I've tested it for different genders and they had different move sets, do problems like this occur on older save files?

Ops I didn't see that. You should be able to do the quest then if you talk to the chandelure statue in the gym

Odd key quest got changed in v8. I think that you have to finish kristiline town help centre missions to get a hint about gym and then you'll be able to trigger the event in gym on the statue

This thread isn't for editing your pokemon, you're only allowed to ask for pokemon to be added on your save file for playthroughs/monotypes that are brand new, not already existing and going on -
