Are you sure the field always start at stage 1 ? According to the idea of the field, the starting stage should depend on the environment of the battle. It would be strange for E4, even for Laura (if she comes back), that the field starts at the first stage. In that case we could "easily" (still E4 member) get rid of her before she can set it up

I have a question about this field. Will it always start at stage one or can it start at a more advanced stage ? Since it's about the growth of flowers, if you're surrounded by flowers you could imagine it to start at an advanced level

Me too at first, but now when I look at it it really feels like something external choking the Butterfree. This plus the one around its legs and arm, I really feel it's the pulse mechanism Butterfree is linked to. After all, each pulse was connected differently to their pokemon up to now. Tangrowth had its arm stuck in big bracers (chains, kind of like Butterfree), Muk mainly had junk inside of him plus a damaged bracer around its big arm, Abra had a sort of armor and Swallot had nothing. Different connections, but several looking like chains.

Do you see this gray ring around its neck and legs ? This Butterfree is chained. I really think its a pulse. But as Commander said, things may have changed since this sprite was done

There are no legendaries involved in Reborn exept Arceus. And honestly, if meteors had Darkrai, even more a pulse-boosted Darkrai, would they use it just to put some people to sleep ? Lin would rather use it to turn the entire region to madness with nightmares...

Save files don't disappear themselves. Have you checked your trash can ? Or maybe you can try to look in the properties of your new quick save for previous versions of the file. But I don't think it's a bug related to the game itself. Maybe a virus ?

The accuracy of moves makes the battle random. Paralysis, burn and freeze too. And critical hits. Random is an important part of the game. As I said, they are low level so not the best for xp. But if you intend do to EV training later you'll have to do it there (the fastest place for speed), so it's not lost

Another interesting place for training is under Opal bridge. You'll only find low level Noibat and Woobat so it's not the best for xp, but it also does EV training for speed at the same time which can be useful

Well, if I remember correctly the level of the first gym has been reduced in E15 to avoid overleveling problems for the second gym. People used to train up to the level cap to fight Julia, then had to use common candies before Florinia because they earned to much xp. And the first gym is supposed to be a simple training, Florinia should be harder (even though a team filled with bugs and poison types should help). If you're interested in the hardcore mod, it should be somewhere in the forum, I don't remember which section. But you better try the second gym before switching to hard mode, because the hardcore worth it's name (or maybe it's because I did it with a mono dragon with just a Deino and a Noibat the beginning...)

If you're really masochistic, maybe you can try the hardcore mod About the mechanics, it's gen 6 mechanics, so you can increase the happiness of your Budew by walking, it's just really long. And yes, try to keep your pokemons at least one level under the limit, otherwise they may reach lvl 21 during the battle and it's a very good way to lose a pokemon. Where are you in the story ? Have you met a girl named Florinia ? If no, maybe you can do this : (It's not really a spoiler, but if you want to go really blind...)
