I mean it depends, they are considered dragonkin, but they aren't true dragons. ((It's like the difference between canines and vulpines. They are similar and closeish in relation but are completely different creatures.))

One can always dream~ (and I always thought wyverns were a subspecies of dragons, but I'll take your word for it).

I had hoped Saffron would advocate equality and that Ecquis would be hailed as a hero, and not that she'd banish him after she took the throne because wyverns == evil and Ecquis has five of them.

Five of them...for now. There is a male in the group...

...I leave for 2 hours and come back to this? Ok.

Also there will not be any new wyverns in the immediate future. Unless we run into a wild one. In which case we'll see.

Would that also be how Hoshiko catches a pegasus? But yeah I doubt I'm going to pull a Sumia and just take in a wild wyvern...unless pyon somehow arranges for that to happen.which he wont.

Don't worry, we happen to be able to pull combat-ready animals out of nowhere. That's how promotion works.

Also, it's not like anyone stopped to think about how Terrin's getting his horse.

Don't we have horses with us? Couldn't he just take one of those?

They are strictly travel only as Pyon has gone on record in the past. Not bred for the battlefield.

We have riding horses. Not combat horses.

They can probably be trained for combat, though. That's how you war horse, right?

Hmm, there's something to consider. I do wonder how these things will be handled in context though. Random animals spawning for our use just sort of...doesn't quite work? Unless we want to ignore that whole issue. like other issues that have come up but eh, having people find things will probs make for more story.

Yea Warhorses are VERY different from riding horses. Mostly since riding horses aren't really trained to go into the madness that is war. Like your typical riding horse would flee at the first sign of danger ((ESPECIALLY FROM SOMETHING LIKE A WYVERN.))

And eh, it can be overlooked moreso and probably should. D&D would make the note to RP the section of doing it, but we don't really have the timefor it? It just doesn't fit nicely into this struature of campaign so it has to happen off camera really. Cause like really it'll just be an asspull anyway, so might as well not address randomly finidng soemthing in the woods and jsut acept it happened at some point and not draw attention to it honestly lol.

If thats the case, how do we still have riding horses? Unless I'm just usually traveling at like 2000m at any given point in time.

I love how you ask me these questions in the thread and on Discord at the same time... so I jsut answer it on Discord cause I see it first and then don't feellike repating myself so people never see my answer.

Isn't it great? Though, bringing something of that to here...

How fine are the characters with heights approaching 7000 meters + in the air?

I was actually planning on RPing out Hoshiko's promotion stuff. After some spear training with Meredith she was going to talk to Saffron about pegasi.

Posted

I do recall hearing on that. Sounds like a fun thing to see. Will we get a fully fleshed out training montage?

"FOR GREAT JUSTICE, I SHALL MASTER NOT ONLY THE BOW, BUT ALSO THE SPEAR, AS I FLY THROUGH THE SKIES ASSAULTING EVIL ON MY MIGHTY STEE- woah wait i didn't say go please stop SAFFRON HELP THE GODDESS'S HERO IS FLYING AGAINST HER WILL"

Posted

YES, GLORIOUS SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAR TRAINING!!! I SHALL TEACH YOU TO THRUST WITH GREAT PASSION! THE SPEAR, THE GREATEST WEAPON!!! THE ARM OF JUSTIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!

Oh this is going to be very amusing to see. I await the montages with anticipation. Also front row...wing? seats to all of the flying shenanigans.

Saffron stole hers from some stables, I don't think she has any more pegasi to spare. Don't worry, maybe the Goddess will send you some. She'll probably send us a nice set of new clothes for promotion, too.

Because, you know... shops and towns aren't a thing in Fire Emblem at all, no sir... we get all our clothing from the pretty lady in the sky around here, yup, yup.

Regarding the horse, given Terrin's family is rich as all hell back home, I was intending for him to basically grab a warhorse from anywhere training and selling them in Caelum and just politely leave it on his mother's tab, hopefully without bumping into her. Or just beg mother for a pet warhorse.

Or get a zombie one like his little brother...

Note that promotions will be special RP events. As long as not everyone promotes at the exact same post chapter which then it will be too chaotic to do, but if it's like 3-4 on the same post chapter I'll set up special scenes on how your characters got a pegasus or whatever. It will also depend on where you are in the world at the time. All of it is considered do not fear friends!

On the wyverns and manaketes question, do manaketes even exist in this world? The dragons are exiled why would there be manaketes. But in the case that there were manaketes (hypothetically of course the dragons are exiled! There are no manaketes) they wouldn't be related to wyverns.

The Goddess' first attempt at life were the wyverns, and her second were the dragons. The dragons were the actually intelligent ones she wanted to create, the ones that would keep her company and serve her. And later on when the earth cooled she created even more perfect beings; humans. -Holy Scripture of the Fiery Goddess
