I don't have the time nor the motivation to make new decks for the NPCs for the YGO roleplay, specially now that I have abdicated from host duties. At the same time, I feel bad about having dropped this particular responsibility on Dobby, a guy who never was interested in competitive dueling and advanced teambuilding... What to do?

I'll post forum-related stuff because, honestly, I don't think you guys give a damn about the part of me you don't know anything about (and you are right). So firstly, I hate it when I come here to send important private messages to people, and I miss them by five minutes or less. As in, message sent at 12:30, that person was last online at 12:25. I know it's irrational, but whenever this happens I always feel extremely pissed off for some reason. Also, people who post. Ok this came out wrong, let me elaborate: when you are directly attacked and/or insulted and/or provoked, it is your right to make your voice heard. And if you spot a topic/post/status that is against the rules, it is your duty as a member of a community to report it to the mods. But if a topic or status is not against the rules and does not call you directly into question, even if you disagree with it, why must you voice your disapproval at the risk of causing a flame fest? I mean if I thought that a topic about pet peeves is a stupid thing, I would never post in it saying "a topic about pet peeves is a stupid thing". I would simply stay away from that topic. Why cannot people pick the safest and easiest path of not posting? It might sound silly and hypocritical from a guy who has over 1000 posts, but really, I sincerely feel that sometimes not posting is as important, if not more important, than posting... -
You know, reading this after watching WCW wrestling shows from the nineties (namely the NWO storyline and its endless stream of "WHO IS THE THIRD MAN?" and "OH MY GOD THERE WAS A FOURTH MAN!") really makes me wonder if Ame is a covert wrestling fan. With this in mind, I hope Ame doesn't do the mistake WCW did, I.E. dragging the whole angle for too long, with too many people jumping ship to the point were people just stopped reacting to the repeated heel turns simply because they had become an almost daily occurrance ("Oh look, turns out that guy was the 36th man of NWO *yawns* "). So yeah, to quit the wrestling metaphore and talk clear: I hope Ame will resist the tentation of putting the player into a stream of "shocking" revelations in which all of (or most of) the leaders join Team Meteor one after the other. An angle involving a traitor has enormous emotional potential, so whenever it is used it should be made to feel like a big deal. And like all things, if it happens once per episode it stops feeling like a big deal, which ends up killing the potential. So yeah, revealing another leader to be a traitor would be a risky decision. Revealing two leaders to be traitors wouldstart feeling redundant, albeit still salvageable if two or more episodes pass between the reveals. Revealing 3 or more leaders to be traitors would be a mistake. Or at least I think so.

I would be you standard trainer who walks from town to town beating gyms. I like walking, building up a profession which pretty much consists in walking to all sorts of places is more or less my definition of happiness.

And if you play your cards right, you can even make sure they are reunited after shit happens! A truly heartwarming moment and yes, as you said, the fact that the romance in question does not revolve around the MC only adds to the narrative, because it avoids the usual videogame cliché according to which events happen and characters develop only in relation to the player's point of view... A romance developing (and causing major character development) without the MC involved makes the whole story all the more realistic!

Rock ftw. Archeops @ Focus Sash Tyranitar @ Assault Vest Cradily @ Leftovers Carbink @ Leftovers Aerodactyl @ Aerodactylite Rhyperior @ Life Orb A team that relies on the combos between specific members to overcome the many weaknesses that usually plague this type. The combos in question are: 1) Trick Room+Explosion Carbink - Bulky attacker Rhyperior. Rock seems a rather weak type untill you find yourself staring down a Rhyperior with full health, Life Orb and 4 attacks with 3 turns of Trick Room left... 2) AV Tyranitar - Physically defensive Cradily. Ttar can take Ice attacks aimed at Cradily, and Cradily drains water attacks aimed at Ttar. In sand, Cradily becomes insanely bulky on both sides of the spectrum, and can trap enemy walls (and in general enemy Pokemon that lack U-turn/Volt Switch/Baton Pass) with Infestation and then proceed to Toxic stall them. It is the closest thing to a defensive core this team has, and while Fighting-type Pokemon can generally obliterate it, most Fighting-type Pokemon out there cannot really beat Carbink, so they will be perfect bait for the Trick Room combo. Once Rhyperior has softened up enemy walls and punched holes in their ranks (helped by Cradily's wear down strategy), I simply let Trick Room expire and keep attacking with Rhyperior untill it goes down (it will take a couple hits, because Solid Rock makes it very very bulky). At this point Aerodactyl can come in, Mega Evolve, and clean house. Archeops acts as a suicidal lead that sets up rocks, taunts enemy defoggers to keep the rocks up, and cripples enemies with Endeavor once Focus Sash has activated. Steel is the bane of this team but ehi, I think being able to address all other weaknesses of the Rock type is already good enough, considering how many there are... -
When I read "Can I really be" I was expecting this. Now I am kinda disappointed.

Regardless of the storylines (and the occasional overbooking that was unfortunately inevitable in WCW) this was really a fantastic PPV.

SOmetimes it is best to stick with that you know, because you know it so well. Also... usually everytime you pick up a team you are going to ahve to learn the heck out of it. ((It might be a novel idea to make an alt account for learning new teams jsut to preserve your rank, which I know some people do. Others don't because they think it is kinda shifty thing to do. and I don't blame them, so up to you lol.))

Watching the whole NWO storyline all over again brings good memories, but also reminds me just why WCW went out of business: in the episode I am watching right now, they had this massive, 20 minutes long segment in the backstage... IN AN ARENA WITH NO TITANTRON. The crowd had literally no idea of what was going on. Just an example of typical WCW booking...
