  1. "Oh, I'm just trying to keep an eye on the terrain. They did tell us to look for somewhere safe. I'm mainly looking for high ground." Kai was the girls name? It seemed vaguely familiar, so Shelly posited that she must have previously introduced herself, and Shelly had forgotten or not been paying much attention. Typical. "Nice to meet you, Kai? Do you actually prefer Kai over Karla? Or do people call you that whether you prefer it or not?" Shelly had had prior experience of the ferocity with which people clung to the nicknames that they were comfortable with calling people... She tried to recall whether there had been any nicknames from her family and friends in #02 that she had appreciated. She drew a blank. "I'm Shelly. I suppose that if you come up with some nickname, I'll be fine, so long as it isn't insulting or anything." Shelly howeverwas secretly hoping that Kai would fail in this goal.
  2. "Ah, ok. Yeah, sorry about harping on the graduation...It's just confusing. Alright then." Shelly turned back to the blond and the aristocratic man. "I suppose we should go then?" Shelly followed as Kai began to walk in a seemingly random direction. As they walked, Shelly looked around, searching for any possible hills or high ground to try to steer Kai towards. Have a vantage point from which to survey the surrounding landscape might be safest.
  3. "...so we need a representative then?" For obvious reasons, Sense had no intention of volunteering. His diplomacy skills seemed to have gotten rusty; whether he had ever had diplomacy skills was not a question he cared to ask. He made a quick survey of the team, and settled upon Bellona and Charity. And Charity didn't want the task. He kept his eyes fixed on Bellona. She had seemed fairly meek earlier. Would she be willing to take charge in a situation like this? "Bellona? Will you, you know, be our representative? Most senior and all that..."
  4. "Yeah, I'm--" Shelly scowled as she was cut off by the hyperactive blond. While the girl was passing on the information about their current location to the dispatcher, Shelly had held out the A-comm to her. Now however, as the girl began to ramble, she pulled the A-comm back and turned away. "So...yeah. None of us three are hurt. And what she said about the environment is pretty accurate. I'm pretty confused though...so we've graduated? That was all, no ceremony, just the test? And how exactly did we get here? Are we still in a virtual world?"
  5. "Loud and clear. So...could you perhaps fill me in on what just happened? I know you all like to have your fun with the graduation ceremony, but don't you think this is overdoing it a bit?" Shelly had a few choice words in mind for the Academy team, but now was not the time, especially if this was a continuation of the test. She sighed, took a deep breath, and tried to remember a question that she had thought of earlier. No use. The sudden disturbance and brief moment of internal panic had derailed her train of thought quite thoroughly. She settled therefore on a more mundane query. "So...um...How did you decide which pokemon to let each graduate use?" Shelly inquired, unsure what else to say.
  6. "I presume that we'll probably want to set the..extraction...for six days from now? That would give us suitable time to collect info and equipment, but would also give us an extra day if we needed it, right? Why don't we all get our bearings in groups of two for the rest of today? We can find our way around, pick up some street info, maybe buy some stuff...One group should probably get our infiltrator a SIN as soon as possible..." Edmond peered over the text file, taking in what he understood. "I'll probably be checking out a stuffer shack first, unless I'm needed for acquiring the SIN? Does anyone have any thoughts on who should be doing that?"
  7. When she opened her eyes, Shelly found herself...in a forest? It must still be a simulation then. There were only two people near her. One was a blond girl who had wandered off towards the trees. Shelly couldn't tell much else from behind. The other companion was a young man, with a somewhat odd hairstyle. Judging by his posture, he was likely a graduate of the richer academy. "Well. You all just had to go and break the simulation, didn't you..." Shelly murmured as the world shattered around her. Shelly recalled there being a set of twelve messages on her A-comm before...whatever had just occurred...happened. She took a moment to search the A-comm for any sign of the unread messages. Perhaps there would be some info won why they were here? In response to the static laden message which burst from her A-comm, Shelly carefully stated her current situation. "This is Shelly Ashton, though you could probably tell from the signal. Anyway, I can here you, though you're breaking up a bit. I'm currently with two others in the middle of a forest."
  8. "Ha!" Darien chuckled as his bullets struck their mark. He was just poking his head around the corner when a woman began to gnaw on a bullet. Such a sight was unusual to say the least... Seizing the opportunity, Darien jumped to his feet, and dashed away from his recently acquired cover. With yell, he smashed his gun over the top of the woman's head. Darien smacks the bullet-eating woman over the head with his gun.
  9. "Believe me, I'm am perfectly stable." There was no need for the type of concern that Radovan was expressing. Shelly simply had a habit of shifting around when she was bored. She looked away from the man, and pulled out her A-comm once more, as that seemed to be what many were doing. "These things really should be able to contact the security chief, or whomever..." The sudden change of subject to Shelly's personal A-comm might have been taken as a tacit hint that she did not want to speak to the man. However, he seemed in no mood to leave. Small talk was not Shelly's forte. "Which training did you go through? Rich or poor?" He had to be from the rich one; no one in the discount academy would have that kind of foolhardiness...
  10. "What an embarrassment." Having completely failed in his attempt to use food based weaponry, Darien reached into his jacket and pulled out his gun. He jammed his finger into the small trigger guard area, and fired a quick burst at the mage, before ducking behind a counter. He hid there, catching his breath, and looking for anything not bolted down. Darien fires a burst (3 shots) at the mage guy, ducks behind a counter, and searches for something to throw.
  11. Shelly's lip twitched as the odd fellow approached her. Apparently he had not been paying attention when she introduced herself before... "I'm Shelly. Radovan? Are you sure you don't want to be called 'Rad'?" She rocked back and forth on her feet as she spoke, keeping her hands clasped behind her back. What did this everly enthusiastic, possibly incompetent man want? People only approached you if they expected to gain something... Shelly had no idea what to make of Radovan yet, so she simply continued to watch him.
  12. "...Visrii. I believe that Mr. Johnson said that this man would be willing to provide a valid SIN? It should be more of a simple purchase than a brutal interrogation, correct?" Edmond, slightly disturbed, reached over to the beige briefcase. He carefully undid the clasps, opening it a fraction, and peered inside. Edmond carefully opens the briefcase.
  13. With a small sigh, Shelly arose. The show seemed to be over, and she had had no chance to prove herself. It felt odd to receive something when she had done nothing, but she had enjoyed watching the battle. Her companions had performed far more admirably against the stronger opponent. She turned to the man who was performing some sort of accent impression. "They'll probably send a message over the A-comms if we're truly finished down here, and then we'll leave the same way we arrived."
  14. Why couldn't a troll ever grab a soy burger or two in peace?? Darien scowled at the machine-gun toting woman, as he slowly turned, gradually raising his hands into a gesture of surrender. Darien began to speak, keeping his voice as calm and peaceful as was possible for a troll, "So..." His eyes widened as he peered past the criminals. "Shit..." As soon as one of their eyes turned to glance behind, he flung one of his soy burgers into the woman's face. Darien tries to distract the enemy, then throws his soy burger in the machingun woman's face.
  15. Edmond diligently noted down the facts of the commission as Mr. Johnson doled them out. Schematics of the floors would be invaluable on this mission, though it sounded as though some form of reconnaissance was still necessary? "So, do people with a 'valid' SIN have access to certain areas that will still need to be scouted out?" 80,000 seems like quite a decent pay...so ten thousand apiece? Edmond turned towards thosee around him. "We accept the mission, right? I mean, we did get summoned here for a reason, and this does seem like a pretty big thing..."
  16. At the sudden screech, Shelly sprang to her feet, searching for the origin of the deranged cry. Upon noting the unexpected bombardment, she paradoxically became more relaxed. The next stage of the test had begun, freeing her from any lingering fear of the unknown. She gave a quick glance at her A-comm, but it remained blank and unresponsive. Evidently Shelly would not be a part of this test either. Once again she would be a spectator.
  17. Edmond stood up, and held out his hand with a smile. "I'm Edmond. We've heard a lot about the fact that we'll be performing a dangerous task, but we really haven't gotten much information about the company we'll be infiltrating, a full rundown on the security, or how much we'll be paid...care to enlighten us?"
  18. Edmond looked up from the magazine as the others entered the room. "We've got a bit of information in this magazine. It has some information on Aztechnology, the place we'll be infiltrating, but it's probably most useful as a basic overview of the tech and culture of the city. It'd probably be best for anyone who has time to skim through it." "Do you want this? I'm not planning on drinking it...The bartender just gave it to me without my consent. It should be higher quality than the stuff that Solomon's drinking..." He proffered the drink to Lexiel.
  19. Introductions? It will be rather pointless if we don't pass the test, but then, everything's pointless if I don't pass... " I am Shelly Ashton." Fairly brief, but Shelly could think of nothing more to add. She resumed fiddling with her A-comm.
  20. "What a surprise. It was a test," Shelly murmured. Not a very difficult one, it would seem. The three students had each been given incredibly powerful Pokemon, two of which had resisted the Dodrio's attacks. The only question had been whether these people were able to work well with their unfamiliar Pokemon. One of them definitely failed this test. He's either overconfident, or simply an idiot. Laughing maniacally at everything, and then failing to get Tyranitar to attack? And he's supposed to be graduating?! After standing in silence for a moment, Shelly spoke up a bit. "There'll probably be another battle. That was simply too easy. If this is really a test for our graduation, I'll bet that they have something more in store for us." In the silence that followed the cacophony of this first battle, Shelly sat down on the ground. She felt carefully around with her hand, trying to grasp the connection between the virtual images and the actual texture of the ground. She pulled out her A-comm, and checked for any messages and fiddled with some of the settings. She hadn't felt the signature vibration, but it was possible that she had missed it while watching the battle.

  23. Paz? What kind of name is that? Seeing that it was the general pattern Shelly knelt down to try to "register", placing her hand on the circle as the others had done. She was somewhat surprised that it hadn't done so when she had been performing her previous experiments, but she attributed that to the necessity of a particular set of motions. When Shelly stood back up, a Dodrio had appeared, directly between them and the Porygon-Ducklett. Is this the beginning of the test? This thought foundered when she saw that neither the Porygon-Ducklett, nor the Dodrio had actually done anything of interest yet. They still had to wait. However, her companions seemed to find this unreasonably inspiring for some reason. The one child had continued speaking to the Porygon-Ducklett, odd perhaps, but talking directly to Pokemon could calm some people in unfamiliar circumstances. Two of the others were disturbingly enthusiastic. A pirouette from one and a sort of battle-cry from the others. "You people seem to be making an awful lot of assumptions. I think we'll probably receive guidance from our a-comms," she said quietly, though with a hint of exasperation. Speculating is fine as long as they don't make a mistake based on false pretenses.
  24. "Alright." So their help was of the stubborn type. The type who preferred to work alone. That, or they perhaps were simply anxious about their bees. Sense decided that in any case, their still anonymous aid could do whatever he or she liked. Ansuz had deserved what he had received, though Sense would have preferred to deal out the retributions himself. With nothing else to do, Sense turned around slowly, and sought out a seemingly empty piece of ground, where he sat down. It would probably be a bit until their benefactor arrived. According to Gypsy. Gypsy had been wrong already though today. And so, Sense remained somewhat alert, although fairly bored. He contemplated the others, observing their actions, and searching out their habits. The way a person acts during boredom or suspense could tell a lot. Sense himself absentmindedly traced some small patterns in the dust. In time, as his finger moved through the dirt distractedly, something resembling a delicate flower emerged. He looked down, and smirked, half amused, half surprised. With a flick of his hand, he brushed away the sketch.
