  1. Edmond had only to briefly glance at the cube of books to guess that it was probably Solomon's method of safely transporting Visrii to the bar. He sighed, and turned back to his phone: "I've been doing some digging on my own, around Chaos Engine and such, and have heard some odd things about the fourth attacker. Do you know anything about it? I presume Ben Dover is a fake name. Did you get his real one when giving the SIN?" Edmond then entered the club, cordially greeting the bouncer on his way past, and began to search the room with his eyes. He scanned the crowd, looking for unusual occurrences, or his compatriots.
  2. "Hmm. Definitely needs some tuning, but that can be done later. I don't think you quite understand the quality of this instrument--at least the quality it could be in with a little bit of maintenance...Would it be too provocative to the people downstairs if I walked through the lobby carrying the gun?" This last part was rhetorical. Edmond gingerly picked up the case and the violin separately, and exited the room, the door shutting behind him. He made his way down to the lobby, passed through, and began his return to the Psychedelic Pirate. While he walked, he texted the following to the councilor: "I'm still quite amazed that you managed to survive a coordinated attack by four people. Do you know who any of them were?"
  3. "What do your sister and father look like? What do they do when they visit?" Shelly was concerned, as things were becoming unsettling. She was a little excited about the prospect of medicine, and peered over to watch Zeta make it. When she mentioned not knowing what eating and drinking were, Shelly smiled. This should be easy to explain, right? "Eating is when you put food, like the way pokemon eat berries, in your mouth to give yourself energy, and drinking is when you put liquids--water, juice, that sort of thing--into your mouth." Shelly brought her hand to her mouth, and mimed chewing and swallowing when she explained eating. Who would have thought that she'd have had to explain this to someone.
  4. "Yeah. I got the memo that I wasn't in Kansas anymore, as the saying goes. Could you be a little more helpful? Perhaps explain things, instead of just giving statements without detail or proof?" Who was this guy? For that matter, who was everyone around here? They all seemed to be in various states of armament, so perhaps the man wasn't lying...
  5. Liliya Liliya received no answer to her query. "I said can someone PLEASE TELL ME--" She cut herself off. She had had a vision, a small glimpse of what the future held. Someone was going to fall on her in just a moment An ambush?. She looked up, and saw nothing. However, the glimpses had never been wrong, so she stepped a few feet to the left. An instant later, she was only a little surprised to see a woman fall out of midair and hit her head on the ground. Some sort of invisibility or teleportation. She tiptoed over to the body, and poked it. Well, she ain't dead. "Is this some kind of idiotic ambush?"
  6. Edmond put his hands up at the shotgun's statement, having no interesting inlooking through this demon's personal...items. He laughed out loud though when he saw the violin. "A Stradivarius? Ha! Though...how are we going to carry it properly without the case? And is there anything in particular you want me to do with it?" Edmond picked up the bow and played a few long tones on the strings, trying to get a feel for whether it was in tune or not.
  7. Liliya Liliya encountered no difficulty in exiting the store. In fact, the streets were unnaturally empty, silent beyond the coo of a pidgeon of to the right. She had an expression on her face, which, from her experience, could convince law enforcement to prematurely judge her innocent. There were some few skeptics on the force who could see through it, but her crimes had all been of the petty variety, so she guessed that talk of her wouldn't have circulated. Liliya made a sharp left, glancing behind her to check for pursuers. Nothing. She turned back to face forward, and stopped dead. There was a stone wall directly in front of her, in a much older style. This was something that wouldn't have been out of place in some of the cathedrals and forts in the city. She wasn't near any of them though. She turned back around, and found herself cut off by another wall of the same type. "The fuck?" She was in a hallway of some sort, and could hear voices. Somewhat panicked, she moved towards the voices. She peered around the door frame for a moment, and, satisfied that they weren't cops, entered. "Who are you people, and what is this place?" The tone was accusatory, though there seemed to have been a conscious effort to decrease it.
  8. Holding his hand over the receiver, Edmond spoke to Visrii, who appeared to be inspecting the room for weaknesses. "Um...Hello. How..." he hesitated a moment "...did you get here? Anyway, I guess you were probably stuck? You can exit the room if you say the word forty-two. You're on the third floor of a building housing many people entrenched in organized crime, so try not to start any fights on your way out. Most of our compatriots are back at the pirate, so you should meet them there." Edmond uncovered the receiver to speak to Solomon. "Yes, this is he. I've been well, and I hope the same is true for you. Now, I'm sending Visrii over to the Pirate, since he seems to have been locked in the Huxtaby apartment building. Maybe you could meet him outside, and try to make sure he doesn't encounter or cause any problems?" With that, Edmond began to search the bedroom, checking under the bed, and looking to see if the object of his search was perhaps in or on a nightstand.
  9. Turning to those who hadn't responded yet, Darien laughed. "Come on! It will be fun! A thousand Nuyen for killing someone who deserves it! I bet we could take her without you, but this is a great chance for gettin some dough." He stuck his own credstick into his pocket, already a little giddy about the money that had been paid up front.
  10. "Where does your father go when he's not here?" Shelly asked, before realizing that Kai had just asked the same question. Feeling a little foolish, she followed Zeta into the house, and looked around, trying to get a feel for the style of the dwelling, and whether it had been made by hand. Perhaps she would notice certain items that would identify this as similar to a house from one of the Nexuses.
  11. That's interesting to note... The councilor was alive, somehow. Edmond ignored most of the other responses, as they all seemed somewhat unimportant at the present. He did however, write a brief message back to the councilor giving his condolences, and expressing his joy at hearing that the man was alive. After a small tone alerted Edmond that he was being called, he answered the phone: "Hello? Who is this?" In a bit of multitasking, Edmond stepped across the room, trying to talk with the shotgun and the person on the phone at the same time. "I presume that what we need is through that door?" Edmond asked the shotgun while he covered the reciever of the phone. He made his way over to try the door handle. "Forty-two?"
  12. Oh...wow. I have Izumi's number, the lodge, and...Armstrong? Isn't that the guy Halley killed?! "Just a moment" Edmond muttered, more to himself than the shotgun. He sent off one message to Izumi: "In case you aren't aware, some of our compatriots attempted to assassinate someone and got their faces all over the place. Try to maintain a low-profile, as infiltration will be difficult if more people are wanted. Try to keep them from doing more damage if possible." To the lodge: "Don't ask me how I got this number, but I'm the guy you sold the shotgun to yesterday. I'm currently at the his old apartment. How much danger is there in being here and following his directions in general? He told me he just wanted to pick up a violin." To Armstrong: "Is this the person who was assassinated yesterday?" To every other contact in the phone: "Who is this? I'm not sure how this contact got in the phone, but I'd like to know who this is." Finishing this, Edmond stepped through the now open doorway and inspected the room around him.
  13. "What? Forty-two? I'm certain that's not correct...so I just need to say forty-two? Does that open the door somehow?" Edmond placed n emphasis on the word forty-two, and then tugged at the door handle again. Returning to a topic that had occupied his mind on the way over, he pulled out his phone, and searched through the contacts list, to see who was there.
  14. Edmond shrugged. "54, I suppose. Why do you ask? Also, do you have any advice on how to open this door? It is your place after all...it might be nice if you could get it open." Edmond frowned a bit, halfheartedly kicking the base of the door. He was a little perturbed at the nonchalance of the shotgun. Edmond had hoped to have been in and out of the building quickly, as, after all, he had other things he intended to do today.
  15. "Right." Edmond kept his eyes downward as he made his way over to the elevator, and ascended to the third floor. There were a few doors, but he headed straight to the one marked B, and attempted to open the door.
  16. "So where do we go now?" Edmond muttered to the gun. Those around him seemed likely to have made their way in the world through organized crime rather than petty theft and street gangs. He slowly walked through the lobby, heading towards the elevators, awaiting the spirit's directions.
  17. "Ah. Good. I used to play some myself, a while back..." Edmond flagged down a taxi, and handed over his crestick and told his destination. He sat in the back seat, pondering what the others who had not been involved in the murder fiasco...That would be...that jumping guy...what's his name?...also Izumi, and that Katsuo person...This is going to be an exceptionally difficult mission to pull off with so few people...
  18. Edmond sat bolt upright in response to the cackling and the alarm, and promptly slammed his head against the roof of the coffin. Oww... He sank back down, rubbing his small injury. "A violin? I suppose we can stop by...it won't take more than an hour or so, right? I need to get back in contact with some of my friends." He opened the door to his coffin, and slid himself out with his belongings. He stepped over to the coffin which Theo occupied, and rapped on the door. "You awake? I'm going to be going down to an apartment building to pick something up. Do you want to stop by the Pirate so that everyone knows where we are? Or do you want to tag along?" After allowing Theo to make his answer, Edmond pulled out his map, and set towards the Huxtaby building.
  19. "1000 nuyen for an easy task!? Sign me on!" After a moment, Darien began to have doubts about his rapid agreement. "What is the job? Is it hightly illegal?" There may or may not have been a small grin on his face when he said this.
  20. Sense looked up. Bellona had finished with the god, and had glanced towards them for some reason. He shrugged, not certain what she was doing. She would come over and tell them what had been said. Right? No, apparently not. When Bellona walked back towards the building instead of toward the group, Sense stood up. "She's going back into the building. We should follow, I suppose." He was slightly disgruntled that she had decided to leave them without trying to communicate properly. There might be an excuse, but for now, Sense walked of to follow Bellona. When he was close enough, he said, "We couldn't hear anything you said. Did the beekeeper say anything important?"
  21. Shelly remained quiet for the time being. Her one question, whether Zeta's Dad was here, had already been asked. Instead, she followed the party up to the house on the hill. It seemed to be the square which she had glimpsed earlier, but hadn't been able to identify. She briefly wondered how the other group was doing, but any fears she might have had were alleviated when she peered over Kai's shoulder at the A-comm. Sending strange fluids to people isn't what you do when you're in danger, so Shelly relaxed.
  22. Edmond entered the building and began his search for an empty "room", marked out by a small green light. Finding one, he slid his credstick into the reader next to the door, typed in the small code, and paid the 50 nuyen price. The coffins were accessed by small doors set into the walls, stacked on top of each other to the roof. All the coffins above the first two layers were accessed by elevated catwalks, and Edmond stood on the third such catwalk. This is certainly going to be cramped. He opened the door to a small box, barely larger than a coffin, it's namesake, and entered, shutting it behind himself. He found himself on a small dingy mattress with some sparse covers. There was a small bit of storage space in which to keep electronic items and clothes, but not much else besides an alarm clock and the thermostat. He set them both, planning to awake at 6:30 AM, and drifted off into sleep.
  23. Darien yawned as he arose. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his day, when he suddenly remembered that he had an appointment. God, why had he gone to sleep? He slammed open his apartment door, and dashed down to the street. From there, he jogged in the direction in which he new the cafe lay. He stepped in, and looked around.
  24. "Ehh. I'm sorry to say this, but no. If you want to, you may. However, they appear to be being watched rather well, and having our faces on camera helping known criminals with an escape wouldn't be great. It might be inevitable, but since they appear to be heading back this way, I'm not going to search them out. In fact..." Edmond glanced at his wrist, forgetting that it was now empty. He then checked the time on the phone, and, after seeing it, yawned. "...I'm going to get a bit of sleep. They have these places called coffin hotels..." Edmond set off at a brisk pace, heading to forty-eighth street, where he knew he would find a place to sleep. In the morning, he would probably return to "the Lodge" and try to get the Father's or Sister Maria's phone number. It would be useful to have someone to call if the demon got loose, or if Edmond needed any form of assistance with it. Might be a good idea to check out the scene of the murder... Edmond shuddered. Edmond goes to a coffin hotel.
  25. I should probably sleep at some point...the Neo-Anarchist's guide mentioned places called coffin hotels. Might as well check to see if there's anything useful on here though first. Edmond opened up the web browser, and began to sort through general Seattle news. He skimmed through headlines, and eventually found his way into the abyss known as Chaos Engine. It was filled with generally coarse people of limited vocabulary. But that was not what caused his face to turn into a frown of growing horror. He saw the video of Halley, Lexiel, Visrii, and what appeared to be a bullet in a cape, apparently assassinate someone, and become involved in a brawl on the roof. Oh dear god. I don't understand...Why...why would they...? "Theo, we may have some trouble with our mission...It appears that some of our comrades have gone and obtained a high profile for themselves." He held the phone out to Theo to show the video.
