  1. Don't you mean Sigmund "Dr. Butt"/ "Dr. Geezer" Connal? Did you plan to fetch Pumpkaboo and/or Golett? IIRC you can catch them both at that point of the game.
  2. @Jess Fortunately both Fighting-type Leaders are out of the way by now. Dodrio, Psychic-type Silvally and Passimian did good job, especially against Samson. I've beaten both of this epsiodes new Leaders too.
  3. These are the mons I used throughout my latest playthrough (excluding Geodude and 2 Gravelers which I used to defeat Arceus) The upper row consists of mons that I used early game or for a couple of gym battles. The lower row is my established team since Agate. I have to say that I really liked this team. I might need new mons for the last two Gym Leaders, though. Edit: I just noticed I left out Goldeen and Wigglytuff (the Igglybuff you get from the lady).
  4. Goldeen with Lightingrod is actually pretty decent, since it can't take damage from Electric-type moves. You can also try Mightyena.
  5. I mean, I used that Sweet Heart before talking to her crush. Should've mentioned that before, sorry.
  6. I already used the one given by the girl in Obsidia Trainer School, now I need another one to complete that side quest. Is there a way to obtain Sweet Hearts or am I out of luck?
  7. Phew! All Gym Leaders up to this point defeated. While the new gym leaders were tough, they weren't the most difficult ones for me. I still have some side quests left, apparently.

Spoilers regarding the new Gym Leaders:

    Spoiler

Titania's Excadrill definitely hits hard, but you can counter Titania with her own strategy (kinda): Magic Seeds. My hoarding habit was finally of use, since I had plenty of Seeds. Incineroar, A-Dugtrio and Bewear did the heavy lifting in this battle.

I have to say, I liked Amaria's water puzzle, except the part where she tried to kill me. That Swampert was in my opinion the toughest one to take down, followed by Azumarill. Assault Vest Araquanid was really useful here, because it could easily tank Kingdra and Ludicolo.

      Spoiler

I just defeated Titania in my Bug monotype, while I still can't figure out how to do it in my original save file. xD

It was pretty much a sweep by my Galvantula, believe it or not. Forretress, Illumise, Volbeat and Scolipede helped as well, but Galvantula carried hard. I gave Illumise a Magical Seed too btw, it helped a lot. And I didn't even have to use my Moxie Heracross, while Volcarona stayed boxed for this one, cause Klefki is a complete counter to Volcarona in this field.

      Congrats Zargerth!

Thanks! My team definitely lacks Special Attackers. I used to have Heliolisk in rotation but it has already fallen behind.

Mine has a lot of special attackers, but none able to hurt Steel types, since Bugs have no Ground types... When I was breeding for a okay-ish Joltik though, I checked the Hidden Power types and found one with Ground! That's how Excadrill was dealt with :D

Heliolisk is a good choice. Give it the Exp. Share and use the trainers in Grand Hall. Luck Incense too will help you buy a few are Candies. Today the double-battle couple is in Grand Hall, which means ~25k per win (with Luck Incense) ;)

  8. Well, shit.

I didn't manage to catch either one: Dugtrio died and Mandibuzz used Whirlwind...

Wow. that's so lucky it's unlucky

That was the second shiny Mandibuzz to do that. I also witnessed a shiny Excadrill getting Earthquaked to oblivion by it's fellow Sandslash.

Something is telling me I'm not supposed to catch these shiny mons.

  9. So this just happened...

    Spoiler

I just swept Ciel with Dodrio. One Swords Dance, Two Thrashes and plenty of luck!

  10. (Major spoilers!) So, I'm at the point where I have to make the choice. In short, what are the advantages/disadvantages of each alternative?

    Spoiler

What happens if I battle Taka? What if I don't?

      Spoiler

If you battle him, you don't get to spend time with him later on in Tourmaline Desert, but he gets to live. If you don't fight him, you and him will spend a lovely time bonding with each other, but your friendship will be short-lived.

  11. IIRC she has Milotic and Rotom-Wash. Especially Milotic is tanky, and Rotom-Wash has one weakness only: Grass. On the other hand, Rotom doesn't learn many Ice-type moves. It might not be worth it to waste your ability capsules on Togedemaru (that you most likely won't be using after defeating Valarie). Ludicolo is godsend, it takes only neutral damage from Ice-type moves. Giga Drain and Energy Ball are both good moves, but unfortunately only Lotad learns them...
  12. Your friend can make the case that for her Pokemon is supposed to be light-hearted, not gloomy and outright depressing or anything of the sort. From what I understand, there are people who aren't comfortable with the darker approach some Pokemon fangames have. With that said, I don't think "immoral" is the right word to describe Reborn.
  13. Welcome, and yes you are in the right place. From what I understand the problems with Valarie stem from the fact that you can't just go back and catch the mons you want/need, you're stuck with what you have. Serperior is pretty good, just beware Ice Beams and spam Giga Drain. I imagine Oricorio might work here - or any other fast Electric-type, especially after setting up Electric Terrain. You can do that with Togedemaru, for example. If your Togedemaru has Sturdy, all the better.
  14. Altogether? I think around 300+. Could be more, really.
  15. Dunno about Staryu, but I found Wishiwashi in Ametrine Mountain (I think it was that one, point being it can be found by surfing in one of the three mountains)
  16. I found those in the Water Treatment Center, but there might be other locations too.
