  1. That last episode practically "confirms" that the trio are indeed legendary dogs. The silhouettes resembled hounds or some form of dog. I still find it incredibly weird given that 2/3 of the trio are wild cats...and yet they're called dogs.. Oh well, I enjoyed these 2 episodes. It was nice to see Silver and Johto lore overall has always been awesome.
  2. Yeah, it's presumed Alain got rid of his mega bracelet because its origins tie it to Lysandre and Alain doesn't trust that the bracelet won't be doing something else to fuel malicious intents. I think that's fair enough, I'm sure he'll get a new one eventually, maybe from Steven or Sycamore. I'm also sure he still has his Zard X stone, just nothing to use it with. I think what Alain means is that he can never win against Ash in a way that isn't the traditional battle victory meaning of the phrase. More like, Alain has realized that as a human being, he can never win against Ash's pure determination and strength because Ash was able to believe in Alain even after finding out about everything. Ash was able to not break down in the face of Kalos destruction and Ash was able to open Alain's eyes to what he must do. All in all, I just think Alain believes Ash has the qualities of a winner in a moral sense and that he himself can never match them. For the remainder of this anime, we have Serena's episode, we have an episode for RIP syncfrog, an episode where the group says their goodbyes, and then we have a random episode about Alexa and Sycamore exploring ruins in attempt to find out the secret of the legendary pokemon (Zygarde? Or maybe all 3 Kalos legends)
  3. So what happens if you try to eat a Vaporeon? It can supposedly turn its body into water molecules
  4. Pretty sure most people classify his looks as goofy/light-hearted/kiddy rather than hideous but well. It's been a good run but the anime's done for me
  5. So that the yokai watch vibes can be strong and so that kids can look at a goofy kid going on a Hawaiian adventure
  6. Boy, after reading all those traits, I must be a sociopath. Or used to be at some point in my life. I think some of your points are stretching it a bit too much in order to make her fit the profile. Not to say Titania isn't a sadistic murderer or anything, but yeah. I personally like Titania with all of her flaws. She's believable and that's nice. Her role in the story seems to be that she starts off as deranged and slowly changes as the game goes on and as Titania gains new revelations or experiences. As evidenced by the Bluemoon Icecream scenario, I believe that Titania is meant to slowly have her steel armor melted, with or without your help as the MC. I agree that her views are distorted and flawed and that her justification is not morally right, but I also can't hate her for it because every character has their own way of dealing and when they don't/ haven't known any better, they could easily go down a dark path. The really important thing imo is whether they've gone so far that there's no return- and I believe there is a return for Titania As we all know, every Reborn character is flawed and we all have our likes and dislikes. So many people are fond of Terra while that's my number 1 hated character, etc etc. But if you'll hate a character for killing people without remorse, you'll be hating the entire (or almost entire) villain team, El , Saphira and so on. Yes, Saphira murders villains in cold blood just as easily as Titania. She does it because life has, in her mind, forced her to be ruthless to anyone who threatens to hurt her family. Is it morally right? No. Is it justified? No. But for these characters, it's the only way left to deal with threats. I believe that we should all remember that the adults of Reborn have suffered longer than the kids in a dystopian world. I don't find it to be so horrible or ridiculous that some of them are prone to sociopathic tendencies. Their experiences and their world has made them take that path and I'm sure every single character who has committed murder has their reasons for doing so, even if we haven't seen them yet. As such, it should beg the question whether we really need to be so concerned about morality in a world that is practically almost at war and where an entire group of murderers is out to get you. All in all, I find this to be the beauty of pokemon Reborn. You have so many characters, so many flawed characters with so many stories and varying experiences. I find such a setting to be ideal as it makes actions more morally ambiguous and makes you try to look beyond the surface of a character, to think deeper and to try seeing their POV, the things that drive them, the reasons that led them to the choices they made and so on. Overall Reborn is something far more than a mere question of what's wrong or right. As has been stated in the game, sometimes black is white, and white is black, sometimes things aren't as they appear to be on the surface.
  7. It is implied that they do both in the anime and in the games. In the anime, the pokemon-eating mentions and pictures are mostly in the earlier seasons,so you could attribute it to the anime being still new and with no clear sights on progression. However, despite Ash and James mentioning magikarp or krabby delicacies (with pics), you can seldom spot real life animal food on the table such as lobsters or sea food and whatnot. In the games, you have many dex entries which state a Pokemon eats/hunts another. As we all know, most dex entries up till SunMoon have been baseless pieces of text. One might call them not credible. But given that in SunMoon, dex entries and lore are coming to life more and more, I'd say they were always intended to be credible, and yet exaggerated. It doesn't stop with dex entries for the games, though. Various NPCs (mostly in gen 1-2 games) mention pokemon meals and there are ofc the slowpoke tails that are sold as a delicacy. In the Sinnoh library, you find various books with Sinnoh lore, one of which reads: " Pick clean the bones of Pokémon caught in the sea or stream. Thank them for the meals they provide, and pick their bones clean. When the bones are as clean as can be, set them free in the water from which they came. The Pokémon will return, fully fleshed, and it begins anew. " This strongly implies that once upon a time, humans did indeed eat (and also marry, as stated in another book) Pokemon. You could view it as primitive unadvanced humanity resorting to eating Pokemon for lack of other food sources, maybe they don't do it anymore, maybe they do. The thing with the anime (or the pokemon world in general) is that Masuda once said in an interview that we should see the Pokemon world as Earth, and yet not Earth. They live in a universe where things work in ways that we can't yet comprehend because the people in the Pokemon world have technology, resources and customs that aren't present in our Earth. Thus, the meat you see characters eat on the table (chicken legs, burgers , sausages etc) can be artificially created food that the Pokemon world is capabe of making with the advancement they have. It can also be real life animal meat or Pokemon meat. All in all, Masuda claims that you should leave that question to your imagination and gives no definite answer. As a whole, I personally believe both humans and pokemon eat other pokemon, however it is at best implied and will never be shown on screen Regarding Durant and Heatmor- Note that Heatmor the ant-predator is also a fire type which melts Steel, and Durant is conveniently both a bug and a Steel type. Coincidence? I think not. Birds eat worms in their natural diet so it's valid to presume regional birds hunt regional worms Take the gen 7 Hawaiian lore as well. Yungooses were imported to Alola in order to deal with the overpopulation of Alolan Rattata. Implied that humans wanted to murder enough Rattata to decrease their numbers. You can't see it any other way. However, both pokemon missed each other due to one being diurnal and the other nocturnal, so in the end both of them became overpopulated.
  8. He wasn't thinking of giving it to Ash though, people should have abandoned those wet dreams long ago by now . It was more of a "what are you going to do now that it's all over?" conversation during which Alan hasn't decided what to do yet and doubts his strength
  9. It overall has a goofy and light-hearted adventure-focused vibe and Ash looks like he devolved Today's anime episode was nice though. Everybody got medals of honor for fighting Fleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhd and Alan apparently doubted whether he's really skilled as a trainer or was his strength all fake, Ash had to give him a peptalk and whatnot
  10. That's one weird, yet cool field. I say it fits Titania pretty nicely, if it is indeed hers. I recall her diary entries from the school and after had something to do with fairy tales and castles and stuff (I think) so it's nice to see how it materializes in her gym (I mean, it's gotta be her field, rite?) I gotta say, whether the people we'll say goodbye to ...permanently...are ZEL or Anna+Noel, I'll be sad to see them go why can't someone unlikable go for a change??? ..But hey, maybe it's none of the above, after all , the only confirmation we have is a self-made one so , there's always hope
  11. That last ep showed some real brutality on Dragonite's part. It was epic. That poor rocket admin ate so many zaps too. I found it weird that they felt the need to shadow Gold's face, but I can understand where they're coming from. The champion theme was also awesweet. I really wish these were longer than 5mins, they're so epic
  12. Right behind you on that Been a while since I posted here, but I see a lot of info drops have happened, and a bunch of progress. Lovely recent animations too. Isn't our first destination actually Reborn City? I mean... we aren't exactly there at the end of Ep15 so it is technically a destination :[keepitclean]:
  13. Agreed there^ . I'm an avid fan of visual novels so walls of text don't really bother me much as long as they're informative and not a snooze-fest content-wise, but in a game like yours, I'm not too sure what it'd look like without knowing more details. Overall though, if your aim is to show an hour-long cutscene for the sake of letting people know how the training of each character goes, I really see no harm in making some of that training an active mini-quest as opposed to a passive viewing of the events. It's essentially seeing the same things, except by making some of it active, you would probably please the highest amount of people, all the while achieving the same result that you aimed for (best of both worlds? ).
  14. Sometimes the simplest things are the easiest to miss :v I'd agree that's an option as well indeed.. But I also think it's a missed opportunity to not let players experience different characters' training for themselves via mini-training-tasks ... It's something different and would make for an interesting feature if combined. I'd call it a middle ground of sorts
  15. Well hello there, welcome back to the world of living! I hope all or at least most of your personal issues have been resolved by now. There was no way this thread or game in general would die, it's plenty awesome even during a hiatus! I hope you manage to find the people you need, I unfortunately suck at both tasks and don't have too much free time so I can't offer any assistance
  16. Uncontested first place goes to Cynthia. Her team was actually pretty solid and multitype is always harder than Monotype. I have fond memories of the challenge she posed during my numerous regular/challenge runs of D/Pt
  17. If it's something that really lasts an entire hour with no gameplay whatsoever, I agree with previously mentioned suggestions to add some mini gameplay in-between, such as mini training quests to do with the respective character or so, or..just something that is the highlight of their training and when you're done with it, the screen can fade to black and leave the player with the impression that the training didn't stop there, but continued off-screen
  18. Zoroark, Serperior, Chandelure, Krookodile I just get their images flashing through my mind first when I hear/read gen 5
  19. I was kind of disappointed with Ep 3, mostly because I expected to see more of the battles rather than just...talk, progression, monologue .. Gengar's entrance is the best part though.. this is why I wish these were longer than 3-5min
  20. Should take battle field effects 100% , more mature plot and more fleshed-out characters. Also forgettable HMs and the side quest system
  21. Most certainly will do. I start a new playthrough whenever a new Reborn EP brings about a considerable amount of changes to past areas/quests/events/etc . Ep 16 is good enough to qualify for that. The only thing I'm unsure of is whether to start another Monotype playthrough or go with a regular one that said, I will also eventually complete the ep on my Poison monotype file and on my main file
  22. You know, the title of ep1 is "The Adventure"... and, that's what the ep showed. The adventure of a trainer through the regions in 3mins. I don't think these shorts will follow a specific continuity pattern but rather, each ep is gonna be its own thing and its own theme from the POV of a different char. Ep 1 was Red/Pikachu's POV,ep 2 was Looker's. There will be one for Blue/Green too and so on
  23. I don't have a source sadly, but that information's been going around and getting quite wide-spread. I should have clarified that it's just a rumor (but given the difference in style, that rumor isn't too far-fetched) We'll find out for sure whenever there's an official studio listed In other news, 2 episode titles have been released and y'all ain't gonna like them. Say goodbye to Ash getting trophies or Ash fighting Alan or whatever else people wanted to see It appears that not only will Serena 100% leave, but she also will likely not even voice her feelings As for the second title, it seems either the sync frog will cease to exist as a phenomenon or it will get ditched in that ep (At least it won't be at Oak's..that is, unless syncfrog disappears and regular frog gets ditched at Oak's)
  24. That was quite exciting. To think all the Red scenes were in the first episode alone. That brings hope for the next eps to have POVs of other characters. The battle dynamic of that first ep was so awesome though. Such a shame these are 3-5mins long I wish there'd be an actual anime of this
  25. It was actually said they don't have the XY team because they're working on another anime project that will air around the same time as SunMoon (and it's not Generations)
