Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
DragonRage replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Taylor tries to identify the dragon tracks. Most dragon-types are aggressive and dangerous, but a friendly dragon, or even just one who's willing to negotiate, would make things a whole lot easier out here. -

"We must run," Taylor informs his companions, "Patrat are extremely territorial, but they are unlikely to pursue us beyond their claimed area." He then follows his own advice. -
"Are you threatening me? With a knife? Cute. If I had a copper piece for every time somebody's tried that, I'd have joined the Orzhov decades ago," Lexiel ignores the brawlers, since she doesn't have any evidence that brawling is illegal around here and she can't see the murderous expression. She might have done something about explosion girl if said girl wasn't too fast to catch. "You think I've never shaken somebody down for information?" Lexiel pulls her left hand out of the pocket of her outer trenchcoat, displaying the yellow-white rings and pitch-black metal of her darksteel knuckleduster. "They'll talk, one way or another. I'd prefer the peaceful route, but some people are determined to be unreasonable."

Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
DragonRage replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
"I think that I am Space Aether personnel in an unknown and potentially hostile location. I know that you possess the illogical belief that I value my rank and status above the lives of myself, Desmond, and Kalva. It is likely that you are emotionally compromised. Please state your name, rank, and serial number for the record, before placing a superior officer on the line," Taylor replies stoically, "However, I shall not block you at this time, as your volume has decreased to levels that do not raise our odds of being consumed by a local predator." -

"Kalva is currently with me," Taylor tells the person on the other side of the A-comm, following Kalva and Desmond as they walk off. Taylor doesn't really want to leave yet, but splitting up is a terrible idea. "Please calm down. Panic will reduce your effectiveness greatly, and your volume will alert any dangerous humans or Pokemon in the vicinity. If you are incapable of lowering your voice, I will be forced to block your messages until a safer location is found." -
"I'm certain I'll be able to get in if I have the SIN. I should acquire it, in case the dealer needs to attune it to me somehow," Lexiel states, "And I can crack a computer. I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I've broken into some pretty hardened networks in the past."

"Long ago, the Great Beings created us, we-the-Matoran, and set the Great Spirit Mata Nui to watch over us. We were separate and without purpose, so the Great Spirit blessed us with the three virtues: Unity. Duty. And Destiny. We-the-Matoran prospered, and gave thanks to Mata Nui for his kindness. "But Mata Nui's brother, The Makuta, grew jealous of our love for his sibling. One day he struck his brother down, into a deep sleep. As the Great Spirit slumbered, The Makuta spread his darkness over the our island of Mata Nui, named to honor the Great Spirit. His fell clouds withered our crops and our spirits. But we did not give in. He sent his Rahi beasts to tear at our villages. But we did not give in. He sent his kraata to poison our masks and our hearts! But we did not give in. "For we knew that hope was not lost. Legend tells us that six great heroes, the mighty Toa, will come to our island of Mata Nui, and we-the-Matoran know that all legends are based in fact. Gali, Toa of Water. Lewa, Toa of Air. Kopaka, Toa of Ice. Tahu, Toa of Fire. Pohatu, Toa of Stone. And Onua, Toa of Earth. These heroes, with the power of the elements themselves, would awaken Mata Nui and defeat The Makuta once and for all! "We can't afford to wait for them any longer. The Makuta's minions destroy more with each passing day. Each crop failure puts us a little closer to the long, slow death. Matoran have started disappearing; not often, thank the Great Spirit. "The Turaga have led us well in these hard times, but I can tell they're starting to worry. A year ago, they sent my best friend Takua to seek the Toa. He hasn't returned. This isn't anything so official, but we can't afford to sit around and wait for our destinies any longer. I'm asking you to go out there and find the Toa, if you can, or something, anything else that could give us an edge. I'd go myself, but Ta-Koro can't afford to lose its Captain of the Guard and its Chronicler in the same year. I can't see the future in the stars like Turaga Nuju, but I know that we can't continue on like this. I believe that you are Mata Nui's last hope." -Jaller, Captain of the Ta-Koro Guard

Finally seeing a situation they feel capable of responding to, Taylor addresses the broken up A-comm message. "I read you, but the signal is disrupted. I will attempt to clear it up." Taylor tries to adjust their A-comm to make the broadcast easier to understand. -
"Seems to me this has to be done. It's definitely well within my skills. I'll start prepping a disguise to get in and scope the place out, and yes, I can pass as a local. If I can blend on Lorowyn, where humans are generally considered less plausible than dragons, I can blend here. That said, I wouldn't say no to some backup for the main raid."

"We might be better off just destroying the thing," Lexiel suggests, "I'm not usually an advocate of book burning, but they've got a lot less reason to retaliate if there's nothing in it for them."

"A very forward-thinking man once said that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. And I would wager that the reverse is true as well. Not bad marksmanship for a few hours practice either," Ana declares charitably, "You should be able to pass without shooting anyone in the back, as long as you switch to something more familiar for actual combat. So, where are you planning to ambush this guardsman? ...I should probably be the one to land the dart." Barely flicking her eye in its direction, she pulls a compact pistol from a concealed holster Wyvis completely failed to notice and puts a dart into the neck of one of the moving targets on the other side of the range from the novices. Conveniently, this is also the eyepatch-free side. If Wyvis has any first aid training, he'd recognize the impact site as very close to the jugular vein. Slightly to the left of where a living person would have it, in fact, to deliver the dart's payload directly to the heart without rupturing critical blood vessels.

"What? No! There's no way. Our security measures are impenetrable," The guide declares with confidence. "Probably some do-no-wrong dipshit of an architech wunderkind screwing with us for their own amusement. I'm sure everything will be cleared up soon." The second part is somewhat less confident. It's pretty clear to Kagari that the tour guide has little idea what the heck is going on.

Lexiel takes a deep breath, and scoffs dismissively. "You call that booze? I've smelled Selesnya fruity umbrella drinks stronger than that dreck. Saving the world for a generous reward, on the other hand... What're we waiting for?"

Sachi, Hikari, and Kagari "Oh, no, ma'am, everything is going fine," The tour guide tells Kagari. He is incredibly unconvincing. "We're just experiencing some, uh, technical difficulties. Yeah. Everything will be fine soon. No need to get upset. We're just off the main lobby. Getting out will be easy, just as soon as the joker who messed with this door puts it back." Wyvis "Of course I am. I'm not retired; not yet anyway. I'll be providing medical and sniper support as needed to your group during the main infiltration, and maybe something else too," Ana shares, holding up a large dart containing a reservoir of faintly glowing, yellow fluid, "Sleep dart. Just the thing for making sure those Vishkar guards don't raise a fuss while you strip them, yes?"

Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
DragonRage replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Taylor says nothing, but observes everything, searching their memories for anything that might resemble this. Best not to speculate without more information and context. -
"Ah, not much I can do about that. Polearms aren't the most concealable weapons around, and not everyone can be as gifted in the arts of subtlety and being fun as us," Lexiel grins at the bouncer conspiratorily, "Don't worry. I know a good extinguishing cantrip. Second spell I ever learned." Striding past Visrii and the bouncer into the club, Lexiel immediately realizes that she's made a critical error as she hits what to her keen senses feels like a wall of sound and stench. Ravnican Revues can get loud and smelly, especially if the Rakdos are running the place. However, they're still acoustic. Electric speakers are a lot louder, enough so to drown out any attempt at navigation. "Oh, no. Uh, grumpy halberd guy? Friendly bouncer? Theo? Jump pack guy? ...Anybody?" Not good. Very not good. At this point, even finding the exit again is unlikely to happen. The only bearing she can get is directly towards the stage. So, fingers firmly in her ears, that's where she goes. Unfortunately, knowing the direction of the stage doesn't tell her when she's reached it, and as she gets close a large, boisterous fellow accidentally elbows her hard enough to lay her out, face down, right at Theo's feet. With the speakers facing outward, she feels like she's standing in the eye of the hurricane. "...This day is not going at all as planned." Lexiel considers her options. She could dive back into the completely impassable crowd and never find her compatriots again, or she could stay where it's relatively quiet, give the DJ a boost, and hopefully find someone she knows once the club closes. And just maybe, she could convince him to play something a little bit easier on her poor, poor ears. "Hey, music man! How do you feel about about a duet?" Thinking quickly, Lexiel hums a few bars of the first song to come to mind. Her aura begins ramping up again, as it always does when an angel chooses to sing, "You got a beat for this? "Well, my friends, it's been a long, long time..." The first piece she thought of.
