I had told you some time ago that you're probably the most helpful person in here! Always coming to the rescue ;)

Good job! Get those bugs sorted! :D

I bash myself too hard for not being perfect at it and it isn't enjoyable anymore...

@BandorKitty Thanks... It does help indeed. I'm just not easy at getting it out. And, by this, I mean that: 1) I don'tlet others see me cry and 2) I find it physically hard to get myself to cry, regardless of the emotional stress I'm going through.

@Amethyst Yes, I agree. I'm working on it. I'm being too hard on myself. The other night, I caught myself wondering "why can't I be top at this, why I just have to be average at many things?". Looking at it calmly, being average at many things means that capabilities exist, and only expertise is missing. So, I'm pretty sure I'm not "useless", like I called myself earlier. Thank you :)

Thank you... It's stupid, I like playing basketball, I bash myself for missing 3-pointers/free throws, I like playing pool, I bash myself to oblivion for missing ridiculously hard shots and then my self-confidence plummets and I get even worse and bash myself harder and keep getting wors- AAAAHHH it's a vicious cycle and it's driving me nuts....

      I wanna cry sometimes..

  4. Sorry for not finding the time to update my Gundham Tanaka rejuvenation run this weekend! I will update it today probably, I just got too busy with my PhD life and hobbies, and neglected it... But rest assured, it's not on hiatus!

  5. And the mystery egg is........

    Togepi!

...I have no idea how I'm gonna salvage this one; unless my memory has failed me and we get a move reminder before we get done with Azurine Island, this thing has less of an offensive move pool and more a move *puddle*. It even conflicts with the Swoobat I'm already training...

    It's Noibat all over again.

  6. When you get addicted to playing pool, but can't afford playing as much as you want to... :(

  7. Crystal Team Update. Members: Donovan the Scyther (named after Specter Knight). Galahad the Heracross (name props to @Jess) and Bakugo the Quilava

  8. A day of life-hating ended, thank God.

But another one will start tomorrow...

  9. You know what, I learned something today. ANY WILD MON CAN FLEE IN GEN 2. So, I'headbutting trees looking for a Heracross. I find one, I lower it's acc and attack it with my oddish (for Cut). Sudden;y this bitch runs away. (I didn;t attack with Quilava because that guys above lvl 20 at the moment and a level 10 heracross won't live a headbutt

  10. Fighting Bugsy. his Scyther had a single chance to attack my Quilava. "Goes for Fury Cutter". the remakes buffed you greatly, but now you're just making a fool of yourself. How did Shelly even live in your shadow?

      Jess

Wai, wai,wait... Which game you play Wolfox? I thought it was some kindof Rom Hack with the updated 'mons/moves/stats... If it's the canon old one with Bugsy (hell if I know which one), then yes, Fury Cutter is weak as hell and hate to admit that Bibs is right ...

Fury Cutter has 40 base power the first time you use it, and it doubles every next time, providing you use it consecutively.

Scyther can definitely survive one Flame Wheel by Quilava and set up Swords Dance. Then, it's pretty much GG, if it uses Aerial Ace.

    DO U WANNA GO.

no, but for real, the reason I havent finished is because reborn as a game doesnt particularly interest me tbh. the only episode ive finished thus far is e16, and that was not even a 'real' run, but rather a run using only mons I got by wonder trade. I did start a legit run some time ago but then charlotte kicked my ass and I couldnt be bothered to grind up two pokemon that could make sure id stand a chance so. rip.

Luckily I have not discovered a single thing that I am allergic to till now, and I am 26  years old. Also, I think we are a huge crew of ribombee lovers here.

I remember myself (when I was like 10 years old) watching honeybees for hours while they were gathering pollen, from a distance of 20 cms between my face and the very flower they were on.

They just kept doing what they were, never stung me once. Incredibly gentle and polite insects.

Another time, I had gone with my uncle to attend his agricultural work (I think he was watering his cotton crop fields) and a bee just sat on my arm. It never stung me, I just moved my arm and it flew away peacefully.

If you don't move wildly or annoy them, they will never hurt you! Plus, they only use their sting in life/death situations, like protecting their hive from enemies, since they die after stinging once... :(

Bumblebees aren't exactly identical to honeybees (appearance-wise), but they aren't aggressive. In fact, bumblebees are even less aggressive, even though they can sting multiple times without dieing. :)

That's the case with most wasps as well, even though they are more easily irritable.

  20. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Judge it by it's first chapter.

  21. I got rejected from the College I wanted to attend. The inevitable sadness that follows isn't... that unbearable.

I mean, a lot of my friends act as if their life is over. They react with tears and screams. I just play a round of Elder Scrolls and then I'm fine.

Imagine if EA ran a college. "Oh, you got bad grades in high school, but if you pay this microtransaction of $40,000, you increase your chances of Admission by 5%!"

Greece also has nation-wide examinations in the end of highschool. It is reasonable to be able to access the best public universities only if you prove yourself to be the best with a common examination system. Plus, education is for free in Greece, so I'd not complain about that, I think it's fair. Also, I have met many Chinese people in the year I spent in England, and they didn't seem the type of people that were no-lifers. They were social, friendly and upbeat, with various hobbies.

I'm a mechanical engineer, doing a PhD in the highest-rated university in Greece and I can assure you that I've seen that thing happen, being awarded a lower grade for solving a problem in a way that was "out-of-the-box". However, I've also received praise by other professors for that, and even scholarships and awards. So, it really is upon the person you face, like everywhere in the world.

Also, living in Greece, I honestly don't see how "higher education is considered the only thing defining success". In fact, my cousins live in a wealthy family, but are uneducated and always criticizing my family for being much less wealthy, but educated. Sayings like "your education is shit, only money matters" and "you are an educated piece of trash" are quite common, and I detest these snobbish people who think that their money can buy anything.

So, @AenaonDusky don't generalise opinions, because truth always has a flip side. You might not have experienced it, but it doesn't mean that it isn't there.

  23. Let's review my day today:

    • I made pancakes and ate them
    • I ate cereal
    • I made mac'n cheese and ate it
    • I ate pizza rolls
    • I made a mango smoothie and drank it
    • I ate chicken and rice

But the best part is...I got rep from Ice Cream Sand Witch! :)

It certainly isn't the end of the world.

But how each person reacts to failure depends on many things. On how high it was on your list of priorities, on whether or not you have any alternative plans scheduled already, on your personality traits, etc.

If you didn't want to attend a college all along (secretly) and were just applying cause of your parents'/family surroundings' pressure, then you might actually even be happy by failing. And feel relieved, playing Elder Scrolls or something.

Finally, paying money as tuition fees guarantees you'll be accepted. But I'd feel like a burden on my parents if I made them pay an outrageous amount of money for me to enjoy college life.

  25. someone please explain how I managed to surpass ICSW in rep. it's only by one point so it could change any minute, but still...

    1. Jess

      Jess

I think that in order to gain rep you must offer something to the community. Now it might be advice to young community members, help with corrupted files, trading away bred 'mons to people who ask, do a custom run to entertain the community members, or just be a positive person and exchange opinions around. Or be funny.

Whichever each person does depends on the personality of the person. I'd never be able to spend hours on my PC to fulfill the most absurd trade requests that people might have, the way @Zarc does. And I'm useless with RPGmaker and savefile editing, so I can't help with corrupt save files the way @walpurgis does. I like doing the other things though.

All in all, I think that people only gain reputation by offering some kind of service. From entertainment to a simple chat. If you're an asshole, then nobody will give you points.
