  1. I think it's been said it might be done one day but not sure, last episode maybe, but it's not a priority. And since now there's the gen VII that would probably be added in the last episode, I guess it's even less likely
  2. Lost vs Marcello http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/reborn-lc-66286 Really well played from his part
  3. Since it's already coded in Ametrine mountain in a place you can access from Reborn city with a HM you get after going in Agate, I guess it should be available in E16. We're already lvl 80, I guess some new pseudo legendaries can be released now
  4. That way you can't give the final blow and Arceus has Recover. A focus sash Rattata or Taillow with Endeavor and Quick Attack is easier to get and you're sure to kill arceus
  5. lvl 1 Geodude + potions until it runs out of PP then kills itself with Struggle. Quite fun to see
  6. In my first run of Reborn, I was still a noob that was just starting to avoid teaching physical moves to a special attacker, yet I managed to finish the last available episode. Hardly (damn, that battle with El !), but I did it. Now I can do the game with the hardcore mod with only dragon types in my team, so just a Deino as a starter and for a long time just that Deino, a Noibat and an Axew to beat improved gym leaders. The leaders are hard when you're a beginner, but not "too" hard,. See it as a good opportunity to get better
  7. Your IV are far enough for Reborn. Even EV training can be optionnal if you play well. As for Ice Beam, maybe it's possible by going back to E12 (it still used gen V breeding mechanics where you could breed for TM moves), otherwise you'll have to do with Aurora Beam
  8. I feel like a quick answer to the most frequent questions in the main post could be a good idea... Gen 7 will probably added in the last release since it's going to be a lot of work (spriting, changing the game to add events and encounters,...). The level cap may be raised above lvl 100 if necessary, more likely after the league, but Ame will try to avoid if possible if I recall correctly
  9. There's also a physical set based on Dragon Dance. Less raw power unless you use several dances, but you keep your speed boost. With it you can use Outrage and Waterfall, and I don't remember the last move my physical Kingdra has.
  10. Lost vs Mr LGFD http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/reborn-stabmons-64166 Scizor would have survived without that critical hit :'( But it's the game so gg
  11. Or without items Destiny Bond Weezing. That thing is rather bulky, so try again until you survive a hit (if Judgment gets the grass type due to the field you'll survive) to place a destiny bond. Small advice if you don't want to loose the 10000 xp from the battle, send a pokemon, then instead of attacking send out another pokemon that will die. Then send your Weezing or Golem depending on your prefered strategy, that way when they die with Arceus your first pokemon gets the xp
  12. Without TM and move relearner, I can't teach it anything good enough. The best it could do is Horn Attack spam, maybe with a Focus Energy to do some critical hits. If I use it now, I would have wasted a pokemon/moon stone I could still use for Aya or Terra, and I'm almost sure in hardcore mod Corey would have super effective moves to destroy it if it can't do more than Horn Attack
  13. Thanks ! And it's not so much a pain in the ass, not much more than usual monotypes since I use rare candies to train a new team to the level of the previous one. The difference is mainly that since you keep you pokemons the time to get one or two badge, you don't bother making them perfect. I don't look too much for IV, I'll probably never breed, maybe not even EV train them correctly. But since they have a single leader to face, I prepare them for this special leader and I don't have to think "but if I give it this move now it will be hard for the next battles", I prepare them for one battle and I don't care for the next ones. So now, I'm struck with poison types. I already thought about doing a mono poison run, thinking it would be an easy one with all those poison types you get early. I was wrong, those pokemons are bad. Especially if you plan on fighting a poison type leader with them. They learn almost only poison type moves and they evolve late. Around the level cap so I should be able to evolve them for Corey, but before that I have pulse Tangrowths and worse, a Chatot to defeat. I'm probably gonna play with evasion and stall, since many of them learn SmokeScreen or Minimize. To do that I also spend so time gathering black sludges. Yes, that thing wild Trubbish carry 5% of times. And since I had no pokemon with Thief or Covet, I had to weaken them everytime to see if they regenerate, then catch them if yes. And now, I'm going to have hell with Taka, with the poor team I have with me. I miss my Cherrim. Taka
  14. Are move that would break smogon clauses still banned or are they allowed if they are the same type of the user ? Like evasion moves
  15. After defeating the PULSE I grabbed in Obsidia park the two last members of my team, a Bellsprout and and Oddish. Both lvl 15 so they'll need a lot of training, like my Hoppip. So I start battling all the trainers on my way to Florinia and her little dog Fern. But as I feared those few trainers were far from enough to raise my team, especially since I need to overlevel four of them to teach them moves. So I trained, raised my team as I wanted, and with some new moves including Substitute, the casino's best TM. 7000 coins but it's not really a problem, this Voltorb flip game is kind of addictive when you're on it. Now I can beat the "top dog" to the ground Fern: Now that the grasshole is out of my way, I can finally battle the leader, Florinia. I hope my strategy will work, I have really bad memories of her from my dragon mono... Florinia: This was a very good battle ! I really thought I wouldn't make it with that Tropius. But the desert rose couldn't survive poison and raw power. Now I'll have to change my team again. Fortunately there's a monotype availability guide to help with that.
  16. I guess Reborn uses ORAS mechanics since I'm sure mine learned EQ naturally lvl 33
  17. As soon as I left the Gym, I started to change my team to the next type, grass. And I faced the main problem of this run : training. The only grass type I had at that moment was a lvl 5 Budew. I quickly caught a lvl 5 Cherubi too. But that was not enough for Victoria and her Emboar, so I had to resign to catch a Burmy. But to do so I had to raise a Bidoof to lvl 17, then catch a lvl 7-10 Burmy, and then train those three weak pokemons to lvl 20 to face Victoria, all that with maybe 4 trainers and wild pokemons. Time to tweak a bit the rules of the run : now I can hack rare candies to raise pokemons available before the previous badge to the level cap of this previous badge. Otherwise this run will be almost only training. So, after a lot of walk to raise Budew's happiness and a few rare candies (I finally discovered how to modify save files), I now have lvl 20 Roselia, Wormadam and Cherubi. Now I can deal with the mess in Obsidia ward. The few trainers I meet are no match for me, but then I meet Victoria on my way to the slums. And of course she tries to stop me. But she won't beat me this time Victoria Too bad Torchic wasn't there for its revenge, but now Victoria will let me go through the slums. And I don't even need to go to a pokemon center before. I now go through the slums, just quickly catching a Hoppip on my way. Just to notice after that is learns Acrobatics lvl 28 only, so I'll have to raise it without evolving it to lvl 28, then deacreasing its lvl to 25 to evolve it into Skiploom lvl 26 then Jumpluff lvl 27. This is gonna be long. The street rat in the slums aren't really hard to beat, it mainly the number of them that gets my pokemons weaker each time. But despite a Fury Cutter Paras that cut through my team (thanks Hoppip for locking it on Stun Spore with encore), I manage to reach the Scraggy gang without much problems. Scraggy gang The battle wasn't too hard, but still needed a minimum of strategy. Next will be the real nightmare of this mono grass part of the run: the battle with Cain. I don't think Cain will be gentle with me Cain: Now that the baby Oshawott (that more seemed like a stronger Dewott during the battle x) ) is safe with Cain, maybe I should go back to Obsidia deal with that mess. The pulse battle may be hard since my team only has NVE moves against that bulky pokemon PULSE Tangrowth: One PULSE left. Now I can get some more grass types, train them, then beat the grasshole (I love that nickname xD) and Florinia.
  18. Chlorophyll Liiligant with Growth and a field that double it's effect. Sleep Powder first turn, then 2 Growths and even a Charizard could hardly resist a Petal Dance (already verified that while training a Lilligant in Reborn's Grand Hall). Mega-Venusaur isn't weak to fire and can learn Earthquake. You can also set up rain with Ludicolo. A well placed Serperior. Even a Rotom-M for birds. There are plenty of possibilities, especially if you have a good field.
  19. Looks like there's an hint to the starter's secret. The MC activating something (the bracelet ?) causing a yellow aura going to the starters. Then a small symbol corresponding to their type, and next the animations of something that look like very powerful moves. Could be Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn and Hydro Cannon but I don't think so.
  20. I prefer the sprites too. The 3D models look much more simple, and their colors are so dull you may think the pokemons are shiny when you're used to sprites. And there's Gengar. The poor ghost looks like a big marshmallow now
  21. It's possible with a lot of save editing, but it would make the game really easy since leaders usually have stronger pokemons that the available ones. So, now I'm in Mosswater factory, ready to prevent this team Meteor to blow Julia's gym. I feel this is going to be another tough battle Aster and Eclipse I'm at the gym. After a few BOOOOMMMS, I'm before Julia, ready to bite the dust. I just noticed the boost to electric moves is only for grounded pokemons, so Tynamo won't get it. Great. Julia: Wow ! That was a hard battle. Hopefully Florinia will be easier to face with a full team.
  22. Yes, it's this same battle that gave me this idea. Typhlosion and Darmanitan vs Typhlosion and Darmanitan. I didn't lose a single pokemon. And yes, the field effect will help a lot that way.
  23. At first I wanted to wait until E16 release to start a new run, but I haven't made a run of Reborn for too long (a bit less than 4 months to be exact. Really long). So here am I, starting my 8th playthrough with something a bit different from the monotypes I've already done. This time, instead of sticking to a type the entire run, I'll keep a type just the time I get the corresponding badge, I'm going to fight every leader using their own type (hence the title of the run). And since no one has made such a run yet, I'll try to post it here The rules : - I can only use pokemons of the type of the next leader I'm going to face - Unlike most monotypes, I can't use a pokemon who doesn't have the good type even if its evolution does. So no Trapinch to face Sapphira (yes, I know, stupid example x) ) - This is going to be a Reborn Hardcore run (seems my mono dragon run wasn't enough to make me flee this madness) in set mode - I can catch pokemons that are not of the good type to keep them for later - When changing type, I can use hacked rare candies to raise pokemons availables before the last leader to the level of the previous leader's level cap to have an up-to-date team. So, let's go First, I need to pick a starter. Torchic has always been my favorite and thanks to the Fighting type of its evolution I'll be able to use it 3 times, so the choice was quick. After a few soft resets, here's my first pokemon : Torchic (M) Ability: Speed Boost Relaxed Nature IVs: 29 HP / 29 Def / 28 SpA / 18 SpD / 30 Spe - Scratch - Growl - Ember It's nature is really bad, but with such IV who cares ? Especially since the psychologist is available before Samson and Charlotte. Then I had to face Cain and Victoria. Cain's Nidoran was easy with Ember, but Tepig was a bit harder due to its resistance to fire. Hard enough to beat me in fact. It doesn't matter, Torchic will have its revenge later. Now that I'm registered and have my pokedex and my shoes (like, you can't run without Silph Co. shoes ?!), it's time to get pokemons for my first monotype team. A few weeks later (who wouldn't wait actual weeks for a stormy weather to get the pokemons he can't play with. No one ? Really ?) I had my Tynamo and my Blitzle, plus that poor bullied Pachirisu. That's all I can have. I hope it will be enough to beat Julia. I knew Pachirisu was weak, but training it to lvl 13 (level it learns Sparks) was a real pain. I may have even wished once that those kids threw it in the toxic water before I stopped them... But I got rid of all the small trainers, so I guess I'll have to deal with the grasshole now. Fern
  24. The difference is that the pokemons we don't have access yet are the strongest or just don't fit any place we have access now, it's not just because aren't coded. Like pseudo-legendaries (Metagross excepted) or just Gyarados which are so powerful they would break the game, or Hippopotas and other desert pokemons that will probably be available when we reach the Tourmaline desert. And they can appear in your opponent's teams. If you implement gen VII, you won't put the route 1's bird or normal type end game with Deino and Gible, you'll put them at the beginning with other weak pokemons. And you'll have to add new pokemons to your opponents' teams. And there are also the mechanics, because adding pokemons made for gen VII mechanics to a gen VI game would be ankward and could cause some issues. Maybe they will add gen VII over 2 episodes to spread the amount of work, but surely no more. And surely not just adding starters out of nowhere
  25. Reborn is not only the game where you can choose among every starter, it's also the game where you can get every pokemon. If you can't have all gen VII mons, the game will feel incomplete. Same thing if you add them all without all the new moves, abilities and mechanics. So to add them all you need to sprite them, code the new moves, abilities and mechanics, add new pokemons to the database, update the database for past gen mons whose learnset will change, modify the encounter for wild pokemons, create new events for some of them and so new areas for some of the new events. You also have to update trainers to give some gen VII mons, because if you can have them but not your opponents it will feel strange. Boss battle will have to be redone, not only to add new mons but also to rebalance the battle according to gen VII (like steel types that are not immune to poison anymore with Salandit). The smallest change implies a cascade of other changes to do things well. That's why it's all or none
