  1. I ended up using the Focus Sash again . . . On Garchomp . . . http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13680entry309000 I might go back and try to figure out a better way to defeat him, but this worked very well and didn't require me to break my "No Items in Battle" rule, so . . . My thought was to breed my FEAR Rattata (male) with a Donphan (female) to make a Donphan with both Endeavor AND Sturdy. That would negate any need for the Focus Sash . . .
  2. I made a standard FEAR Rattata (lvl 34) to take care of Garchomp. You need to use a Yamask/Cofagrigus first to apply Mummy to get rid of Rough Skin or it won't work at all . . . You also need to get lucky that Garchomp uses a contact move (AKA, not Earthquake) to kill Yamask/Cofagrigus, but this isn't that unlikely . . . He has 3 Full Restores IIRC, so just use Endeavour 4 times until he runs out. It has 5 PP by default so this will work. Use Sucker Punch once he is out of Full Restores. This still didn't quite kill Garchomp for me though because of his Leftovers. I then switched to my Intimidate Pokemon (Luxray; lvl 41) and attempted to paralyze him with Spark but was unsuccessful. After two tries, Luxary was gone . . . I then switched to my Sturdy Magneton (lvl 39) and spammed Flash Cannon. Lucky, he missed one attack, which gave me the opportunity to win! This method did not require me to: 1. Use any healing items in battle. 2. Level any pokemon over the cap (lvl 45) to get additional moves. 3. Breed or EV-train at all . . . 4. Plough through a very long and boring battle. This was only about 10-12 turns.
  3. Well, I had a Scraggy for Shade. It wasn't Jolly (IDK its nature at the moment), and I used an Ability Capsule to switch its ability to Moxie. I found the key in the Underground Railnet before I fought Shade, and I looked up what it went to on the forum. I beat the Pangoros with Emolga's Acrobatics and some support from the rest of the team . . . I had to restart a few times due to Circle Throw messing with me . . . Also, you aren't level-capped at 35 at that point. You are level-capped at 40. I know this because my Emolga was level 37. I got decent IVs on Scraggy on my first try and went with it because I didn't know you could Quick-Save during the dialog . . . I got it to level 35 and put a Chesto Berry on it so it wouldn't get hypnotized by Gengar. It swept Shade's first 4(!) Pokemon (Gengar, Gollet, Doublade, and Chandelure) with Feint Attack and Payback before finally dying to Gourgeist. The rest of my team cleaned up Gourgeist and Rotom. I did my grinding Beneath the Grand Staircase against the Unown, since Scraggy can kill them pretty easily even at a low level. I don't use Healing Items in Battle as a self-imposed challenge, so I generally do have to grind a bit more than most . . . I lost to Shade about 15-20 times (Got VERY close several times; This was the hardest fight for me since Florina!) until I tried using a Focus Sash so I could get one more hit on Chandelure. That worked, but I didn't want to waste the Focus Sash, so I went back and did more grinding to get Scraggy up from 31 to 35 so it could consistently OHKO Gengar with Payback. I only spent maybe 1.5 to 2 hours grinding Scraggy. I did it while I was watching TV . . . I'm just saying you don't need Scraggy to be Speed-EV trained or Jolly for it to be useful against Shade. Payback works just fine! You do need it to be near level 35 though . . .
  4. I made a Mac Sound Fix Pack for Rejuvenation here: http://wikisend.com/download/309112/Mac Sound Fix.zip Replace the files with the same names with these, and they should work. Let me know if anyone runs into any other problematic sound files. I'm pretty early in the game . . .
  5. I finally beat Shade without the Focus Sash! Thanks!
  6. Shade . . . -_-

  7. So, I've found one Focus Sash so far (Under the Grand Staircase), but I used it against Shade . . . I read somewhere that I could purchase Focus Bands at the Department Store on Floor 3, but I can access Floor 4 and I can't find them . . . Have the Focus Bands been moved to a higher floor? Are there any more Focus Bands/Sashes in the game? Thanks!
  8. Well, Snivy moves too, so I guess I didn't get the reference . . . :/ Also, he doesn't follow you around. He just runs around like crazy . . .
  9. Why? It just seems inconsistent . . . :/
  10. I found a few minor glitches/typos/issues. I orginally posted them here, but I'm not sure if anyone saw it . . . http://www.pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=8659952&postcount=73
  11. End of Line . . .

  12. Thanks for the confirmation. I was a bit concerned about permissions issues, but it seems to be working just fine for me too!
  13. I agree with getting rid of Vulpix because of Drought, but, when you do, could you please replace it with another fire-type? There aren't that many fire-types available in the early game, which is Grass-heavy, if you don't pick a fire starter (Litleo, Pansear, and Growlithe when you save the police). If I'm missing any pre-third gym, please let me know. I just don't like the idea of having to rely on Kicketune and Vespiquen any more than I already had too. . . . And please not another electric-type . . . I already have Pichu, Luxio, Flaaffy, Emolga, and Manectric before the third gym . . .
  14. Can confirm. Just went and got it myself. Also interested in learning how to "unstuck" myself . . .
  15. It might work in Wine . . .
  16. FYI, my Mac Sound Fix has been incorporated into 14.6, so it is no longer necessary for that version and above (in the future).
  17. Thank you everyone! I got it to work now. Yes, you have to rescue all the policemen BEFORE you fight Zel and Taka. I think you might have to pick up the Growlithe too because after you do if you talk to the Chief again, he says, "The Reborn Police are now fully operational," or something like that . . . You'll know you've done it right because an extra scene with the police occurs right after the battle . . .
  18. I mean, I'm doing it immediately afterward (like before I've even set foot in Corey's gym but after the cutscene has finished), and it's not working. I guess you have to do it before you beat Taka and ZEL. That makes sense in the plot, so . . . Thanks!
  19. So, I'm trying to get Corey to use the Corrosive Mist Field Effect instead of the Corrosive Field Effect, and I read it had something to do with whether or not you rescued all the policemen before you face him. So, I did that, but he's still using the Corrupted Field Effect . . . Do you have to rescue all the policeman BEFORE you beat ZEL and Taka in that last double battle for it to work properly? I have plenty of backup saves, so I can just go back to before I beat ZEL and Taka, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something else. I'm using 14.5, but I also tested it in 14.1 and no dice. Still the Corrupted Field Effect . . . Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  20. End of Line . . .

  21. corrosive mist field

  22. You don't have to if you use my Mac Sound Fix. Just put the files into the indicated folders and overwrite the old ones: http://wikisend.com/...c Sound Fix.zip
