  1. Wonder guard. I have more than just, y'know, 1HP, and since according to the pokemon test I'm a poison type, as long as I keep my distance with mentalists and miners I should be pretty much indestructible. Reallistically tho, I would probably like to have cloud nine. I mean I love summer but the heat kills me. Why not enjoy the sun cancelling all other effects of the summer weather, including heat? EXACTLY.
  2. I used to think hoothoot had 2 feet until I saw its official art and then convinced myself that it only had 1. Then through the anime I learned it actually has 2 feet like I thought. I used to think chinchou had 4 fins, but 2 of them are actually feet. Yeah I don't know why but that's how it is. I used to think quagsire really had like a dark blue "hotdog"-shaped tail, but turns out the part in the middle is the continuation of its dorsal fin. I used to think dunsparce's mouth was in the lower part of its face and thus wasn't visible in its official art, but apparently: its mouth is between the yellow and blue halves of its head. That looks so weird to me even to this day. I just realised (I'm looking at the bulbapedia pokedex to see if I'm forgetting something) that nuzleaf has nipples. Well then. I used to think duskull had 2 red eyes, but turns out is just 1 red sphere floating inside its skull. I used to think overcast cherrim was blind because its head was covered by petals, but turns out it has eyes here: just right next to its legs. I still don't know how the head of the sunshine form works. I used to think hoopa unbound (when it was still a rumor) had only one eye akin to dusknoir, and no visible mouth, but nope, it has 2 eyes.

  5. I have already said this in private but considering how much it took me to actually find the topic before I realised I could just go to your profile and search there... Yeah. My respects to your grandpa, may he rest in peace.
  6. I've seen lots of memes about zubats in caves, but never really played canon games. As people who have played those, would you say they are really that abundant?

    1. Azeria

      Azeria

In all honesty, not really. It's just that they're the common encounter in every fucking cave in the game.

      Crobat's worth it though.

    2. Ironbound

      Ironbound

Yes. Main series games love bats. Be they of the zu-, woo-, or noi- variety.

    3. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

Yes, they were fucking everywhere up until gen 5 when Woobat and later Noibat were introed.

The memes would've made no sense otherwise...

  7. Is this the thread where a magical sand witch tells you what your voice sounds like? I want to sign up
  8. I have a thick hoody that I make sure to wear as much as possible in winter. It's white with thin purple and black strips, and for some reason I find its color combination hypnotic. It is also reversible, meaning I can wear the inside of it (which is black and purple) as the outside, and sometimes people think they're 2 different hoodies, another reason why I love it, since it saves me time when I'm too lazy to actually pick, you know, different clothes to wear. This hoody's special feature tho, is that on the right side pocket, it has a hole. A BIG hole, but that it is hardly noticeable from other people's perspectives because of its position. This hole is not the typical hole, that you just put money inside your pocket, it gets through the hole, falls to the ground and you lose your money forever. Nope. This hole is connected to the inner side of my hoody, a wide hollow space that for some reason exists between the outside fabric and the inside fabric. I don't know how this hole came to be, since I'm usually careful with my clothes. And you might be thinking "what about it?". Well, my hole arm fits inside this hole. I basically have storage room to fit papers, my wallet, my phone, my calculator, pencils, one or two shirts, any kind of bullshit that can fit through the hole to begin with, I can store within my hoody. When I have to walk through a dangerous street, the kind of street where you get robbed at, I put my cellphone inside the hole, and it is basically unfindable and unnoticeable. If I need to carry something but I don't want to hold it in my hands, to the hoody it goes. If I have to carry too many things to hold, half of them will fit inside the hole. In quite a few situations, having the right thing inside this hole at the right time has been incredibly helpful, and thus I have a big soft spot for this hoody. My mother disapproves of me wearing it because "I look like a hobo" with it, and my friends insist on me sewing the hole up or at least letting them do so. The answer is "no" lol. TL;DR - My hoody is old and broken but it's mine and I like it.

  10. Lol, that one is indeed broken af, but it sounds super fun. Specially because it affects all pokemon in the field at once apparently. You can pair it with a choice scarf, draco meteor hydreigon or a close combat mega lucario (since this gira is a primal), and basically be unstoppable for those 5 turns. And giratina itself can spam draco meteor. And hoopa unbound could get defense boosts from hyperspace fury. Dragon ascent would make mega rayquaza bulkier. Truly broken, but fun. There should be a pokemon fangame called pokemon broken, and have most of these abilities be included.
  11. I will read the pages I haven't been through when I have time. For the time being, if I or someone else brings up an ability that was already mentioned with the same effect or the same name, I would rather preffer it to be ignored. EDIT: the same I would like to apply in the case that at some point I repeat an ability of mine twice in different posts. I will try to ensure it doesn't happen, like the above, but if it happens I really don't see a major problem with it other than ignoring it.
  12. I can't do anything about it, I haven't read the whole thread yet lol. Anyways: Fixation: the pokémon's stats cannot be lowered nor raised, not even by itself. A seemingly useless ability, but give it to a mon with close combat or a similar move and you have a rather interesting attacker. Mold breaker bypasses this ability. Moves like nasty plot used by the user fail. Moves like fake tears or acupressure used by an ally fail. However, the user can be baton passed stat boosts by an ally. Determination: protect's the user from Sp.Def lowering attacks. The user cannot have its special defense lowered. Burn heal: restores HP if the pokémon is burned. Same as poison heal, but with a flame orb.
  13. You also gave your primal palkia pretty much the same ability I gave my mega palkia, 5 turns of gravity upon switching in lol. Kudos for mind sync. The idea was effectively to have STAB hydro pump never miss because of auto-gravity, but making protecting moves and substitute fail....maybe a bit too much? I am the first guy to fail for the "it has to make sense even if it is broken" philosophy when making abilities, but I would rather have the move spatial rend modified so that it could hit regardless of protection or substitute instead than having palkia ignore these with EVERY move it uses. I wouldn't have a problem with dialga ignoring recharge turn of moves if it wasn't because roar of time is a STAB,150 base power move coming from a 150 base attack (which would probably be as high as 180 or more if we account we're talking about its primal form). You basically have 8 shots of a move that can OHKO everything dialga gets in front of him except for fairies, which are immune, but oh! dialga is also a steel type! so one STAB flash cannon and every fairy is dead too. I deem this among the same levels of brokeness as mega groudon's. I'm not saying it isn't cool (no recharge roar of time is cool as fuck), but I think instant trick room is enough for mega dialga as it is, at least personally. Anyways, enough about discussing that, is not like my abilities are any less broken so I'm in no place to judge lol. Have some: -Flytrap: draws in all bug-type moves to boost the attack stat. A cool ability for mons like victreebel and carnivine, that are based off carnivore plants, known for luring and/or attracting bugs with their sugary juices or aromas. Specially for carnivine, who is weak to bug types and also a physical attacker, having a weakness removed and its Attack boosted seems nice. Pair it with a hoopa unbound or a malamar in doubles and you have a fearsome companion at your disposal. -Nocturnal: the pokemon is not scared of the dark. Makes the user immune to dark type attacks, but gaining no effect whatsoever from it (currently). It's just... immune to the dark. -Pollinate: normal type moves become bug type moves. Like aerilate, turns return to the bug type and gives it a 30% boost in top of other modifiers.
  14. Inner focus mega gallade wants a word with you lol I kinda like Viri's temporal shift for primal dialga because it is pretty much the same ability I gave my mega dialga, for an instant trick room. Except the effect on the recharge moves. Mirror Scale is cool too. Someone thinks of mega milotic when they hear that?
  15. I think I know (it's pretty obvious), but the instructions say I'm not allowed to reveal other cards. There aren't many left Tomas, you can do it.
  16. Lol dont worry about it, I myself am lazy and usually take billions of years to reply to PMs, if I actually see them in time. I plan on catching up with you when I actually get get to read that manga you mentioned, but that will have to be in summer.
  17. A status update told me to come here, so what happens now? EDIT: ok according to the OP I have to guess which card I am? that's gonna take a while lol

Garbage teams are gimmicky but fun :)

    4. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Water/Fairy would be an interesting type on a more defensive mon... espically with either Sap Sipper or something like Lightning Rod. It's got a lot of Key Resists and it's weaknesses are pretty uncommon attack types at that point ((Poison and Elec for Azu's situation.))

I can see the 1st being possible because mega absol and insomnia honchkrow exist, but the second I'm having a harder time debating with myself if it would be broken, or let alone make sense.

  22. Moltres. Zapdos' design sucks, and while I like Articuno, Moltres is the best looking IMO. Suicune. Compared to the other 2, this is the only one I actually find appealing design-wise. It is probably the most useful, too. Ho-ho is ugly as fuck. Never liked its design, but I actually like it better than Lugia competitively wise. Still, it is ugly, Lugia it is. Kyogre. Never cared too much about any of these 3, but since they pretty much broke the other two beyond repair, this is the one I like the most nowadays. Regigigas. I like all the regis, but Regigigas is the coolest looking period. All 4 of them suck but I love them. Giratina. I like these 4, but they did it great with Giratina design-wise, better than with any of the other 3. Mesprit. It is the cutest, and can take hits and be an useful attacker all in one, unlike SOME other two ugly pixies... Latias. Like mesprit, can be bulky and an useful attacker all in one, unlike Latios. Cresselia and Darkrai are a tie. I love cresselia with trick room, calm mind and such, but I also love darkrai with dark void and nasty plot. They are both great designs. Reshiram. These 3 and their fusions are the most overdesigned pieces of crap to date. Out of the 3, Reshiram is the most simple and one I can like. These 3 are boring, copypastes of one another and ugly. The only one I like is landorus and only because of how it has helped me in competitive. Thornadus' prankster can go die for all I care. Similar to the 3 above, these are ugly and uninteresting to me. Keldeo is my fav because specs hydro pump, but it isn't less ugly. Coballion has a pass for swords dance and iron head. Yveltal. Xerneas is cool, but geomancy is disgusting. Zygarde is not as powerful as it should be.Thus, the death bird it is for me. I like all the tiny legendaries, but I have a fondness for Jirachi (serene grace iron head is evil and I like it) and specially for Diancie, and its magnificient mega. Heatran. Volcanion has a cool typing, but it is ugly. Heatran is also ugly, but it has had more time to grow on me. I like all 3 of these genetic/alien/robot ones lol. My vote goes to Deoxys because whatever.
  23. On a scale of 1 to 10, how broken would a dark/dragon with 50 base SpA, the ability contrary and access to draco meteor and overheat be in the current metagame?

    2. Nova

      Nova

Dark/Dragon is of course weak as hell to Fairies, and 454 BST means you won't have much bulk. Even with boosts from Contrary, you probably can't kill any bulky Fairies even if the mon were to get Sludge Bomb, so I'd say it won't be broken at all.

    3. Nova

      Nova

      +2 252 SpA Not Hydreigon Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Florges: 156-184 (43.3 - 51.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Yeah... That won't be broken anytime soon.

    4. zimvader42

      zimvader42

The mon actually does get sludge bomb lol.

The point of it was "how to make contrary draco meteor RU", besides "weakest fully evolved dragon".

Bulk is 73-83-103, so I guess its a safe check for grass and steel types in low tiers?

  24. Gourgeist. People might not really ever associate me with this thing, mainly because I don't usually talk about it and cuz I only have 1 avatar with it, but it is my fav pokemon and my "signature mon" alrigth. In any fangame where the thing is actually available, it is GUARANTEED to be a main part of my team for the whole game no matter what. That includes reborn, reju, gaia, insurgence, and basically every game that has it. It is also super duper useful in game! against an AI gourgeist is THE ghost type. Leech seed, will-o-wisp, shadow sneak, destiny bond, phantom force, seed bomb, even goddamn flamethrower although it's SpA is garbage for arceus' sake.... if it is included in its various sizes all the better, because I love the XL one the best, and I'll gladly spend hours if needed to find one. The bigger pumpkin the better! I also use it in showdown from time to time if I just want to have fun with a team, but since I suck at teambuilding I haven't been able to make a team revolving around gourgeist yet.
