  1. Edge you old troll, happy birthday. I haven't interacted with you all that much in my time here, but the interaction that I've had is definitely stuff that I've enjoyed.
  2. Vinny's 20th birthday huh? How time flies. There are so many things I want to ask you because we haven't talked in too long but I'll save that for a more convenient space. Just for this occasion I've hired out a time machine so strap in buddy.
  3. Robin Hood should help a fair bit due to the ubiquity of saber class opponents and the relative scarcity of lancer class ones, though later into the story you'll be given an archer class servant that outperforms him by a fair margin in my opinion.
  4. Saber: Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. This is a bit of an odd choice for me because I don't like genderbending, I don't like overpowering servants that should not be powerful, I don't like saberfaces, and I don't like her dress. So why the hell is she my favorite saber? Firstly I really like her personality. I'm the kind of guy who loves getting compliments, and she lathered them on thick, of course I responded in kind and we had a great master servant relationship going. Also, I got into Fate through Fate/Zero, and Extra was the first game I played. Therefore Nero was my servant, similar to how a lot of people feel about Arturia thanks to the visual novel. If the earlier points I raised were changed to suit my tastes but their personality stayed the same (male or female) I have no doubts that this servant would be in my top 5 overall. Lancer: Cu, no Scathach, no Cu, no Scathach, no Cu, no Scathach, no Cu, no Scathach. In all honesty though, as much as I'd love to say Cu I have to give it to Scathach. Immediately after watching Fate/Zero for the first time, I wondered about which servant I would like to summon if given the chance. I mused on that for a while before arriving at Scathach. Let me be hipster for a second by saying I liked Scathach before it was cool. I liked Scathach before she was announced for Fate/Grand Order, hell I liked Scathach before I even knew the name Cu Chulainn. I've been waiting for this servant for over 3 years now, and you can imagine my excitement when I learned that they were finally designing her. Archer: Arjuna. This is another story reminiscent of my history with Scathach. Instead of Fate/Zero though my fascination with Arjuna as a servant came about after learning of Fate/Apocrypha. This was the point at which I thought about creating a whole team of 7 servants, much like the black and red factions in Apocrypha. Obviously for this I needed more than just Scathach so I went looking for more recruits. Arjuna is someone I found while trawling Wikipedia one day, completely independent of looking into Karna's backstory funnily enough, and the more I read of this badass demigod archer, the more I was convinced that he would make a fantastic servant. By the completion of his legend I didn't even bother thinking about other archer candidates, I'd already found my man. So yeah, another one that I've been waiting for a long time for. Rider: Achilles? I don't really know, there aren't any rider class servants that I'm particularly attached to. I don't know the first thing about Achilles' personality in Apocrypha but his skills, parameters, noble phantasms, design, and source legend are no joke. So yeah, until a rider comes along that really catches my eye I'll go with him. Caster: Solomon? This is another case of "I don't have any servants of this class that I particularly like so bleh" but Solomon is a servant that has been regarded among Fate fans for years as the most likely candidate for the strongest caster class servant, and it looks like they weren't wrong. He's been hyped for years now, and I was certainly among the crowd that were interested to see what he would be capable of. Cu Chulainn. Can't be arsed to say why but you all know I love him. Assassin: Semiramis. Li Shuwen gets an honourable mention as a runner up ('cause that guy is crazy cool) but Semiramis is the one that takes Assassin home for me. I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her, but she's powerful, ambitious, driven, highly intelligent, and her Hanging Gardens of Babylon noble phantasm is downright insane. Plus there's the fact that she has the second oldest servant origin thus far, and is an assassin that uses magic. 10/10 for her design as well, that was on point and drew me right in from the get go. Semiramis is awesome. Berserker: Lancelot. Berserker is a class in which I feel there aren't many "cool" servants, but Lancelot is definitely one. Just the way that he fights as an expert in all forms of warfare, even though he's absolutely insane is fantastic. His stats are also as crazy as his mental state when you factor in Protection of the Fairies, Arondight, and Mad Enhancement. They go right past Heracles, it's no wonder Kariya was drained when Lancelot pulled that sword out. Awesome design, awesome abilities, and my favorite Fate/Zero servant.
  5. No I knew that we would get here, I'm just pleased that it happened so quickly.
  6. I particularly like my Espeon Psyamese, and my Omastar Deadweight. Deadweight because it was the weight of the shell that supposedly caused Omastar to go extinct in the first place, and because he carries my team half the time with shell smash and surf.
  7. ! Was that on your main? Congrats Ikaru, we've done it.
  8. A happy new year to all of you lot. I hope 2016 treats you well.

  9. This new year's event... Arjuna is coming. I'm not ready for this but he gets added to the story gatcha with chapter 5 so I'm okay with this. He's also a confirmed 5* (now I can breath easy) with higher stats in both ATK and HP than Gilgamesh (wth?) and boasting the highest archer attack stat in the game as of right now. I expected that he'd be an offensive servant given his ridiculous arsenal but this is crazy. He's going to be on a limited time gatcha along with Gilgamesh, Kintoki, Karna, and Scathach. Gilgamesh is on the 1st, Kintoki on the 2nd, Karna on the 3rd, Arjuna on the 4th, Scathach on the 5th, both Karna and Arjuna on the 6th, and all 5 on the 7th. More info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/3yr94a/new_years_event_karnaaa/ If you're looking for someone in particular I'd say wait until the day that they are on their own, so that no one else is clogging up that 1% of specific 5* rate up. Gather up any quartz that is left to you folks, this is gonna be a huge event.
  10. Welcome Dex. If anything is unclear about how to interact here on the forums feel free to shoot me a PM, it's kind of my job to help with that but I'd be doing it if it wasn't anyway. Geology huh? That takes me back, I majored in geology when I was an undergrad, wasn't all that good at it though. Then I did an honours year in something fossil related and... well it was really hard to cut it short, good but hard. With that in mind good luck with your masters!
  11. If we're talking about Awakening only then some of the strongest units I've ever used among the parental generation (children being broken is a given) are Swordmaster!Gaius (the extra str growth really helps him out over Lon'qu in my opinion), Hero!Cordelia (one of the most optimal blends of str, skl, spe, and def I've ever seen in a close quarters unit), and Wyvern Lord!Panne (this is just downright broken, easily the best axe user in the early game if you reclass her straight away, just look at her growths). Tharja's also a really good mage, but that's probably because I've never really used Ricken or Miriel. Then again I've never used Donnel 'cause I reckon he looks stupid, he probably beats out all of these except maybe Panne. If we're talking about FE in general then holy hell Zihark is good.
  12. Christmas eve is generally a pretty regular day for me, except I watch the parade go down the street, followed by the carols in the evening. Christmas morning I go to church with the family, and then get together with the extended family for a massive lunch. Cricket with the whole family and an easy evening of resting. Well that's what it's usually like, this year not so much.
  13. Welcome and merry Christmas. From what I can tell you remind me a lot of myself when I was your age. That's probably a good thing?
  14. Well the clock has officially ticked over (about half an hour ago actually) in Aus so even though many of you will be waking up on Christmas eve soon a very merry Christmas to everyone here at Reborn. You rock, and my life is a lot better for knowing you. When it comes time wherever you are in the world, remember to drop by here and wish those that share this fantastic community with you merry Christmas.
  15. Heh I thought you might know who I was, honestly I would have been a bit disappointed if you didn't. You said you'd spent the day familiarizing yourself with this place, so I'll assume you know how the forums work and what to do/not to do. What you might not know is that up in the top left corner is a link to our chatroom (Reborn Showdown), a place I'm sure you've heard plenty about already. Feel free to join us there, it's the best way to really get to know us and it seems we might have a fair bit to talk about. If you're looking for me specifically though, I won't be on until later tonight.
  16. You and me both mate, you and me both. Welcome to reborn, whether you're planning on sticking around or not.
  17. Depends on how many points you want to spend on the servant. If you have the extra points then Santa Alter all the way. Better card distribution, higher stats, better noble phantasm.
  18. I fully agree with Skeleton (at least I think it was Skeleton) about the snowball fight. It was basically fire/water/grass/ice OU plus a mandatory Delibird. I tried bringing some more alternative stuff and just got wiped in the first round and when I watched some other battles all I was seeing is Heatrans, Talonflames, Rotom-Ws, Ferrothorns, and Kyurem-Bs. How is that any different to regular OU except that everyone has to bring a death fodder/suicide lead pokemon and no one had Landorus-T? Maybe I'm just jaded about the current OU meta and salty that I lost in the first round but I honestly think it would have been a lot more fun to run PU with a mandatory Delibird and get everyone out of the only meta that's ever played here.
  19. It is done. 15 hearts, 1 crystallized lore, a bajillion skill gems from every class, and who knows how many millions of QP later (I think in excess of 50 mil) I have walked into the land of unlimited star works. Combined with her CE it's 3 turns on 3 turns off of 17 crit stars a turn when on and 8 crit stars a turn when off. Thank you based Jeanne, queen of team support.
  20. I love it Inuki. Also, I was lucky enough to have the craft essence drop on the Scathach account so she's gonna be running a max ascended one for that nice 10% quick damage and 15% crit damage. Should be perfect for her.
  21. Apparently the black tickets can be traded in for more copies of Santa Alter.
  22. The golden apple or the stockings? Also here's a pretty neat little popularity contest for those that are interested: https://www.pollcaster.com/c/poll/LTtz71gKhvMli3RC67tGlmgYnzf As of the time of writing the top 10 looks like:
  23. TFW you find a Jack support with the plus stars craft essence equipped, and then out of habit decline sending them a friend request. There goes my ticket to the final two copies of the craft essence on the Scathach account. A craft essence that is basically perfectly suited to her needs at that. I NEEDED THAT JACK! Edit: TAFW YOU ALMOST LOSE THE SCATHACH ACCOUNT BECAUSE YOU FORGOT TO DOUBLE CHECK THE CODE! I WAS HALF WAY THROUGH TYPING IN THE CODE FOR MY OTHER ACCOUNT, BUT SOMETHING FELT OFF! THANK YOU INTUITION/GOD!
