Ooooh now this is definitely intriguing to me! I'm away from my laptop atm so I might miss a few good options.. but I do like the room you'd get if you were a student in Apophyll. My protagonist Alto is taken aback when Kiki asks if she's a student, but she says yes straight away, even if she hadn't yet enrolled. She thought her "role", her involvement with whatever was going on in the city, would end after getting all the kids to safety outside. A little naive sure, but she was smitten with the idea of finding quiet isolation, though truthfully she wasn't into accepting any teachings that might drastically change her worldview. Not that it matters, since of course, there was much more the region had in store for her. So... a little room on the isolated school that is in Apophyll. Maybe she'll get back there when her journey ends, or maybe it won't be what she wants anymore. Let's see where the future takes us first.

Woops pressed a wrong button. Trainer sprites can be annoying but mugs. Ho boy. Those take hours for me. Use layers and sketches and be sure you don't mess up the pixel rule. You might not get it the first time around but you need to accept that and keep moving. It's not frowned upon to use bases, so feel free.

Yea they're recognizable. I've done character sprite edits for Reborn and Rejuvenation and my tip is always look at ref as you go, if something looks off figure out why by example, but also know when to break off a bit. This is mainly for characters, but be sure to have a sketch of what you want. For VS/Trainer card sprites you may also want to decide to either stay with pokemon's canon style or branch off a bit. also!! If you want input, there's a few game mods here, but https://reliccastle.com/ is a forum that has many more fangame devs so I'd look around there for more opinions and tips. also the last ones Lysandre.

I think Whismur or Lillipup would make better normal starters. They're more useful in battle and are probably more liked than the Slakoth line.

Reborn's going to stick with normal pokemon not including PULSE, and while Rejuv has a bit more freedom it would break the meta of the game, which would drop the difficulty level by a lot. Even if NPCs used it, there's a lot to consider (and I mean the teams need to already consider a lot!) tbh it sounds like a Showdown OM of the month. Maybe you should see if something like that will happen on SD soon. Also Moneys a non problem. Cheat Devices could be used, as well as just rebattling trainers in Opal w luck incense.

You can't use normal online services such as random matchup and wonder trade but battling with a friend is all good.
