  1. Talk about outdated memes... What makes you happy on a daily basis? What kind of present would you give to a person you dislike? Was there a decision you didn't agree with, but said nothing not to come to bad terms with others? Dilemma no1 Dilemma no2
  2. "There are no new mega evolutions". Nope. Stop reading after this point.
  3. Since all the others use their legs as well, Team Skull is actually forming a squid.
  4. GF has delved into Darwinian evolution when they introduced Gen5 with pokemon similar to others from earlier generaton, similar enough to keep a link of a common ancestor, yet different enough to be their own species. Notable examples are Bouffalant and Tauros, Alomomola and Luvdisk. That is where the concept of adaptation for survival is highlighted and actually makes sense, since this normally takes millions of years to happen. Different formes hint more towards human intervention, pretty much like what we've done with the many dog breeds, while still keeping them at the same species so their descendants can reproduce. Like Rotom, which takes a new form based on the appliance it 'haunts', these creatures might have gone through a similar procedure, by human breeding to produce the most suitable companions that either keep company, or are good house guardians or produce food more efficiently. That argument could also be made about the Kanto formes, as evolution works at the same time in both areas, Alola and Kanto, so in the case of Exeggutor, the Kanto forme could be the one bred by humans (or adapted at the same time to survive), without going too far away from its origins. Drastic changes like the Sandshrew line, I cannot explain, because it does not keep a common trait besides the appearance for it to be justified. I believe it would be much better if they just introduced a new pokemon there. I mean, I can find ways to connect ghost/fire for the Kanto Marowak, but as for the Alolan one, my hands are tied.
  5. The signature moves are broken. A Rock-Type Hydro Pump that can also flinch, and an unblockable Rapid Spin that hits harder with stacking hazards plus STAB are going to destroy any balance OU has. Certainly the offensive stats of the Steel bird are trash, but Lightningrod and Steel/Flying make it extremely hard to kill, as you reduce its weaknesses to only Fire. So I recommend changing the ability into something not that usable like Inner Focus, or changing the type into something not overpowered like Ice or Electric, since an immunity is always a big deal for a pokemon with that big stats. If you still want to keep both Lightningrod and Steel/Flying, remove Roost. Now, if you decide to drop their base stats to 530, I suggest the following changes 1. Atk->100, SpA ->120, Def->70 [it has a bad typing overall, so good speed and offensive stats should be allowed, just not OP] 2. Def->90 [very good typing but needs to be more killable since it can deal with its weaknesses pretty easily] 3. Atk->70, SpA->80, SpD->150, Spe->100
  6. That's a detective pokemon, that also has a CEO or politician theme. If they were aiming for the latter, then making it a weasel was a very clever move.
  7. Ironically I just came to post the exact same thing. Even they went overboard, in some cases way too much. I found out this article was made from one member and it's not overseen by the council unlike those that make it to the Smog Magazine. The idea of Eeveelutions having megas is dumb either way You know, I'd try that Stoutland if you gave 10 from speed into special attack and make it more balanced.
  8. The game makes backups every time you save. Type "Game.Rxdata" in your computer's search bar, and then right click on it. There must be a command that says go to where the file is stored. There you'll see many backups of your saves. Pick one that's good enough and rename it "Game.rxdata" and replace the original game.rxdata with it. That should do the trick.
  9. I found this but don't know how recent it is Better use the site http://www.smogon.com/stats/2014-11/ubers-1630.txt The pokemon used reveal how it still remains a banlist. Pokemon from lower tiers that receive high usage percentages are support and niche mons from OU and below, that get little usage in their respective tiers. This shows that Ubers is a completely different place and not a balanced tier like OU or UU. One could make a counter-argument on RU and the regeneration stall it offered, but at least there weren't so many broken things all together. Edit: I also have the viability rankings http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/oras-ubers-viability-ranking-thread-last-updated-post-1049.3535106/
  10. There is a Feebas by the river...
  11. Ubers was created so those broken mons could still be used in a form of competitive play. Even now, it's just filled with all things broken for OU. It is just getting somewhat balanced in terms of power and M-Rayquaza managed to break it more than P-Groudon does, so it resides alone in AG. You still won't take the tier into consideration when doing a suspect test on a pokemon for OU, and apparently Smogon makes sure to emphasize on this when performing those suspects.
  12. Let's hope they don't go for broken megas, unlike here.

  14. Ubers is just a banlist, so an intermediate tier is highly unlikely. However, UU is a completely different case. As it stands now, it has been divided into "High UU" and "Low UU" with certain pokemon in HUU ultimately getting the ban into BL, which hinders the game, as they are deemed too good to stay in their tier, yet without good reason to be frequently used in the above tier, being doomed to be seldom seen in competitive play. The issue is not about their general abilities, but the players' tendancy not to explore the BL or lower tiers for pokemon to be used in OU. The best example is Klefki which was in BL from the start of XY till now that some people started experimenting with it enough to bring it to 3.41% usage and up to OU. Now you see it in every third team, so it wasn't really that bad. However, not any pokemon can be given the same treatment, and usually the ones that receive bans after suspect tests are the ones people tend to forget. So, goodbye Salamence from competitive play. OU is not your place, since stronger beasts can perform better in your every role, but in UU (or better said.... Low UU) they can't cope with your unpredictability. While the same cannot be said about Zam, because it's a beast for any tier, other mons like M-Houndoom, Kingdra, Togekiss and Victini are already forgotten in the eyes of the players, because of the graveyard called BL and BL2. Unless Smogon tries to divide the two into separate tiers to encourage the usage of more pokemon, I doubt they will see more usage in the near future. Let's hope Gen7 brings more gems to use and balance the lower tiers, because frankly speaking OU is where the most plays are made, hence the most balanced tier both in archetypes/playstyles but also threatlists and synergy potential.
  15. Is M-Pidgey worth building around, or should I go straight to Tornadus-Therian?

      It'd be better in UU, but... there's a reason it's BL ;-;

The best reason to use Mega pidgeot is the work up Roost refresh hurricane bulky set imo. That stuff is dangerous.

  16. Welcome to the latest addition of... "The F* Zard Am I?" Today we snatch the victory from a person who thought that his last minute switch would save him. I can only imagine his facial expression when he saw Dragon Dance on a M-Zard-Y Enjoy http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-415632291
  17. Tangrowth had already been used a lot in high-level play which has stall everywhere, so it's nice to see it in OU, even if it will last only 1, maybe 2 months. I still don't understand why they keep increasing the BL, unless they wish to make it the new UU. Zam is there, Mence now too. Hera got more usage, which hinders those of us who actually use it since early ORAS, but the meta will keep changing till the new generation, as stall comes and goes through the higher tiers.
  18. About Gen7: As Ame already said, new pokemon might not be that bad after all. Several areas seem cramped with pokemon while others have few new species to capture which in turn makes them look somewhat empty. Certain areas could be improved pokemon-wise and some gen7 monsters could make good use of the field effects without being broken for them. The different levels of Citrine and Ametrine mountains could have different pokemon residing in them, as the environment changes as you move towards the top. What bugs me a bit is how Celestinine and Ametrine look similar, almost like being the same mountain, but Citrine (which is a lot shorter and has much less to do in it) appears quite different in colors and even structure. I think that if there were a couple of crystal areas inside one of those mountains it would make them more unique and of course more likely to host different creatures like the corals and sea cucumbers (even though technically there is no salt water in Reborn). An Icy Vulpix could even make a nice event pokemon in Ametrine city, which also happens to be a place easily forgettable after we beat Blake. I know the development team is buzy to finish the refurbished Reborn city, and the story ink is dry, but the involvement of new species might be just what some areas need to make them relevant again, and add a bit of 'replay' or 'revisiting' value to them. Notable examples are Spinel Town, Ametrine City, Route 3 caves and the Wasteland, which is the big loser in development with the Mudkip event and meme gone, the chasing around Mismagius vanishing and Beldum soon to be axed as well, instead of being given an alternative (Rock Climb?) route to access its location. A fire salamander here, a frozen Pangolin there, and a couple of birds in certain spots could do just fine. Just a question: How come we didn't get to interact with a Tentacool while in the WTC?
  19. All I wanted were new pokemon and more megas. I'm happy to see some Gen1 pokemon receive some love, but this means they get no megas, so I do not expect too much from them. After all they are simply formes, which means a re-distribution of their stats and no boosts to them. Thick Club Ghost/Fire seems neat. The prospect of an Ice type Sand Rush seems much better though. You still have till November. As for Raichu, I'd like you to consider the damage an electric terrain + surfer + volt tackle would do. #opnerfplz Team Skull seems disappointing. No serious leader or grunts. Just thugs that use imported pokemon with limited potential. Their type theme seems to be Poison this far, yet anyone to use Ariados and keep it after Florinia does not deserve to represent the local evil team. So unless that Golbat is holding an Eviolite, I cannot take those pests seriously. Edit: Why are you calling it similar to Stance Change? It's more like Zen Mode (you know, that other ability Darmanitan has..)
  20. UU - 2 more tested teams OU - Some of my very early teams - possibly outdated I hope they are good enough
