hello. do you have the time to talk about our lord and savior, swampert? mudkip isnt too bad. marshtomp isnt too bad either, although rather weak around the early 30ties. swampert is literally god. when I say that I havent used ANY pokemon in rse with more success than swampert, I dont joke. this pokemon has only one weakness, which is grass. in a region in which grass is nearly nonexistent. moreover, swampert has good bulk. not great, but good. good enough to bulk a few hits, at least. especially if theyre neutral. and thats a very good thing to have in nuzlockes. swampert also has pretty good offensive stats. its special attack could have been better, but in a region where half the mons get affected negatively by the physical/special split, it honestly could have been a lot worse. either way, usually swampert only needs one move- earthquake. and it hits hard. have I mentioned that a swampert that picked up a few speed evs along the way also manages to outspeed stuff? because it can. it totally can. and you dont even have to ev train for it. im sorry if I look a little biased because I totally am. swampert makes rse nuzlockes easymode, its absolutely hilarious. note: this only applies as soon as it becomes swampert. while by no means bad, mudkip and marshtomp arent nearly as godlike as their final evolution.

I know fuligin, it wasnt particularly good but not too bad either so I was kinda indifferent towards that one my ass was just cringe. much like outlaw and all other hacks from crizzle, pretty much. and nidokingdom...im afraid to go check it out.

alright, im here and ready to go full in on this one. bear with me. - eevee/eeveelutions and riolu. so whoever knows me a bit, absolutely knows I despise seeing these pokemon appear in fanfictions, especially as starters. the reason for that is quite simple- im sick of seeing them. theyre literally EVERYWHERE in fanfictions. whenever the main character announces 'I have a different starter pokemon' or 'im going to catch my starter pokemon myself' or even 'my starter pokemon was abused and I nursed it back to health', in 90% of the cases that very same starter is eevee or riolu (to a lesser extent ralts). main characters in pokemon fanfics literally start out more often with eevee or riolu than with actual starter pokemon. sure, the aura is a cool concept and everything, and sure, the concept behind eevee was rather cool. but theyve been used so much now that just seeing an eevee or a lucario gives me major headaches, and thats not even only talking fanfictions. the ironic thing is that a lot of those very same people complain about pikachu being overused by gamefreak, while at the same time the pokemon fanbase abuses lucario and eevee much harder than gamefreak could ever have used pikachu. - speaking of lucario. remember that one movie in which a lucario was able to talk? yeah? that was cool, wasnt it? yeah, now every trainer in the world who has a bond with their riolu/lucario can talk to those too in fanfics. disregard the fact that every single other lucario that has ever appeared in the anime, games or wherever could not talk for a bit, because I have a bond with my lucario and that means im able to talk to them. it doesnt matter that korrina, who had such a tight bond with her lucario that she was able to mega evolve it, wasnt able to talk to it. and the worst is that the reasoning is always the same- tight bond, we can talk. god, at this point just say that the aura your riolu/lucario uses is stronger than the average or something. that honestly isnt much better, but im so done with seeing this 'tight bond' stuff, especially if said tight bond develops in goddamn chapter 4 or something. - your main character never did well in any classes or something, and was never really remarkable. thats a good thing, now youve made sure theyre not a gary stu or a mary sue. oh, and now they received their starter pokemon, which is imported from another region. and now they can start their pokemon journey to meet lots of new pokemon but for unspecified reasons only bond with the rarest of them while not losing a single battle ever. if this sounded okay to you, I want to beg you to reconsider. - speaking about the 'rare pokemon' stuff, why does every random trainer in your story have things like rattata or pidgey or even stuff like kadabra, sandslash or onix? thats because theyre not too rare and thus should made sense for the trainers to have, right? then why in the name of the lord does your main character have a team that consists of charizard, venusaur, blastoise, vaporeon, dratini and I dont know what else? because theyre the main character? if your main character is as happy to finally be able to go on their pokemon journey and befriend all pokemon, then why in the name of the lord do they not catch a random rattata or caterpie and instead wait for the first rare pokemon to appear? - nicknames are a weird concept in fanfictions. your main character(s) use them, but literally everyone bar maybe your rivals dont. why? who will ever know, man. who will ever know. I dont have much time left so ill cut it short for now, but next up ill be focusing on the worst cliches of them all. the ones that still make me shake in anger every time I read them. betrayal ash fanfiction cliches. partly agree, partly disagree. yeah, its harder to give your pokemon a character due to this, but at least you can try. make a chapter centered around one specific pokemon (not counting the chapter you catch said pokemon in) or something. ive literally seen fics that fully go 'pokemon are friends and equals and' yada yada yada, and then proceed to only focus on the human characters and go full 'oh and on the way charmander evolved into charmeleon and learned metal claw'. like, at least specify how that happened. jesus christ, its not that hard.

fire red balanced edition order and chaos quartz those are about the worst ive ever played. so bad that they were actually fun to play because I could not stop laughing at how badly the game was fucking up.

funnily enough, sages stone has been one of the most common sr drops ive gotten so far, next to insect imitation and the gross ghost of fled dreams. also got my second dark magician girl yesterday so I cant complain. also jar of greed luckily isnt hard to get, ty based card trader.

to be fair I kinda changed around a few things in that deck. swapped out one shard of greed, versago the destroyer, big koala and master of oz to fit in three thunder dragons and a twin-headed thunder dragon.

intimidate leaves you with only 67% of your original attack stat, meaning that your attack loses one third of its power. its more important than you would think at first glance. if your pokemon had 300 attack originally, it goes down to a mere 200 after intimidate does its stuff. so yeah. fuck that electivire.

honestly, I did enjoy the story back then. then again, that was around the same time I was able to enjoy freaking ruby destiny rescue rangers. id never be able to play the latter again, because its chock-full of bugs, you cant even believe it. I kinda got higher standards for hacks/fangames atm, but if you guys claim the other dark rising games arent bad, I might just try them. with higher standards I dont mean order and chaos, guys. I just either play really good hacks or hacks that are so bad it makes me laugh. ...annnd I just looked up the three starters for dark rising 2 and theyre dragonite, garchomp and salamence. while I get that this makes sense from a story perspective, its really off-putting for me due to the fact that theyre goddamn pseudo-legendary final evolved forms being handed out as starters. story point of view? alright, I got it. gameplay point of view? come on. either way, if this new game is better than the original, and doesnt have freaking pseudo-legendary final evolved dragon mons as starters, ill probably check it out sooner or later. edit: 'An outbreak has plagued the Ferrum Region. Digital Monsters known as Digimon have merged their data with the DNA of Pokemon.' nope, sorry, im out. this is purely my own opinion, but I heavily, heavily dislike this concept. sorry. edit edit: oh thank god thats actually not dark rising 3 I was terrified for a moment.

from what I played of dark rising, im afraid I have to say that it was not particularly an enjoyable experience. it was a combination of disliking the setting and the level curve- the beginning was nice, but then they just started trying too hard for my liking. I also dont particularly like game and anime characters getting mixed up with each other, something dark rising did exactly. and dont even get me started on the level curve. it wasnt just bad, it was straight-up atrocious. random npc trainers were kept at their original levels, while the major trainers right after were roughly 15-30 levels higher. there was honestly no excuse for that. to be fair, I havent tried out generations yet. maybe I should, but the original kinda left me unwilling to try.

serious conversation with said person is not going to help because im pretty sure that I know who said friend is and if im correct he has blocked amine on all possible fronts already. either way, if your friendship fell apart that easily, im not sure if it was that great to begin with. sorry if im being rude, saying that. but even with the 'knock it offs' etc, blocking was kind of an extreme measure. anyway, yeah, youre at fault, but stop beating yourself up over that. you made a mistake, youve grown out of that mistake. because should you ever grow closer to said person again, you know what you can and cant do. what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger.
