  1. "What, you think just 'cos I'm a mage I can't hold my own?" Lexiel finishes unhooking her gauntlet, and sets it carefully on the table, along with a belt carrying several containers of a faintly glowing, blue liquid. Safety attended to, she turns toward Andre, face set in a scowl, and drops into an incredibly rough boxing stance. She doesn't come across as a complete amateur, to his experienced eyes, so much as someone whose 'training' has come entirely from infrequent street fights and bar brawls. "Well, bring it on, ham fist. I'll show you how we dance in the 19th district Wojeks, right before I knock your socks off!"
  2. "... Eh, sure. Why not? It's been a while since I've had a friendly spar," Lexiel starts working at the seams of her mana gauntlet, "Just give me a second to get this off. I find the spar feels a whole lot less friendly when people start losing teeth."
  3. I look forward for the OOC to go up, so that I may regale you with my special brand of insanity.
  4. "What? No! Why would I do that? My old guildmaster was a dragon, and he was a perfectly nice guy. I just don't want to get swallowed again," Lexiel exclaims, "It was bad enough the first time, but the second time the scaly bastard tried to wash me down with some sort of disgusting goblin beer. There's a difference between caution and homicidal psychosis, you know. I mean, most things have tried to eat me at one point or another, but I don't hold it against their whole species. I- Ohmygoodness this food is amazing. I haven't had something this fresh in years. And no fungi!"
  5. "I have deduced that this over-complicated and decaying machine's primary function is to produce electricity and feed it to the rest of the castle's systems," Alexandria shares, as she begins melting down the first batch of cannon steel in her new crucible. "I intend to construct a more easily maintained and new zero point power source to replace this archaic mess of magitech."
  6. Alexandria begins using the heat generated by her plasma cannon and the large core of dirt that the huge gun barrel picked up when it hit the ground to create a set of ceramic crucibles and tools. It is somewhat loud.
  7. Lexiel raises an eyebrow at Andre. "Somebody's wearing a costume? Who? Also, guys, the dragon smell followed us in. They must have been a lot closer than I'm completely comfortable with if we still smell like them. But yeah, I could go for some food. A break from the old Golgari pay-per-meal box would be nice."
  8. Alexandria strides into the room, carrying the broken off cannon barrel easily over one shoulder. She sets the huge piece of metal in a corner and starts examining the castle-tank's engines, hoping to determine how they feed power from themselves into the mechanisms that move the vehicle, and to determine what any intact pieces of machinery or magical black boxes do. [OOC: What does she discover? Alexandria is looking for salvageable components and the engines' power transference system, with the intent of converting the castle-tank to run off a 6013 zero-point, antimatter, or tokamak fusion power source before the clearly badly damaged engines fail altogether.]
  9. Alexandria will stay in the engine room for this phase, hoping to make repairs on the badly damaged machinery.
  10. [Out in front of the tank] "Oh, yeah. I've been to quite a few worlds, but the sounds and smells of a new one are always... special, you know?" Lexiel sighs contentedly, "Even the dangerous ones. Speaking of danger, something smells like dragon. I doubt we're going to be attacked. Once dragons get big enough to threaten me, they're big enough that something human sized wouldn't be a filling meal. But if you see something big and scary diving down on us I'd appreciate the heads-up."
  11. "Hm," Alexandria looks speculatively at Mitsurigi, and then at a nearby wall. The android strides over to the wall, and stares at it intensely. Something happens that might grate on Mitsu, Argent, and/or Izumi's senses depending on how attuned they are to the use of divine power. It probably feels rather strange. Then Alexandria pushes her hand towards the wall, and it passes through it as though it were just an illusion. "Supplementary power reserves at point seven percent. Hopefully enough for what I'm about to do. Ms. Mitsurugi, please hold still for a moment. I promise you shall not be harmed." A richly purple, glowing circuit board pattern rises up Alexandria's body, from the bottom of her sculpted dress to her right optical sensor. Both the sensors take up the purple glow, as she points her right palm at Mitsu. "Aquiring UID... UID accquired. Whoever's in charge of this area is the worst admin I've ever circumvented. Swap the UIDs, set a timer because even a blind man would notice this eventually, put up a metaphysical firewall and cloak it... Supplementary power supply transferred. It is highly unlikely that you will receive any prayers during this time, as the connection doesn't seem strong enough yet, but on the off chance you do please tell them to try again in a few hours. Try not to be too active in your power use. If you disturb the connection too much it will snap back to me prematurely."
  12. [In the Barracks] "We do in fact have faster than light travel, after a fashion. Galvanium, element 143, is a metal that grows more dense but not more massive when exposed to an electrical current. By using galvanium, we create artificial wormholes to travel interstellar distances," Alexandria turns to regard the new arrival. "I believe we shall have to continue our conversation later Dimitri, as much as I have enjoyed it. This young woman does not seem to have internal organs, or any detectable signs of life beyond the superficial. I believe she may require assistance." The ancient android plods (the only kind of walking she ever does) over to the mysterious newcomer, and bows shallowly, before speaking in a dialect of Japanese that Mitsurugi will probably find understandable but bizarrely accented. "Greetings. I am Alexandria. It is a pleasure to meet you. You seem to be missing many critical components necessary to human health, and your internal temperature is too low to support mammalian life. Do you require medical assistance? Or another sort of assistance?"
  13. [In the Barracks] "You have a quantum computer in your head? What a coincidence. So do I. Well, I don't keep it in my head, but you know what I mean. I believe my blue box is made of corundum, the information within read and altered through a laser system. A bit... warm to place inside an organic, but capable of storing theoretically infinite amounts of data, which is a very good thing considering how much I've been through since I came online."
  14. [In front of the tank] Lexiel flies down to examine the fallen cannon barrels. After jotting down some ideas about replacements, and possibly melting them down for the metals, she notices the conversation between Empi and Eon and heads over to see what's going on. "Huh. You've been cut off? Well, um, I can't get you there myself, but I can send a message out if you can give me a good description of the plane. No firm ETA on when it'll get there, because my acquaintance still has to find the place, but it's better than nothing. And if they've got an extraplanar portal like you said, they should be able to find you once they get the message. Better than nothing, at least. Oh, sorry, here I go again off on a tangent without introducing myself. I'm Lexiel. Pleasure to meet you."
  15. [In the barracks] "I believe the catalyst is an artificial isotope of cesium given more neutrons than it can accept naturally," Alexandria shares, "I am not a chemist, though. I know how to order my nano forge to make it, and what it does, but the precise mechanics are not something I have studied. The gauss technology is not all upside, unfortunately. The fuel cell and magazine mean that weapons must be reloaded more often, and if the weapon's rate of fire is high enough, the coils might overheat and melt if abused. However, most feel the increased muzzle velocity is worth the extra hassle. I do not believe I have ever heard of a 'q-procc'. Is that some sort of brain implant? In my home, our cyberneticists generally avoid messing with the brain. It is far too easy for things to go horribly wrong." [On the roof] Lexiel tags along behind Mar and Ritsu as they de-rust the cannons, carefully observing Mar's techniques and taking copious notes.
  16. "The modern fuel cell is made possible by our discovery of a catalyst that separates liquid hydrogen and oxygen from water at temperatures as low as four degrees Celsius," Alexandria explains helpfully, "Storing the results in pressurized containers before they evaporate and adding a an electrical dynamo to the device was not a difficult problem for our engineers, comparatively speaking. Fuel cells revolutionized our portable technology. They store approximately fifty times the energy that a chemical battery of similar size could."
  17. [On the roof] "Well, would you look at that. Nothing exploded, released huge clouds of toxic gas, or created a highly destructive thaumic anomaly. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't believe it."
  18. [On the roof] "I heard possession, broken container, and some kind of sound-based subdual method. So I slapped the strongest secondary containment I could around it and now I'm finding cover behind a large, metal thing," Lexiel explains to the best of her abilities, "I wouldn't worry about the ammo. Cannons are generally pretty stable unless exposed to loads of fire, and whatever they're sealing isn't going to burn stuff. You should join me. There's plenty of room behind this cannon, and I'd not recommend being out in the open if that ritual blows up in their faces."
  19. [In the barracks] "Ah, depth perception, how I missed you," Alexandria plugs her repaired optical sensor in with a smile, "I believe I am at optimal performance levels. Commencing item synthesis and gauss retrofitting." [OOC: Anyone who wants it may modify their guns with the Gaussgun special property. In exchange for keeping a 6013 fuel cell, which Alexandria provides, plugged into the weapon, the gun's damage dice increase in size by 1 stage. d4 to d6, d6 to d8, d8 to d10, d10 to d12, and d12 to 2d8. Izumi also recieves a small Shinto shrine, painstakingly machined to near-perfect symmetry.] ------------ [On the roof] After a few moments of thought, before the hellfire barrier goes up, Lexiel ducks out of her wards, which recognize their caster and let her through. She takes cover behind the cannon Ritsu is examining. "Hello, ma'am. Name's Lexiel. It's a pleasure to meet you. You might want to take cover. I have little idea what's going on over there, but their containment procedures are definitely insufficient for what they're trying to do."
  20. I'll do it! Fair warning though, I have a great appreciation for bizarre and unconventional characters in personality and mechanics.
  21. "At least let me finish the wards before we start! I might need to hand in my signet for saying this, but it's a good thing we're transferring this creature. That's the least secure containment procedure I've ever heard of. Let me see, standard containment, Azor's ghost exclusion field, might as well throw a story circle in there, Razia's runic preservation..." Lexiel finishes inscribing a complex circle of runes, and they flare with pale light, producing a dome of blue and red magic coated in circular symbols of a stylized red dragon on a green background, and white fist clenched around a red sun. With the wards complete, she raises her hands and prepares a spell. "Okay, this is as safe as I can make it on short notice. Let it rip... guy... Oh, indrik crap. Erm. Hello, my name is Lexiel, and it's a pleasure to meet you all." Those assembled can practically hear the gears grinding in the archangel's head as she changes the direction of her thoughts.
  22. [On the roof] "It is? I mean, of course it is! I knew that," Lexiel states unconvincingly, before trying to change the subject, "Arcanite, huh? It's made from pure mana? Sounds a lot like etherium. I'd offer a sample for comparison, but those Esperites are not big on spreading their tech. How many layers of containment do you have on the thing you're trying to seal? Even if the chains can hold it, and whatever it's in right now can hold it, the transfer is going to be dangerous. If you give me a few minutes I can set up a standard secondary containment ward, maybe with extra options depending on what it is we're sealing." The angel pulls a long rod with a glowing tip from her belt, and starts inscribing symbols around the edge of the crafting area as she continues to magitechnobabble excitedly, "Ideally, we'd have physical secondary containment as well, something nonreactive and magically resistant would be best. I don't suppose you have a few tons of Mizzitium lying around? No, of course you don't. This isn't Ravnica. Gold makes an acceptable substitute; its mana conductivity is less optimal, but it's way more common and easier to shape. Lead's cheaper I guess, but it's a mana insulator. If something goes wrong, the explosion could... We should totally build the secondary containment out of lead! That way we succeed whether the sealing works or not. And if you're planning to use a sonic mind alteration as the primary containment during the transfer, we have to make sure not to violate Trostani's third principle... How many carnivorous plants do you think we could get up here in a reasonable amount of time? Oh, but with all those plants and that lead around, a standard fire-based ward is going to be highly sub-optimal. Does anyone here know a frostfire conversion formula? I'm still working on that one myself, but I think I could Gruul-rig a weird to do the job for us..." [OOC: Just assume that Lexiel will keep amping up the complexity until somebody interrupts her.] ----------------- [In the barracks] "Dimitri, thank you for sticking around. I could use your assistance," Alexandria smiles warmly at the man, placing her damaged eye on a nearby table but not letting go of it, "Afterwards, we shall see about upgrading your firearm. But for now..." The android produces a clear lens and some complicated-looking circuitry from somewhere any onlookers can't see. "I must keep hold of my eye at all times or it will break even worse. But, this procedure cannot be done with a single hand. The holed lens and the shrapnel must be removed steadily and simultaneously to prevent additional damage. Then, I can patch the damaged sensor, replace the lens, and re-install my eye."
  23. Lexiel starts, and then takes a deep breath in. "Uh, I think your house is on fire. I'll go try to extinguish it, but you should probably call the local fire brigade or something." [Lexiel moves from in front of the castle to the roof.] Lexiel touches down on the roof of the castle, and homes in on the fire. "Uh, whoever's up here? Your house is kind of... on fire. You going to do something about that, or should I?"
  24. [In the Barracks] "I will gladly help you," Alexandria tells Dimitri and Theo, "However, at the moment I have somewhat more pressing concerns." She holds up her eye, with the piece of shrapnel in it. "I believe I will require assistance with this. I am certain you would prefer I assist you with depth perception. Being a machine does not make me infallible." ---------------------- [Out in front of the castle-tank] A brilliant flash of light briefly renders the area greyscale for a few seconds, sending an electric feeling through everyone assembled's skin/outer layers/whatever they have. An extremely pale woman steps from the center of the light show, the fading illumination gleaming off the steampunk chemistry lab she seems to have strapped to herself. Oh, and there are two pairs of big, white, feathery wings on her back, and a glowing halo hovering around her head at eye level. That kind of draws the eye. The woman looks around, takes a deep breath, and then sighs. "Urza's bones, I don't recognize this plane," She mutters faintly, then calls out to the assembled individuals in a louder, friendlier tone, "I don't suppose any of you could tell me where I am? I seem to have... botched a teleportation spell. Should've used less red, probably."
