What do you get when you cross a galaxy, a duskull, and a bunch of mental disorders???

(Hint: it's me!)

Hi!

My name is Zosi, and I finally made an account for this website after playing pkmn reborn for almost an entire month.

First things first, I am non-binary (specifically genderfluid- mainly agender)!!! That's actually one of the main reasons that I started playing Reborn, to be honest.

My pronouns are they/them/their/theirs/themself (i.e. he/him/his/his/himself)

I actually do have a whole bunch of mental disorders and it's pretty chill tbh. I mean, sometimes I feel absolutely horrible, but I like to look on the bright side of things.

"Living life with mental disorders? More like living life on hard mode." -me

(The ones that I have gotten officially diagnosed for are as follows: autism, add, dpdr [depersonalization/derealization disorder], bipolar disorder type I with psychosis, general anxiety disorder, and trichotillomania. I wasn't kidding when I said I have a lot of them!)

I'm 19 years old and a chemistry major in college (my goal is to get paid to play with fire- I'm already over half way there). I'm an Arab (specifically Lebanese) and my favorite animals are snakes. I also have a fascination with space and the universe.

I have been playing Pokemon for as long as I remember, starting with yellow version. My favorite types are steel and ghost, and my favorite pokemon is duskull because it is so dang cute and I relate to it a lot.

I really enjoy Pokemon Reborn so far. I've been liveblogging my process on tumblr (and convinced quite a few of my followers to play it!). I am currently stuck on Charlotte's gym battle (that drought+solar beam ninetails is killing me. and the fact that it's a double battle makes my sturdy gigilith useless, since i usually open up with him using stealth rock).

Honestly my favorite thing about the game is how relatable the characters are. I'm pansexual, so having a canon pansexual character (Cain) was really important to me. Adrienn is also a really cool character since I'm non-binary. I also really enjoy having characters with mental disorders being portrayed positively, since mental disorders are usually so stigmatized that it puts our lives in danger. Just seeing a positive representation of these things makes me so happy.

My current team in Reborn is Swampert, Flygon, Gigilith, Scrafty, Mawile, and Heatmor. I rotate Emolga, Gengar, Sableye, and a few others in as needed.

Well, that's about all I can think of to say for now. It's really nice to finally stop lurking and actually introduce myself! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! Feel free to ask me anything or start up a conversation if you want to~

Welcome! It's a crime for me not to post a song from GalaxyMusic's channel after seeing the thread title. Everyone here has got problems, inside and out, diagnosed or not, so fret not over your health. Enjoy your time here!

Hey there Zosi! Around Reborn we've taken to referring to Non-binary individuals via the pronouns (xe/xem/xyr). Would that be acceptable? Being a Chem major sounds like a lot of fun... and just as much hard work, good luck!

If you have any questions you can ask the Moderators or myself. But most importantly please read the rules. I'd also recommend checking out as many of the pinned threads as you can because they usually have very useful information you can use. Like the forum FAQ for one. Also, come talk with us on the Pokemon Reborn Showdown Server, you can learn the competitive game or just talk with your fellow reborn citizens there if battling isn't really your thing. There's a link to the top left above Member Info

There are all sorts of people here, so I'm sure you can find some people you will be able to call your friends.

xe/xem/xyr pronouns are perfectly fine!

Yeah, it's a lot of hard work. ;-; between research and labs I actually have very little free time, all of which I spend playing Reborn.

I have read the rules and the forum faq already, and I am working on reading all of the pinned threads but add makes long posts difficult to read so it is taking quite a while.

Thank you to everyone who replied I feel really welcomed~ ^_^

Welcome Zosi! Though the thought of you playing with fire sounds a little scary to me, it is fun to see a fellow aspiring chemist around here!
For someone living on hard-mode, reborn suits you well ;)
What is trichotillomania (what a word)? I've never heard of that one. If you feel bad, just abreact it to Fern. (Ame, pls make Fern-voodoo dolls a thing!)

(btw, a well leveled flygon with EQ cuts through her team like butter. Just find a decent flying type to get her volcarona to pair it up with. There are a lot of topics about Charlotte, just use the search bar ;))

That's one awesome intro! I can relate to a certain extent, I have Aspergersyndrome, ADD, and Dyslexia. The people here are all really chill and I think your gonna fit right in.

It seems to me from your post your damn smart and really chill and easy to get along with, lokking foward seeing you on the fourms!

And welcome to Reborn!!!

Cool, another chemist! ^^

Trichotillomania (I know! It's a mouthfull.) is a type of obsessive compulsive disorder and impulse control disorder that causes me to have an obsessive/compulsive urge to pull out my own hair. It's not too bad for me since it's mostly for my facial hair (especially jawline), so avoiding it is made somewhat simple through shaving. As an Arab, though, my hair is thick, coarse, and dark, and it grows back very fast, so shaving doesn't always do the trick.. Because of trich, I have a lot of scars on my jawline and fingertips, but it's not too noticeable unless I'm actively picking at them. There isn't really any medication that can help with it, but having fidget toys (like spinner rings) seems to help a lot!

And yes, having Fern-voodoo dolls would be so great. Every single time I see him, I hate him even more. Props to Ame for writing such a convincingly evil character! It takes a lot for me to hate anyone, especially fictional characters.

I wasn't surprised when he joined Team Meteor. I actually had suspected that he would do so for a while!

Also, thanks for the tip for beating Charlotte! I've been levelling up my Flygon to try to get it stronger so I can take down her team. I'm thinking of using emolga with acrobatics for volcarona, and since emolga is immune to ground it won't get destroyed in the process.

Paid to play with fire-Stuck on Charlotte's gym... Though to be fair who hasn't gotten thrashed by Charlotte.

^_^ Yeah I found that ironic as well. She's such a cool character.

It's really nice to meet people I can relate to with regard to brain stuff! Also, /)/////(\ I'm glad you think so~

To beat Charlotte put rain dance on a few of your pokes or catch Cloud 9 ability poke that should make her easier to beat drop mawhile for emogla for volt switch and rain dance combo should make it easier cool

Yeah, I dropped mawile right away since fire and steel don't mix. I'm having trouble finding rain dance, but I will continue to look around for it! Thanks for the tip!

And to everyone else, thank you so much for all of the warm welcomes! I really appreciate it~

Ouch, you're taking shaving to the next level, I see...

And let's hope she doesn't pull a reveal (soon) of his character, otherwise I'm going to feel bad about hating him...

But until that moment, I'll be searching for some needles (or a cacturne)...

A pretty damn good story to tell, at the very least.

Anyway, welcome to reborn, Zosi! We take pride in unconditional acceptance here; I'm sure you will find your niche soon enough.

Do enjoy yourself.

lolololololololol, get promoted mate, you don't need that there anymore.

Yeah anyway welcome to reborn, I'm a handy guy to know 'cause I know everything so hit me up with questions and such.

Oh and if you want rain dance try looking for a heatproof Bronzong. Run it with a fake out 'mon like Mienshao in the lead and you should be right.

I just now realised that you wrote you're from Lebanon.
Please don't take the next things as an offense, I'm just trying to figure things out (as ignorant as I am, news we get from that region is rare lately).
Do you experience problems regarding your genderidentity in your country? As far as I know, Lebanon is quite Islamic, so I would think that would give problems with some people's faith, especially with some radical movements of Islam in that region, due to the civil war in Syria.
Also, do you think it's sad two nations get angry over a selfie? I just want to know how people think about those things in those countries (I'm not justifying any recent (military) actions, on the contrary)
With all respect,

Welcome to hell, enjoy your stay, leave your sanity behind, you'll never be able to leave even if you want to, all our souls are trapped in here forever, bla bla blah...

Well, obligatory introduction-protocol aside, welcome, I hope you have a great time around these lands. By your introduction alone, you seem to me like the closest thing we've got yet to a real-life version of Terra, all filled with energy and randomness. If that is the case, it means you're 100% fit for survival here XD. Also, you are a chemist, great, I aspire to be a biologist some day (that making us mortal enemies science-people-buddies-something!), so most chemistry related stuff is welcome in my book (except tests -.-).

Also, you say one of your favorite types is ghost. YOU.HAVE.GOOD.TASTE.MY.NON.BINARY.FELLA. Kudos for ghost-love +1

Ahh I don't live in Lebanon I'm just ethnically Lebanese! I'm sorry if it came across like I did, since wording things is definitely not something I am good at. My grandparents moved here from Lebanon before my parents were born so there is a lot of Lebanese culture in my family but I have never lived there.

Most of my family isn't aware that I am nonbinary, mostly because I don't know how they'd react. I come from a Christian family although I am non-religious and I've been really scared to come out to them for that reason.

I am not really comfortable talking about these issues in such a public setting, especially with people who I am not very familiar with. I'm sorry for leaving your questions unanswered, but I am uncomfortable with speaking over those who live there.

Ah, I understand. Sorry for putting you in such a postition, I didn't mean to.
It's totally fine, don't force yourself ;)

Perhaps you live in America? I've heard stories about how some people get treated if they come out as non-religious, hence my guess...
