    Can't forget about the signatures, y'know. How in the gen 4 tcg they had mons from specific trainers? Das right, the signature Pokemon, and what better way to start of with perhaps the most infamous of them all? Solaris' Garchomp EX. HP 150. Dragon type. Ability: Relentless Assault. This Pokemon's attacks do +20 damage for every 2 energy cards on it. Dragon Tail. 60 Damage. 1 Colourless Energy, 1 Fire Energy. Switches your opponent's active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon. Earthquake. 100 Damage. 3 Colourless Energy, and 1 Fighting Energy. Oh yeah 8^)

    Gary is also the grandson of Professor Oak who's a renowned Pokemon Professor and is theorized depending on continuity and debatably in the anime to have once been the champion of Kanto. Him being extremely accomplished isn't even unusual. After all, it's common for the rival to be the big thing you strive to overcome. IIRC a lot of those 200 pokemon Gary captured were duplicates too... But that's besides the point. From a narrative standpoint, Ash losing makes sense: the tv broadcast from Lysandre. Imagine the badass boast; The league champion was working for them all along and the ONLY person to have given him a challenge, the runner up, has been captured and is essentially being crucified. Would be p hope crushing. Also Turtonator is dope as fuck. Give me more.

    From what I see, Alain's extremely conflicted here. He's having trouble grasping the situation here after all, the man, HIS MENTOR AND BOSS that he trusted and gathered all this mega evolution energy for believing the lie he had been told that it had been for Mairin's Chespin turns out to be a psychopath that abused a sacred being to the point where it went full Pulse-Tangrowth and started destroying Lumiose City with fucking plant roots. The facial expression's there show it amazingly and then there's the first trailer with the Tv Broadcast referring to Lysandre's Holo Caster broadcast in the games(Neat touch actually.)

    Eh, Team Flare so far has been quite entertaining so I'll give the Flehhhhd Arc the benefit of a doubt here. The preview is fucking lit as all hell animation wise and from a narrative perspective it makes perfect sense. Hopefully we can see something amazing from this. Here's the second preview, I think.
