborate point of charging up something of great power. "You know, a good fighter doesn't project what they're going to do next, that's part of Rules 101. Unless, they're that good, but this guy ain't no Mo Bobana, sheesh." He points a stubby finger at Sachi, "Hey you there! This guy is going to unleash something big, so you need to prepare for it so you can make a play! If you see him make a move, I want you to run a Forward Leopard Banana Split 74!"

 

Magnum uses Interception on Sachi.

Solomon glances at a nearby enemy soldier for a few short moments before making vaguely magical gestures at the man and shouting "TOU KOOL!".
Immediately afterwards he ran off to try and find some cover before the orbital strike arrives while chuckling to himself a bit about how the other guy should have looked out.

Revving up her chainsaw again, Ritsu looks about the field. Seeing Berserker's charging attack, she decides that a defensive option is a bit better.

Cu Chulainn's spear starts to glow more intensely. 

 

Silef shouts some words of rough encouragement toward Hikari, healing her for [28] HP. 

 

Cu Chulainn takes a step back. "Now your deaths are upon you. . ."

 

Navin rushes forward and tackles Cu Chulainn, stunning him!

 

Solomon drops a book on top of the first soldier, dealing [8] damage.

 

Jade shoots the first soldier, dealing [9] damage. His INIT falls by 1. 

 

Edmond patches up Ritsu, fully healing her.

 

Hikari casts a curative spell on Jade for [18] HP.

 

Cu Chulainn shakes his head, clearing it of its momentary daze. He picks up Navin in one hand and hurls him away toward the rest of the group, narrowly missing Magnum's bus. "This isn't going to change your fates. You chose them as soon as you came here." 

 

Both groups of Dragon Tooth Beasts get the hell out of dodge, retreating toward the edges of the battle.

 

Cu Chulainn lifts his spear above his head once again.

 

The soldiers also elect to run for the hills, taking cover from Cu Chulainn. 

 

Wyvis defends. 

 

Sachi takes up a defensive position, protecting Ritsu and Magnum. She recovers 7 HP.

 

Ritsu defends.

 

Magnum instructs Sachi on how to defend against the incoming ranged assault. 

 

The ominous energy surrounds Cu Chulainn's spear once more.

Edmond

"Take cover! Silef, I need some form of warding on Solomon, Jade, and Navin! You three need to try to minimize incoming fire to yourselves." Edmond panted, and continued. "Hikari! I need you to get out of range of the attack with that armor, and get Sachi patched up. Wyvis! If you can, try to heal people up after the impact! This means possibly yourself, Sachi, and some of our attackers! Ritsu, take care of Silef! She's going to be taking this head on, and she needs what she can get! Magnum, I need you working double time to do what you were doing for Hikari before!" Edmond finished his brief statement, and rocketed off, hoping to get to cover where this obviously dangerous attack might be less devastating in nature.

 

Edmond uses Basic Defense to reduce incoming damage by 50% (Actually works better than tactical retreat in this case). First strike. Current stats: (Con4,Dex2,Int16,Res10,Str5,Syn1) Has 10% dodge chance. Attacks are autohit. RES is increased by 4 against arrows and bullets.

 

((OOC: So uh. . . we're in a tough spot. I have stuff listed, but it might not keep everyone alive. Really depends on Gae Bolg's damage.

Silef: Needs to use wall of fire on Jade, Solomon, and Navin. I'm hoping that her one move survive thing will help here. People will heal her after Cu strikes.

Solomon, Jade, Navin: Use Basic defense. Solomon will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 102 damage. Jade will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 104 damage. Navin will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 112 damage.

Hikari: Jump jet dodge as a free action, and heal sachi up. If you have any other cool effects of Hikari's gear or passives, now is the time to bring them up.

Wyvis: Start dishing out heals, to Sachi, and our damage dealers. It seems unlikely that Wyvis will be that low from the hit, since he has high HP, is at full, and has decent RES, but you might want to heal yourself with that multiheal? Maybe? Not sure. And, uh, if Edmond survives, he'll need healing too. Anyway, don't forget to add in the extra 1d6 to heals, and the 1.5x multiplier. Wyvis will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 118 damage.

Sachi: No real advice here, maybe want to reduce damage coming to just yourself this turn, so that next turn our healers can help you? It's entirely up to you. Sachi will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 92 damage.

Ritsu: Heal up Sachi after Gae bulg hits her. Ritsu will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 172 damage.

Magnum: Start throwing out extra turns to Hikari again. Magnum will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 68 damage.

Edmond: Will survive at 1 HP if Gae Bulg does 56 damage.

 

IMPORTANT STUFF: I THINK MOST OF US CAN SURVIVE THIS. EVEN SACHI SHOULD ONLY BE TAKING 3/4 OF A GAE BULG. IF ANYONE IS GOING DOWN, IT IS PROBABLY EDMOND, SO DON'T WORRY. Either your character will survive, or I will share your pain.

Sachi Honda

Sachi steels herself.

 

Nothing to be said or done except 'brace herself'. Her allies would need to fend for themselves for now.

 

Something about that spear unnerved her. But she had to be brave, or else show no fear. And she would.

Indeed, Sachi braces herself and strikes Cu! (Basic Attack: Deal 2d3+STR), applying Bonds of Friendship on Cu (enemies marked with this debuff  grant 10% of the target's maximum health as healing to their attackers). Also, cancel Tower Stance on Ritsu and Magnum to ensure Sachi doesn't take any more damage than necessary.

Sachi regains 10% of her health per turn.

Jade O'Duffle 35/45, 1/6 Cryo Rounds

 

Seeing the obvious threat that Cu now poses seeing as they can't prolong the inevitable, Jade gets down. He puts up his free hand in-front of his face to block as much damage to his handsomeness as possible. Though, if he sees an opening to dodge the attack he'll definitely take it.

Navin skidded across the ground briefly thanks to Cu Chulainn bodily throwing him, the alien armor plates in his suit sliding perhaps more smoothly than a more human material might, but by no means smoothly. Still, he got to his feet, because going flying through the air was pretty much a daily activity for a superhero.

 

Bringing his eyes back up to their primary opponent, Navin saw the attack charging up again, sighed slightly, and nodded. Then he steeled himself, angling himself so that Cu's attack wouldn't hit him dead on, and raising his arms. He did, however, look Cu straight in the eyes, speaking with absolute conviction in his voice.

"My fate was chosen years ago, by God. Not by me. And most certainly not by you. And I will continue fighting as I must to fulfill it."

 

Navin uses Basic Defense!

The glow around Cu's spear intensifies. 

 

Silef conjures a wall of flames between Cu Chulainn and Jade, Navin, and Solomon, reducing the damage the latter group takes by [16] this turn. 

 

Cu Chulainn takes a step back and cocks his spear back further, the spikes digging into his arm and shoulder.

 

Navin defends. 

 

Solomon defends.

 

Jade defends.

Hikari activates her jump jets, sending her far above the field, and heals Sachi for [16] HP.

 

"Now, face your deaths! Gae Bolg!" Cu Chulainn hurls his spear, wreathed in crimson energy, forth, taking 60 damage. It strikes the field with a massive shockwave. It deals [0] damage to Solomon, Navin, and Jade, [8] damage to Edmond, misses Hikari, deals [7] damage to Wyvis, increases the damage of Sachi's next attack by [24], deals [6] damage to Ritsu, [4] to Magnum, and [33] to Silef. Sachi takes [8] damage from Tower Stance. Cu Chulainn takes [6] damage from Wall of Flame.

Edmond:

 

Edmond had braced himself for the impact, and while it had hurt, it seemed almost. . . underwhelming. He gave a short bark of a laugh. Is that all? No need to jynx it though. . . As he shook off the hit, Edmond called out to those around him. "Jade! Keep shooting Cu the same way you did before! He's limited to throwing the spear, something we can work with. Hikari, you're doing great, keep healing people! Everyone else, keep up some pressure on Cu and try to take down the soldiers!" With this, Edmond took off to take a few shots at Cu, to maybe hit him where Jade had already wounded him.

 

Edmond uses Weld on Cu. Deals 2d6+10 damage, and gives 1d4+12 (INTx1.25). Bonds of Friendship heals for up to 26 HP. Current stats: (Con4,Dex2,Int10,Res11,Str5,Syn1) Has 10% dodge chance. Attacks are autohit. RES is increased by 4 against arrows and bullets.

 

Silef uses Flametongue for SYNx1.25 (17) damage against Cu, Soldier A, B, and C. (Bonds of Friendship heals for up to 26 HP). Current stats: (Con2,Res0,Dex20,Int0,Str2,Syn14). For every 3 damage done, 1 HP is added to heal pool. Gains 1 mana point per turn. Fails all ailment saves.

 

((OOC: Okay. I think we're going to have Jade cripple Cu again. Gae Bulg is scary, but now we know how much damage it does, and I think we can take it. Plus, it's highly telegraphed and predictable, so I think it's better than letting Cu melee us?

Solomon: Deal some damage to Soldier A. If he's killed, you should probably put a conditional to Soldier. . .C

Navin: Have him use his flurry of explosions on Soldier B. This will either defeat him, or come close.

Jade: Aim to Cripple Cu?

Hikari: Heal some folks. Pretty much up to you, but I would recommend doing it for Ritsu. For the other turn, you could heal yourself by attacking Cu (I think bonds might heal better than your heal at least currently), or heal Solomon, Jade, or Navin.

Wyvis: Hit Soldier B, or C if B is dead.

Sachi: Keep putting bonds onto Cu. Those are pretty helpful.

Ritsu: Either attack Cu to get bonds heal, or heal Sachi, since she'll probably draw a bit of aggro after putting bonds on and stuff.

Magnum: Keep dishing out extra turns? Those are really helpful.

Thanks to the support of his allies, Navin found as he brought his arms back down that he'd come out of that with not even a nick more than the minor wounds he'd already had. Sufficient proof that his statement on fate was more correct than Cu's, the Marathi superhero wagered, though naturally the credit here belonged to his teammates more than it did the gods. It was then that Edmond began to speak, and Navin listened to his shouted orders, getting himself once again into a ready pose. Sounded like they needed people attacking the other soldiers, and though it didn't make Navin happy to do it he would continue to do what was needed. Navin rushed towards one of the enemy soldiers with a shout, readying his fist to perform the same maneuver that had killed the earlier officer. This soldier wasn't staggered like the previous target, his armor wasn't breached, and Navin didn't have that extra power in his muscles, but Navin figured that it would wound the soldier anyway.

Flurry of Explosions on Soldier B! (STR + SYN damage four times)

[Navin stats: 2 CON, 1 RES, 3 DEX, 2 INT, 8 STR, 8 SYN] Navin also has a 3*DEX% chance to block melee attacks.

Jade O'Duffle 35/45, 1/6 Cryo Rounds

 

Jade braced himself for the incoming blast, he was expecting something big after the man hyped it up so much. Though when it actually did happen Jade was disappointed. He lowered his guard and stood up straight. He tried to contain the laughter building up inside him but it was futile. He started chuckling, "Face our death's, huh? I guess the reaper was pretty busy, or maybe you're just all bark and no bite. Who knew his teammates could weaken the attack to that extent, just goes to show there's only so much one can do alone.  He brushed some dirt off his clothes before focusing once more.

 

"Jade! Keep shooting Cu the same way you did before! He's limited to throwing the spear, something we can work with."

 

"I hear ya loud and clear. Don't worry, he'll soon have cold feet about messing with out gang." Whether you want to take that last comment literally or figuratively Jade aimed his revolver towards Cu, the tip of the barrel coated in a frost. Aiming for the man's knees, Jade unloaded his final bullet at Cu. Now time to reload, but what to reload with? Choices, choices...

Solomon sucked back the entire wall of books that he had set up earlier and nodded  in Silef's general direction and giving her a thumbs up, before opening fire on a nearby enemy soldier with yet another barrage of eldritch books.
