I fancy Florinia more than Fern, too.

I fancy Florinia more than any other character, honestly.

really fancy Florinia.

Good job with the fight. Can't wait till you get a little Funky Gunky of your own.

Its even weirder that Ame let Cain take the league challenge, considering he abandoned being the reserve leader to do it. Sure, it's a complicated situation, but it's still weird. I wonder how gym leaders and reserve leaders prove themselves...

Indeed, in my original run I went and bought Slugma from Game corner to defeat it. And in my second (shiny) run, my Arbok Screeched and Crunched it to death (see a pattern here? ;))

Thank you! :D I love Florinia too. And I'm eager to see her well-covered emotions. And how Titania betrayed her and crashed her to this point. I really dislike Titania. So many mental issues. Pity Anna got the Dr.Sigmund treatment and Titania didn't.

Also, that title though: taking out the trash, aka Fern. Good one ;)

Thanks! :) Hope you enjoy the videos! And apologies for the lack of commentary, but I don't feel comfortable with listening to the digitalised voice of mine... :(

Told you it would be a great slogan for my run! :D

And yes, I think that Reborn has a tiny hole in plot when it comes to this part. Why a reserve Gym Leader can abandon his place and keep challenging other Gym Leaders unpunished?

Actually, Pokemon Reborn is based on real people stories from Reborn League I think. Fern was a jerk who specialised in Grass types and kept quitting when he was losing a fight, the reconnected claiming he got dc'ed to start battle again, hence this character attributes he has in the game. @Orasha When it comes to how leaders prove themselves, all leaders had to battle Ame (or someone of esteemed value) to prove their value as Leaders. Amaria suffered amnesia after a real life accident, and Ame tested her skills again in a 6v6 single battle after Amaria recovered. Amaria swept with a Ludicolo... Proved that amnesia didn't affect her battling skills, and retained her position.

Spoiler

Also Corey indeed commited suicide in real life and Kiki passed away because of an auto-immune disease... :( I didn't know them, but God rest their souls.

Probably some of the older members of the forums can give us something like a list of incidents in Reborn that are based on real events.

Wow, I never knew that some (if not all?) of the characters were based on real people. The definitely makes some of the stuff that happens... more depressing :( It still feels weird to me that the gym leaders (in universe) don't have to take on the league to get their position, especially since the league has been around for at least a decade and many of the gym leaders are younger. I have hope that future episodes will expand on how one becomes a gym leader or elite 4 member, though.

I like the fact that most of Gym leaders are prodigious kids though! And probably it is the same way as in real life, they have rating battles. When you reach in Episode 16 content, you'll talk to Ame in Grand Hall. Then, she'll tell you something about someone who went fabulously in his/hers trial battle and can claim his/her position as an Elite 4 member/Gym leader. (trying not to spoil you anything). So, it must be the same way of proving their value as in real life League!

I strongly dislike Titania, too. She's just not a likable character. Gotta say, I don't think she deserves the electric torture. Now Fern? Absolutely.

I will agree with this... I just exaggerated that! I dislike Titania, but I want to believe that she is on the good side, even in all her needless viciousness and grumpiness.

While she went about it in the absolute worst way, she does show that she cares for Amara. She shows human aspects unlike Fern, who I believe is sociopathic.

Yes, Titania does love Amaria, maybe not in a romantic way, but she cares about her. And, even indirectly I believe she gives false information to Meteors, hence helping us.

But I'd prefer her to be less violent, especially towards Taka who is a victim of circumstances...

I agree. She shows no restraint, and little remorse. She also shows a lack of concern for lives, and is ready to end them if they get in her way. She's a terrible person, regardless of her feelings for Amara.

Yes. I don't think that she needed to murder all those Grunts and Cultists in Water Treatment Centre... Overpowering them was enough to render them harmless. Plus, I don't think that killing a Grunt makes you any better than Solaris or Lin, who killed some of our friends...

Finally, as shown with ZEL, Aster/Eclipse and Simon/Tara cases, most of the Grunts and even Admins are just victims too, that joined Team Meteor to help their families somehow and ended up much deeper than they ever expected to be, ruining their own lives even more...

Everyone deserves a second chance.

Most people, at least. Not Fern.

I would also argue that Lin doesn't deserve one, either.

Yes, apart from extreme cases... I dunno about Fern, I wish there is a backstory and he eventually joins our side again... I'd never trust him, but it would be a fine twist of things!

As for Lin... With her mindset and no-remorse, killing to demonstrate power, and various crimes... Yep, jailed for good is the punishment.

Honestly, people like Lin don't really deserve jail. She's a murderer. She kills for the sake of killing, she spares on a whim, and fancies herself as a god.

Honestly, Solaris should be leader. At the very least, he kills for more than just power. Lin is a tyrant. She rules with fear, and she's by far the worst person shown thus far in this game. No backstory could make up for the trail of blood she left behind. Jail is too good for her, IMO

Oh yeah I definitely enjoy it! And yeah you're probably right, and I have reached that point in the story, finally :P I wonder if the player character will eventually get asked to be a gym leader... though I suppose champion is good enough :D

I most certainly do. Though I have to be honest, I mostly skip to the big fights, so I skip most of the common grunt and NPC battles, but I do check your choices in movesets to see how you design those (I can learn from that).

And I understand that you're not comfortable with listening to your own voice or even letting us hear it, I think that's quite normal. Usually listening to your own recorded voice sounds strange, in my case at least. But I mean, you could try it for one video (and make it a short one, so maybe just a gym battle to start off with) and see if people here like it (and if you like it)

Holy moly you're already at Florinia despite having started this run after me? I should really continue from where i left off...

Anyways, nice to know you're equally enthusiastic about this as well! I will remain a faithful follower as usual :D

Edit: Just watched your first gym battle and I gotta say Sucker Punch is pretty OP early game :P

Haha, thanks for the kind words!

Hope you also like the Ancient Greek mythology theme! I'm having a lot of fun with trying to find names befitting of my 'mons characteristics into the myths of my country! :) And links are fun to read I believe! I don't expect anyone to read them, but I like adding them :D

I didn't use any healing items vs Julia, and I had couple Supers and regular Potions... I believe I would've won her even by using Bite if I had healed up! ;)

I'm a lil cheater, what can I say :D
