I never went that far in Zeta/Omicron. I tried two times, every time it made me start another run of Reborn before the 5-6th badge xD. But I don't like the idea of PNJ with pokemons lvl 105-120 while yours can't go higher than 100. It just feels too unfair and illogical. When you face Solaris on top of Pyrous mountain, against his lvl 75 Garchomp while your own pokemons can't go higher than lvl 45, it doesn't feel too unfair. Not because you can beat it using FEAR or Perish song, if he bothered sending a second pokemon you wouldn't stand a chance. It's because you know one day you'll be strong enough, and even the leader (you don't know about Lin at that time) of Team Meteor you be able to defeat you. And this day indeed happen, you beat him and his lieutenants, almost easily. But if you face opponents with pokemons lvl 105 or even 120, this time you know you can't be that strong. Of course you're a human player against a rather stupid AI most of the time so you're probably going to win, but still. To me it feels like cheating, unfair. Unless maybe if it's a legendary, but in that case you're probably able to catch it And it's also illogical since when you're at this point, it means you're the champion, the strongest trainer of Reborn. You stopped the team who destroyed Reborn and was going to destroy the world and that none other seemed able to face, you probably met Arceus, maybe even caught, you faced the E4 and the champion and defeat them. And now you face trainers who suddenly get so strong you can even reach their level ? Isn't it a bit strange ?

The damage are not separated, it's just double type. So against a Lapras with Water Absorb, it would do BP x1.5 (surf boost) x1.5 (electric type boost) x2 (electric SE on water) x0 (water), so no damage. Same for a ground type.
-
There's no confirmation but it's pretty sure the picture is from Azurine lake
-
Better than Quagsire : Mega Swampert. EV in attack and Sp Def since water surface and underwater fields activate Swift Swim, makes non-water grounded pokemons slower and underwater field makes physical moves weaker. But both those terrains makes ground type moves useless. And those mons would be fragile against water type moves, since they have no resistance to it and water moves are heavily boosted. But Lanturn could be a good thing. Another way to deal with Amaria could be fighting water with water, since with the boost from the field it would still deal more than neutral damage on her pokemons, while you would be more resistant and not affected by the maluses for non-water types. I remember my mono-fire run battle against Charlotte as one of my easiest gym battles

Dragon in intense mode. Did one on Reborn Hardcore, with just a Deino as a starter. It was long, hard and painful at first. But once your dragons begin to evolve and easily wreck all you opponents, you really feel it was worth the hard times
-
And as a secondary electric type, weakening it even more against your electric types, while her water types will be hit by boosted electric type moves I don't think it will be something like abyssal ruins. First because it was not very interesting, second because the houses on the picture don't look like remnants from an ancient civilization. More likely they are houses those terrain sunk into the lake during the earthquake.

3 words : Magnezone's Electric Terrain. Also works with Roserade's Grassy Terrain

Not a good idea. The problem with raising the level cap above 100 is that it means changing one of the fundamental mechanics of Pokemon. And yet it's just changing a 100 by a 150 or else that don't drastically change the game. However, if you start using more than 6 pokemons or more than one mega evolution, you still change the mechanics but with much more impact. So better raise the level cap Leaders with different strategic teams heavily boosted by field effects ? 5 of them so that you can't just bring a full team of rock and electric types against the flying one for instance ? Yeah, no way it can be tough Up to now gym leaders never had pokemons of higher level than ours, except sometimes their ace. Yet many people still struggle to face just one of them. So I don't really think the league would need a raised level cap. The raised level cap would rather be post game, to keep the feeling that you're getting stronger. At the beginning we had no TM, no items, no powerful pokemons like Gyarados, just weaklings. Then they started to earn levels, getting stronger by evolving, getting new moves for their natural movepool, we also started to have better mons. Then we became stronger, with good mons, fully evolved, and so we started to get good TMs, even better mons or the items to evolve them (like 10th floor of department store in E16 to get protector, magmarizer, etc). Now we should begin to have access to the best items like choice items or life orbs. Then mega evolution. When the mega evolution ? Before or after E4 ? I would say before, but then we'll need something else to keep getting stronger post game. The question is what. Raised level cap is one possibility, but surely not the only one and probably not the best one since we won't get new moves or evos with increased levels anyway. The problem is that I have no idea of what else can be done

For me the best is the Grand Hall. Trainers there give a bit less xp than clown Indra, but they are much easier to beat so you can get the xp faster, and with weaker pokemons which is even more useful when you train new pokemons
-
With a full team of EV trained pokemons lvl 70+ I sometimes have hard times beating the clown in Agate Circus (whose mons are 10 levels lower), because they have perfect IV, EV and nature, the best items (choice items, life orbs), and competitive movesets. So a strong pokemon PULSE boosted could easily be hard to defeat even without exceeding the lvl 100. Don't forget that for now the pulses were only weak mons like Tangrowth or Swalot...

To be precise, at the end of the last part you can currently do, well, to avoid spoil let's just say it is said that nothing more will happen before the chaos in Reborn city is over. So we'll probably see the end of this event in E16. Or at least the next part that will still leave us without the pokemon x)

Here's the replay : http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/reborn-doublesuu-59474 A good lesson for everyone : always check your EV and nature before the match. I forgot my Ninetails' ones, it may have cost me the victory :/

I remember Ame clearly stating that she won't do that. She wanted pokemon to keep their own personnality, to be unique. So IV won't change My point of view about cheating is that in a solo game it's not very important, and depends on the context. I would say don't do that at first, but sometimes doing the same thing again and again can get boring. Speed hack ? Keeping the game at 2x because it's too slow is not cheating. While 5x speed for EV training may be a bit cheating. But when you already have 30 pokemon fully EV trained for your main run alone (+ 6 other runs with trained mons) training at normal speed is just a pain so it gets justified. It's not like you never did it normally. Same for shinies. The 30 pokemon I mentioned are all shiny. Found at normal speed. But when you spent days trying to find a shiny Horsea then a shiny Skrelp, and you planned to get a shiny Slakoth (normal Slakoth are even worse to get than Horseas), it just gets too boring. So I cheated to get it. Cheat must not be the normal way to play, but sometimes a small help to reduce a boring part of the game like grinding can justify it. The main goal of a game is to be enjoyed, not to be endure. Then there are monotypes. I did a dragon mono with the hardcore mode, which as you can imagine would be completely impossible with just a Noibat to begin with. So I modified the game to get a Deino as a starter. And most people would have added an other starter (which seeing how hard the beginning was is probably better). This is not really cheating, it's just a small adaptation to keep playing the game without always doing the same thing. More a mod than a cheat in a way.

It's only for megas since their type change during the battle. For instance mega Charizard X is property of the Phantom Vulcain since when it enters battle it's Fire/Fly so dragon users can't use it then it mega evolves into Fire/Dragon so Flying type users can't use it. But Forretress was always Bug/Steel during the battle
-
With the type limitations, you'll have a team advantaged against the other every time. Then the next time they will be disadvantaged. And sometimes a disadvantage can let you surprise your opponent (I'll never forget this monotype battle where my fire team has been destroyed by an ice team...). For instance people say dark/poison/ice has an advantage over ground/normal/fairy, but a well placed M-Diancie (not even a uber, leaving you your uber slot) could probably wreck their team with it's common build As for ubers, there's always ways to beat them. Creating a team that can kill the opposite uber in case you're own is down is part of the challenge. I guess you'll answer that it means you'll waste slots to face a single opponent, but your opponent will do the same. So the rules are fine to me

U-turn + Arena trap Diglett and M-Gengar gets killed by its own Perish Song. But it's forbidden now anyway :'(

Edit: Tweaked Shiny Pokemon!! (Accepting Suggestions)

I tried to look for an HD version of Mewtwo. If found a way with photoshop to simplify the colors enough to use paint's ink pot, so here's the HD shiny mewtwo : And I also tried a Bisharp. Really dark this one -

Here's Mewtwo's backsprite. Since I used HGSS sprite for the front I also used HGSS for the back but it gives only I part of the pokemon visible. Not sure how it will behave IG, I fear you'll see his back cut at the bottom on the screen. Maybe I should have keep RS' sprite for the back... And I may have an idea for Bisharp, I'll try it later -
With other fields, the field change before the move is done, but the move has the effect of the first field if I'm right. But even that way you'll still have a 4x growth which is already awesome

Thank you That Kingdra is the first shiny I modified. I wanted a Kingdra for my shiny run but I'm not really fond of pink like Reborn's shiny. And if you want a true shiny, be ready to fish a LOT. I think it took me something like 6 hours to get mine. Fortunately I had a boring course at that time x) EDIT : I just finished Noibat's line. Here they are : -

Here's a new shiny Mewtwo. I used HGSS sprite for it, the pose was more adapted. I also learned how to superpose images with photoshop to make the hands by the way x) Is what you expected ? Just noticed it can be quite hard to see with the dark background of the forum. And that the partial transparency I made for the hands don't seem to work with png files :/ -
If you wanna grind, talk to one of the clowns in Agate Circus, near where you can get the powder vial. He has different team (rotating for each battle) of three pokemons lvl 65. Best way to get xp outside of the grand hall. But be careful, his pokemon are really tough, fully EV and IV trained with the best items. Also, a good thing against Ciel is to have some bulky pokemons that can endure a hit of her faster ones and strike back. During my fire mono my fast hitters (Typhlosion, Darmanitan) were completely useless against her, but my bulky Emboar really shined. Last thing, if you consider raising a Mamoswine, you should consider breading it with a Beartic to get Ice Shards/Icicle Crash since Mamoswine learns no good physical ice move naturally.
