If we're talking about why people care more about the people at Charlie Hebdo than the decimated Nigerian villages, then we should keep in account that empathy is inversely related to distance. For examlple, if a friend of yours died, you would care more about it than when a news flash tells you that 5 people died on another continent. You can't blame people for not caring as much, people would explode if they did. It is understandable for people of the western world to be very concerned about Charlie Hebdo, since it happened in a country like theirs (kinda), and it infringes on a value most of them (or us, whatever) hold high, namely free speech. That doesn't take away that things are right or wrong.

She can't take away what you already have obtained, only what is left for you to obtain. Hence that I have a gyarados (that I didn't use, ironically).

I just now realised that you wrote you're from Lebanon. Please don't take the next things as an offense, I'm just trying to figure things out (as ignorant as I am, news we get from that region is rare lately). Do you experience problems regarding your genderidentity in your country? As far as I know, Lebanon is quite Islamic, so I would think that would give problems with some people's faith, especially with some radical movements of Islam in that region, due to the civil war in Syria. Also, do you think it's sad two nations get angry over a selfie? I just want to know how people think about those things in those countries (I'm not justifying any recent (military) actions, on the contrary) With all respect, *enters username*
