That dry skin on your toxicroak might not function very well with ninetails' drought. Maybe swap it to poison touch, which surely be helpful. Also, is dragon claw really functional on archeops? You only get super-effective coverage on one type with that move. For the rest, I can only hope that an in-game character doesn't use that team on me...

You know he became the 'fire god' in one of the movies...and I liked a more relatable ability than a standard one. Maybe making it's HA Simple as a compromise? (Or an ability like: randomly sets entire field on fire) Thinking about it using flame charge just makes me giggle.

Thought of that one, too, but I would give it Strong Jaw, because, snakes. Mega Weavile would be cool, making it an even stronger glass cannon, and/or giving it refrigerate.That should give the opponent more chills that mega glalie... In the same vein, we could have a mega crobat with mixed offensive stats...like giving it 50 extra in special and physical attack, so everyone can decide what they want. Maybe with gale wings (or poison touch), just for fun? And while we're at it, why don't we have a Mega Arcanine yet? That could make for some really majestic design... Also, personal preference, but maybe make tungstrike's face a little more threatening. It's based of a sabertooth, after all. Unless you want to make a sid-like pokemon, too. That would be grand and hilarious

Treecko isn't that fantastic, I picked it in my first run. Special needs HP fire or so, and another coverage move, if you're able to breed it onto it (since tm's). Physical is not as strong, but gets a lot more coverage moves. He is pretty cool, though. Honestly, If you want a grass-type, then roserade is awesome, and azumarill is really powerful and pretty early access (but will get pushed next episode). If you wany a good fire-type, then you can get arcanine and ninetales (if you 'grind' a bit) also quite early. So choose what you like the most, there is enough coverage to be found to back you up.

It only really affects competitive play in a big way, while only a little difference is noticed in playing through a storyline, normally. In Reborn this is a bit less the case, due to the level caps. Personally, I think of it as: 'what would make that pokemon you caught any different of the others besides it's nature?' I just don't really know if IVs is the only way, but it is a noticeable way to give your pokes more personality. So I think they're not that much of a problem. They only get really annoying when you try to breed for great IV's in canon games.

I don't know. If taken into account, they should change the music inside the gym, since it's too upbeat atm. Also, for Serra, the song doesn't have a feeling of regret, which would be necessary in this case. The song is too grand for such a thing, it doesn't resonate to the feeling of one person, but more like one shared by many. (I don't know if that is a very clear description, sorry :/)

IV-breeding a pokemon is quite easy in this episode, since there are some handy bugs atm. Also, it feels good to be prepared for anything ame throws at me (that doesn't mean I am...). In that regard, having (the idea of having) an extra edge gives me more confidence to go in a battle. If you still get beaten with every strategy, then you at least can pinpoint the problem to a lack of balance/coverage, instead of the possibility that your pokemon could have won, if they were properly trained.

The original music of Spinel town gave off a feeling that something terrible HAD happened, like a sense of mourning. Beautiful as it is, that doesn't really fit with Spinel. It's not that Serra died and the funeral was going to start, for which that song would be really fitting (or anyone else really important or so). I have to say, some sounds (not the song itself) needed to be a little 'softened', in the sense that the were a little too physically grating to the ears. It was a really beautiful song, though. In my opinion, if any major character(s?) die in the future, then the music of the area where that happened should adopt that song or something like that.

That would be a twist, but it wouldn't make sense in terms of logic, I think. I mean, that was quite a big event, so we can assume he heard the name (even if we didn't). I had a team of only 6 when finishing the previous episode, but trained a metagross to deal with future ice-types on the ice field (bullet punch did really well). Now I have trained 2-3 extra special attackers for if I had to battle underwater. So that makes 9 poke's so far. I'm amidst of replacing my old team for properly EV'd ones with near perfect IV's, however.

They should make steven stone the main protagonist, or so. That would be cool. Or maybe the protagonist of pokemon colosseum, but how he was intended to eventually become in XD.
