  1. Diggersby, yo. Dig even synergizes with Boomburst.
  2. Every gym leader is easy when you have BLAZIKEN. (Actually not true, but Blaziken single-handedly takes on most gym leaders, sometimes requiring just a little bit of help.)
  3. When a man and a woman love each other very much,
  4. I have never run any more than 2 team members plus HM slaves. That might change in a future episode, though.
  5. I know, right, what a sheep. All people who think that Smogon's tiers are created through a rigorous process, myself included, are idiot automatons. shofu just doesn't think outside the box. Either that or he's adhering to some code of scrubbery that prevents him from using strategies that he considers cheap.
  6. Grinding does "take too long." It's all relative.
  7. Is Serra's field effect going to be implemented in 14.5, or is that held off till 15?
  8. I finished this a few days ago, might as well cap it off here as well.
  9. The LP is actually almost done, I just never posted it here when I first started because I figured that interest would be non-existent. It's an old game in a relatively niche series that was never released in the west, I was playing the game in its native Japanese, plus I was skipping cutscenes if at all possible and playing the game really quickly. It's something that's accessible if you've played Fire Emblem at all, but if you haven't, well, you are probably going to be lost. Mekkah and I tried to maximize clarity and conciseness in the commentary, but we can only do so much.
  10. Hi everyone, Ame's Starlight Divide thread in the Development Blog sub-forum reminded me that users here may like turn-based strategy RPGs. I have an ongoing let's play (actually almost finished) of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade that may interest those users. Here's an introduction to the series: Here's the playlist containing a video for every chapter: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPtcK2f-aIoT9WbxLMRByDhQjGVLxqz9e Currently chapters 1 through 24 are finished. Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade is the 6th game in the Fire Emblem series. It was released exclusively in Japan, but there is a high-quality translation patch recently released by a team on the Fire Emblem fansite, Serenes Forest. In Fire Emblem, units have growth rates corresponding to each of their stats that confer a chance for that stat to increase upon leveling up. In this let's play, I edited all of the playable units' growth rates to 0%.
  11. I find that the optimal number of Pokemon to go with in this game is 2.
  12. Can't you just evolve Braixen? It learns Psyshock at L34 and Delphox has psychic STAB. I don't remember what the level cap is at this point in the game, but if it's L35, Common Candy it down so it obeys you again.
  13. People here are immature and snicker uncontrollably at the mention of mild sexual innuendos.
  14. Sableye can't learn Will-o-Wisp by level up or egg and the TM is thus far unobtainable.
  15. Azumarill is going to be banished in the next episode. That's unfortunate, it's really fun to play with.
  16. None of which are available at the moment. Ice Beam is still missing, Dark Pulse is widely considered to not be a good choice on Greninja, and Delphox can also learn Grass Knot. Greninja is purely offensive but Delphox has solid offensive stats and good defensive moves. Delphox has considerably more spatk and Greninja's spd advantage largely doesn't matter because it's in-game, while Delphox gets both Light Screen and Will-o-Wisp by level up as excellent support options. This is ignoring Fennekin's great earlygame with type advantages against crucial gyms and recurrent rival battles.
  17. Saying that something is broken with the caveat of "if used correctly" is directly at odds with the definition of "broken," lol.
  18. How is using Froakie any more useful than using either of the other starters when it comes to familiarizing oneself with gen 6? It's just one Pokemon. Both of the other options are very solid in-game; Fennekin has good dual STABs and good defensive options in WoW and Light Screen and Chespin has Leech Seed and Bulk Up. The best part about both of them is that neither has to be bred and taught moves not obtainable until the halfway point in the game in order to be "broken" (Froakie cannot even learn Ice Beam anymore without reverting to old mechanics). Froakie is so overrated; people see how good it is in competitive play and are charmed by Protean, but they conveniently forget that it's pretty bad for the first 8 badges of the game or so. I see this commonly here - everyone cares about the final destination, no one cares about the journey to get there.
  19. Lead with Meowstic-M, set up Light Screen, sac Meowstic-M. Actually the lower-leveled it is the better, you want it to get OHKO'd by Shade's Gengar so that Light Screen stays out in case Swoobat needs to heal during setup. Send in Swoobat, Calm Mind thrice, Psychic sweep. I think Swoobat can expect to be faster than Gengar as well, so he gets to Calm Mind before each of Gengar's attacks. Doublade resists both of Swoobat's STABs but its special bulk is pretty bad.
  20. Froakie is honestly a pretty mediocre starter Pokemon in this game.
  21. Someone who claims that his playstyle requires "more strategy then [sic] the way all of you are claiming the game should be played" can't strategize his way out of Pokemon leveling up in the middle of a battle. All the hipster chicks want to sleep with me and I brag about it on an internet forum.
  22. Oooh! I have a solution that might work for you. How about reducing your Pokemon to two levels below the level cap? Man, I really had to mine my sulci for that one.
  23. Run Fake Out over Dark Pulse on Meowstic. Meowstic-M plays a support role and Fake Out gets you an advantage on the first turn of double battles. I'm not sure if Misty Terrain instantly overwrites existing terrain, but if that's the case, it's a great option on Meowstic-M.
  24. Azumarill is only 12th in OU usage. Competitive usage doesn't translate very well to in-game power - Skarmory is 9th in OU usage but it would be lackluster in-game. A bigger problem for Azumarill is that it's fully evolved by L18 and it gets Aqua Tail at L21 and Play Rough at L25. That's insane - you have a bulky Pokemon with one of the highest atk stats in the game with its 2 preferred STAB moves at a level that can be achieved before the second gym.
  25. Kiki is still a single battle and there's no way that Blaziken can solo Arceus. But I can tell you that Blaziken also solos: - Julia - Cal - ZEL - every Victoria battle - every Bennett battle - every Taka battle - every Cain battle except the one with the swamp field that's not supposed to be there - Shelly (as much as a double battle can be soloed) - Serra mostly (something needs to break Cloyster's Focus Sash) - Samson mostly (needs Intimidate support) and I'm still probably missing a couple. So where are the "lot of Pokemon who can do Blaziken's job?"
