  1. Whooo explanation time Uh, first off, I think your stats are fine as is. From what I understand, Realm of Twilight is more of a Reality Marble-type magecraft. This is separate from the Territory Creation class skill. Territory Creation indicates the ability of a Servant to mark and claim a section of land as their own, wherein they are able to freely draw upon mana flowing through the leylines, in addition to having a constant perception of events within their territory. On the other hand, Reality Marbles are a magecraft that forces their user's perception of reality onto the world, distorting the world within a certain space. Slight difference. Secondly, the reason why Territory Creation is crucial to Casters is because it's basically the only unique advantage possessed by a class which is typically regarded as the weakest. Within your territory, the efficiency at which you draw and use mana is increased, you have a greater control over what happens within, and you're more able to set up and prepare defenses. This reflects the general behaviour of magi in the Nasuverse: a magus' two most treasured things are first, his Mystic Code, next, his workshop. Magi in the Nasuverse are primarily academics, and their workshop is where their thaumaturgy shines, since it is a space which has been optimised for their specific type of magic. Considering that Casters are mostly supposed to be First-rate Magi, most have very high ranks in Territory Creation/Item Creation. Of course, there are exceptions. Tamamo-no-Mae, for instance, has a low Territory Creation rank of C and a nonexistent Item Creation rank, as they do not mesh with her personality. But she makes up for the deficit with overwhelming ability; she has so much natural prana that creating a territory would be basically a superfluous waste of time.

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait. Have him look up Titan's Grave. It's a show being done on Geek and Sundry that's TRPG based. It's a good example of what it can be and it's done in person. It's got it's own world to it as well. It's a bit Science Fantasy, It's shows more what it's like in person since they are all in the same room etc.

    3. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

It also assumes that some are new to it and takes that into account and they explain it from there and it's pretty informative. That's where I would recommend starting.

    4. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Here's a link to the Playlist of the current episodes starting at the primer for it that explains the game etc...
  3. Vance and Lily "No, no, this is nothing..." Is what Lily said, but she was evidently elated at receiving her Master's praise. A red tint coloured her cheeks, and she scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. "As for how..." Lily immediately stopped being embarrassed and started to veritably sparkle as she began to explain. "I used a special crystal known as Tuning Crystal to recieve and interpret the radio waves already in the air that are used for Internet access. Then, using my nervous system as a circuitboard, I redirected the received information to a partitioned bit of my brain for suconscious processing and interpretation. Again using my nervous system, I redirected the now-processed information to another special jewel known as a Projection Crystal, which has the magical properties of displaying a projected image of whatever the holder is thinking, but I modified the input to only contain the processed data, so it just displays the webpage. Audio is output through a seperate Projection Crystal, so I can actually listen to audio without having to display the screen. I would have included a CD drive as well, but I figured it would be a redundant addition." Lily took a deep breath, calming down after her excited explanation. "Well then, with this, it should be much easier to find information on other Servants." She flashed her Master a brilliant smile.
  4. Vance and Lily Lily acknowledged the presence of the orange in the corner of her eye as she continued to work. "Ah, please wait a moment, I'm nearly done." With a few more tweaks, she set aside the gauntlet and experimentally moved around the fingers on her modified left arm. Feeling no irregularities, she smiled in satisfaction. Then she raised it horizontally above the ground, whereupon a small compartment in the arm opened up to reveal a shining blue crystal. The crystal glowed for a bit, then started to shine even more brilliantly, generating countless streams of light that formed a rectangular screen over her arm, in midair. On the screen was displayed a mass of black with a white fleur-de-lis in the centre, accompanied by the text "LilyOS 1.0". Immediately the screen changed to show the webpage of the Google search engine, causing Lily's eyes to sparkle in glee. She quickly tried a few test searches, then dismissed the projected screen and resealed the compartment on her arm, cutting off the blue light. She turned to Vance, gratefully accepting the orange. "Ah, yes. I've been working with machines all my life. I started because I didn't really have a choice, but I think I came to enjoy it. There's something amazing about creating a new machine to fulfill some purpose. It makes me feel alive, I suppose." She took a bite of the orange, savourig the juice that burst out in her mouth.
  5. And we finally meet the party \o/ From next chapter onwards I might put an ! in the topic title for 24hrs after each update.
  6. Vance and Lily "I don't have much, but it's better than nothing." "Oh, no, it's fine. Servants do not require food to survive. More importantly, you said you had a computer in the back? I'll go take a look, if you don't mind." Lily could scarcely contain her excitement. A computer, with access to the Internet! This was a prime opportunity! She walked around the house searching until she finally found the machine, then took down the tower and sat beside it, humming a little as she disassembled it. As she worked you could see a glittery atmosphere around her, which was accented by her quiet mumbling while she picked the machine apart. "Hmm... So this goes here, and...? What are all these square things... Oh! They must be for that data thing. Hmmm... I suppose I don't really need those... Ah! Here we are. Antenna. Hmmm... it seems simple enough... ohhh so it gets the wave through this bit, then converts it here... Mmmmm I suppose I could use a bit of Tuning Ore to substitute the receiver... Then a magic formation to convert it to nerve signals... mm. I should probably divert the nerve endings to a partitioned node... Alright, got it." Lily quickly reassembled the computer's body and set it aside, then reached into her Barrier Space and pulled out a white gauntlet, covered in various mechanical tools. She kissed it lightly, whispering to it. "It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm sorry. But it's a pleasure to work with you again." Swiftly, she donned the gauntlet on her right hand, then lifted her left arm in front of her face and set to work adjusting it. ((Self Modification EX))
  7. Liliana simply stayed and stared as Leivinia leaned into her and spoke at an incredibly close distance. She was, naturally, surprised, but she made no external reaction. After all, there seemed to be no hostile intent. As for the other girl's offer, however, Liliana was certainly willing to comply. She, too, was rather interested in the city view. "Ah, okay. Please take care of me tonight~" Without much thought, something rather suggestive was unconsciously said.
  8. Fang and Vanille are totally in lesbians with each other it's so sweet <3

    1. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Was that ever canon? HEE! I don't know if that was ever canon.

  9. So uh Sazh and Vanille are still the best characters in FF13, but... I do kind of like Hope's development. Even though his Eidolon battle was pretty much as asspull.

    1. Magus

      Magus

Fang is best character, just throwing that out there.

    2. Blanchette

      Blanchette

Hope is sweet, but Fang is definitely interesting~

    3. Cepheus

      Cepheus

      best character is Sazh's Chocobo-chick!!!

  10. So... if any of you are in the Fate/Reborn RP or are following it, you'll know that I'm playing a Servant named Lily Voirgaire, who seems to not come from any previous RP on this site. ...Well, for the uninitiated, the truth is that Lily was originally a Gardevoir that I created for Murdoc's old RP that stopped about a year ago. But when Murdoc mentioned the concept for Fate/Reborn to me, I felt an inexplicable urge to revive her character. Lily's character concept was "the female Ralts that wanted to be a Gallade". She was a Ralts who adored the idea of close combat and wanted to become a cool Gallade like her dad, but was restricted by the restraints of her evolution line. As a result, she ended up growing into a Gardevoir that specialised in close quarters combat, by wrapping her limbs in psychic energy and using them to throw punches and kicks. Now, Murdoc told me that he didn't want Pokemon characters in his Fate RP, so, with his permission, I revised Lily to become a human. To keep with the concept of "wanting to fight but being unable to because of natural circumstances", I decided to make her limbless, instead relying on prosthetics which I will not deny were inspired by Olivie Sagebrecht from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid. Now, if you read through that rant, hooray! You care! And I therefore love you. If not, then you aren't reading this line anyway, so I have nothing to say to you. Well. I was just going about my normal life, when suddenly a story idea struck me. And I realised I could easily fit Lily into it as the protagonist, to finally give her a proper backstory. And that's what I did. So that brings us to my newest project, Lily Ex Machina. Synopsis Link You can read the story here: http://royalroadl.com/fiction/4141 I appreciate any and all feedback, especially constructive criticism. Note that the writing is heavily influenced by the style of Japanese web novels such as Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari and Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou, and as such the differences from traditional Western writing styles may be slightly jarring.
  11. Debronee and Yukine Yukine was on the verge of crying from frustration. It was bad enough that a giant wolf thing had tried to hunt and kill her the previous night. It was bad enough that searches on said wolf thing were turning up basically no results on google.jp. It was bad enough that she was going to have to face Debronee with nothing to show for her efforts. And on top of that, half the search results had to be related to fanfiction regarding some kind of teenage vampire romance, which had sexual descriptions so explicit it made her blush. And she grew up in a brothel. Yukine massaged her forehead with two fingers, toying with the idea of using the Grail to rid the world of bad writing. While she despaired at the state of humanity, Debronee appeared next to her, inquiring about her progress. She shook her head. "Sadly, I've turned up nothing. As I thought, this legend is likely not one of Eastern origin, so it's unsurprising that fewer people on this side of the world have heard of it. How about you? Any luck?"
  12. so I've been playing FF13 for a bit and tbh I don't see a reason for the hate.

The linearity of it (The game is described by a lot of people as a "Hallway") seems to be why a lot of people don't like it. But when asked, most people prefer it over uhh, lightning returns was it? it's one of the 13 side games.

    3. Eternal Edge

      Eternal Edge

Final Fantasy has always been kinda linear so I don't really care about that personally. Imo the story akd most of the characters aren't that great. Lightning is basically Cloud, Hope is an annoying piece of shit. Only characters I cared about were Sazh and Vanille. I do love the music 100% though.

    4. Autumn Rain

      Autumn Rain

The game was fun but it took me forever to unlock the Chocobo without having to watch a Youtube video.

  13. Vance and Lily "Oh yes, most certainly." Lily's eyes sparkled in excitement as Vance voiced his suggestion. "There are certainly plenty of things I'd like to see. Anywhere with a large number of mechanised weapons, for example. Maybe some kind of war museum? Oh, and one of those "projector" things, I've never seen one before. Oh! And a computer! We didn't have any of those back in my time." Lily put a hand over her mouth as she realised she had been about to ramble. "Ahem...I apologise. Also, if you'd permit me to raise a suggestion, Master... if we're going to adopt the wandering around plan, even though with these metal limbs I can walk perfectly fine, perhaps I could stay in the wheelchair and you could push me around? It might serve to fool Masters who are operating separately from their Servants. After all, who's ever heard of a crippled hero? Even if their Servant is nearby to sense my presence, they might assume that I am the Master and you, the Servant, and thus would be more likely to try to kill me first." Debronee and Yukine Yukine blushed for a bit when Debronee took her to eat sushi. He didn't seem to think much of it, but it was the first time anyone had ever bought her anything. Come to think of it, the two of them, eating together, going to a public place... Did this qualify as a date? And a date led to kissing right? And kissing led to sex right? Yukine took a deep breath to quell her rampaging imagination which threatened to paint her face red. She had a purpose today. At the library, Debronee voiced out his concerns. Well... She supposed it couldn't be helped if he was unable to read Japanese, but a language he knew... there was the possibility of the beast from last night being detailed in a language other than her own. After all, Japanese legends, from what she knew, had very few werewolf-like creatures. That was more of a Western image. "Alright, D. Search out books in your language and see if you can find anything." She stretched and let out a cute "nnh~" while walking towards the public-use computers. "I'm going to search the Internet."
  14. Vance and Lily Lily blinked a few times as her Master rolled off his sofa and onto the floor with a shout. "Fufu. Master sure is energetic in the morning...perhaps you'd like me to release some of that excess energy...?" With a heated gaze and a slow gait, Lily got out of her wheelchair and crawled on all fours to where Vance was seated on the floor, stroking his face with a gloved hand, insatiable desire evident in her posture. With a smooth, single motion, she traced a line from his cheek, down his neckline, along his chest... "Master..." Then she stopped and sat back down facing him, legs together forming a V shape with the vertice pointing leftwards. "Jokes aside, there are several strategies we can implement." She pulled a pair of glasses that made mechanical whirring sounds from seemingly empty space, then transformed her right index finger into a metal pointer, while her right calf flattened and expanded into a 25x40cm metal slate. Lines began to etch themselves into the slate, and Lily explained while pointing to the slate as visual aids. "We could randomly wander around until we run into another pair, initiating a deathmatch," On the slate, two tiny people were walking in circles, when another pair appeared and an exclamation mark appeared over their heads. The scene then changed to a game-battle-like scene, with a shadowy person facing across from the POV, accompanied by a message "Enemy MASTER would like to battle!" "Or we could hole up here and build up defences and wait for an enemy to attack us, where we'll have the advantage" On the slate, a tiny person approaching an enormous castle was displayed. The figure shook his fist, then quickly ran to the side as a giant robot reminiscent of a Gund*m descended from the sky. "Or, we could survey and investigate places where Masters are likely to create a base given arbitrary criteria, and siege them from there." The slate now showed a tiny figure in a Magic Circle, holding one hand up to its mouth, with a speech bubble reading "Ohohoho~". The speech bubble changed to a sweatdrop as another female figure(presumably Lily) entered the scene on a WW2-era Panzer. "Finally, we can just go about your daily life and wait for other Servants to come to us. We won't be in an advantageous situation in that case, but we might still be able to win." On the slate, two figures were sitting at a table eating, when a literal arrow came flying at them. Instantly the female of the pair knocked away the arrow and pulled out a minigun, firing while laughing hysterically. Explanation conplete, Lily reverted her limbs to their normal state. "So, which do you want to use?" This line was said while flashing a sweet, serene smile.

  17. Well. I completely agree with this being an issue, which I will unhesitatingly admit to having furthered. If you want to look at a reason as to why the players on this forum are less likely to engage in self-directed interaction, it might be due to the earliest days of this subforum. If you'll recall, the earliest RPs to surface on this subforum were Aftermath, Graterras and Aervana. All three of these were largely plot-driven, non-freeform RPs with a focus on advancing the plot. It's possible that from these roots, this RP subforum grew into a community that does not feel a necessity for independant interaction. Of course, this does not excuse anybody, and I do not intend to portray it as a non-issue. Just stating my 200¥ about possible causes for this problem.
  18. So I thought this season's Utawarerumono was a remake. TIL it's a sequel. HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
