Jan, just make the video game you wanna make. We'll be happy either way. Also this game is really fucking good. Also the fact that we get a status update at least once every month is really good so its appreicated that you do it.

I'll comment on the few starters that I have tried or feel safe talking about. Venusaur I don't see why you would pick for your starter ever considering you get it at the same time you get Torkoal which is pretty early in the game. Charizard seems really good when you build around it. -- For Typhlosion see Charizard. If you want to use Feraligatr, get it when you can surf. I'm not sure its worth your time before then but I also haven't tried it so... Meganium is cool I have a friend who absolutely loves this thing you can make it work if you want to pick it up and while you can pick it up as soon as you get 5 badges, you will still get a lot of value out of it before those 5 badges. -- I haven't tried Sceptile but another thing thats worth noting is I believe that thing gets Nature Power. It seems like a fun mon to make a run with. Also makes as a good starter choice considering you can't get it in the game atm aside from it being a starter. -- Torterra getting EQ early is super cool but you also get swinub after the gym you would get a Torterra in. If ur using it just to spam earthquake I feel like it just gets replaced by Mamoswine. If you want to use this thing because of its Crest I don't see why you would pick it up as a starter, it would just be better to get it when you would normally get it in the game. Either way I bet you could make it work for sure. Empoleon actually seems legit there's a lot of intimidate in the game and I'm sure there are a lot of ways to proc defiant. You can also pick it up when you get Route 11 access which is actually pretty early -- Hot Take: Serperior isn't a fun mon to use. Samurott is not something I can recomend. I dropped it just before val or after val and never used it again. -- GC didn't talk about Incineroar, but let me remind you that this thing is beyond busted in gen 7. It may get overshadowed by Blaziken because most pokemon players who visit this website play singles. You can get it pre-crawli (I think thats when you get the Dull Key) but when I used it, I got a ton of value out of it before you could pick it up normally. Incineroar is super good especially since Rejuv has a lot of double battles. It's not even that bad in singles too because its really bulky. I used it and I loved it, it put out a ton of value throughout the whole game and its actually one of the few mons I think I wanted to bring with me to mostly every fight. Primarina is actually next on my wish to try. -- Gen 8 starters aren't in the game, BUT I honestly think all of them including intelleon have potential to be really good.

If you're looking for a ground type, it seems like you missed it but earlier you had the chance to get swinub while you were at blacksteeple. Though honestly, I was using Dugtrio more often then Swinub/Piloswine. I would pick up a Torkoal. You can get one somewhere in the Safari Zone by smashing rocks tho its a 6% chance so save before smashing the rocks. Also I believe one of the rewards for the help quest is a Bulbasaur egg. That is in general a really good mon to pair with Torkoal. You should have picked up a dull key in the battleship. If you go back to the bridge where you were given rock smash, look around and I believe you'll find a Litten. Get intimidate on that thing. You can find Foongus but in the jungle but I wouldn't recomend evolving that thing till it learns rage powder at 45 and spore at 50. Rage Powder got me through so much shit. But Incineroar + the Shadow Cacnea you should have picked up if you caught all of the shadow mons (this thing was good for gyms water - ice because its sucker punch hit unreasonably hard for some reason), Torkoal + Venusaur + Lycanroc and something else should be good enough for Crawli and having Incineroar Torkoal Venusaur and Amoongus in your PC should help a lot for the double battles to come. I read like the last 2 pages and saw things about balance. Isn't most of the major fights in this game mostly doubles? Like it feels like its mostly doubles > singles and mons like gyarados/volcarona don't do as well in that environment no?

As expected my top 3 were the characters i submitted in the popularity poll (that or I submitted venam instead of aeltia maybe? I don't remember I feel like I submitted venam but i don't remember /shrug) Saki is just the best. Aelita always gives me the warm fuzzy feelings when I am playing the game and they show up. Its always like "wow thats my friend i wish i had friends like her she's great" and then Reina would probably be Melia if this was a bit ago but I've warmed up to Reina a lot they're actually like rly cool. Also their scenes with Huey are great I love them.

Xp Share all on in this game actually feels really good in this game due to mons not being able to go above level cap. Playing through the game is fine but its not going to do the trick from getting a mon from 1 to level cap in a timely fashion. Thats where XP candies come in.
