Mystery egg

So I'm just interested in your luck with mystery eggs. I'm at my 3rd playthrough now because I got bored waiting for E16 so why not go through it again... So 3 times, 3 fresh saves, and all 3 times I get a vullaby from the egg. Anybody with worse luck?

I hate to say this but mystery eggs do not get reset on soft resetting they are determined at the very beginning when Victoria hands you your starter. In fact all the events are more or less determined after your first battle with victoria so its not possible to randomize the mystery egg by soft resetting :[

I know. But just saying, what are the chances of getting the same pokemon on 3 different saves? 3 different starters, different everything.

Whoa, thats bad luck if you're starting fresh from the beginning then there's a 1/18 chance of getting a vullaby each time and to get it 3 times in a row is absurdly small.

If it were another pokemon, you might consider your situation super lucky! I've gotten three different mons in every playthrough, so I suppose it's just you beating the odds!

I've gotten Elekid twice, never was a fan of Electabuzz, so while I was lucky... meh.... never used it.

Vullaby isn't too bad...but in all seriousness i wouldn't rely on mystery eggs lol. I did get Larvesta once which was great!

After rescuing all the policemen in Jasper and Beryl ward, a policeman in the police station will offer to trade you the mystery egg for a growlithe egg

I have been well past that area for ages, has there been a version update? I played through that area back when you were allowed to keep the Growlithe of the dead policeman and I am horribly lost.

you breed the growlithe you get given to get a growlithe egg, which you can then trade for the mystery egg back at the station.

I got pawniard and both of my friends got phantump. it's really annoying to get something that can be found elsewhere when other potential (better) results are currently only obtainable from that egg.

I got phantump twice, different starters, different lineup... so yeah. Mystery egg can be tricky

My story with the mystery egg was funny. I got a Drilbur, which is probably one of the most overpowered mons you can get, but at the time I hadn't played pokemon for like 4 years and the last game I had played was pokemon Pearl, so I had no idea that Drilbur was good and I left it in the box.

Im guessing this is the egg for when you trade the growlithe egg for the mystery egg. I got a staryu from it.

I got drillbur myself, I know it's a very good mon, but I don't use it.

My first file got Pawniard from it and I was super excited(even know you can get them later in the game). My current file and my Fossil-mono run both got Cottonee...I smell hacks!
