Seeing as 4.0 is about to drop in the next month or so, I think it is about time I provide my opinion of this game because I have stuff to praise it for and a lot more to criticize. Mind you this is gonna be a long post due to the many issues I have for this game. Thus, I'm breaking this up into parts, just so I don't take the whole damn page. I'll try to keep this as unbiased as possible, but there were a lot of things that annoyed me in this game that needs to be addressed, because Desolation has a lot of promise. Positives (Stand-out features) tl;dr: Excellent defining mechanic that may make-or-break your game, excellent side content, convenient tools, moderate interest in Event Pokemons. I don't think I need to elaborate further, considering most of the stuff I've mentioned are things people might have praised about before. However, know that these features were truly some of the most fun I've had in any fan game that I have played. Unfortunately, this is where I take the kiddy-gloves off. Negatives (A fuck ton) too fucking long; why would you read: Dungeons are long and annoying rather than difficult, overuse of awkward progression of Pokemon levels makes everything overlevel, main story is shallow, main antagonists would appreciate further development, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX SCARLET'S WRITING Honestly I may come off as a presumptuous douche, but these are my thoughts for the current state of Desolation. While I don't hate it (I love it more than 90% of Pokemon fan games out there) it has some massive issues that straight up sacrifice the positives of the game. As mentioned numerous times in this post, Desolation is still in early development, so I don't expect my issues for staying too long. In fact, I am very eager for 4.0 just to see if Caz and whoever is helping him improves the overall quality of the game, because it certainly as the potential to sit with games like Rejuvenation.

Just sayin, baneful bunker toxapex is actually fraudulent and you deserve to get swept by Magearna/Pinser/ect if you spam it. Its not kings shield, it doesn't make you play chess, drop that move But yeah Alolamuk and Alolawak are def the best of the regional variants. AV Adamant Muk is a good check for all of the guardians but the bool, and can beat aegislash 1v1 even after king shield (basically a slightly gimped bisharp) but of course aegis is 1) gonna be banned soon and 2) still has that game of chess that everyone hates. Nothing also wants to switch into a knock off obviously, and it can check/beat some weird gimmicks people seem to use like hail/bruxish/decidueye for freelo. easily OU pre-pokebank, but will certainly drop post with every ban + old threats coming back. Alolawak is the same where it will most definitely not be a staple post-pokebank due to incoming bans/suspects, but has so many great niches like making elecs practically invalid that it will always have a place in the meta. Excellent defensive typing with a natural immunity to 2 types with an added immunity to elecs, excellent movepool, a signature item that makes it a great wall breaker, access to rocks/knock post-bank, reliable status spreader AND absorber, and it pairs nicely with relevant threats AND future threats. it could end up UU/BL depending on how the meta goes into post-bank, but it will certainly be a pivotal mon for a while. edit: "pivotal" lol edit2: I think I made an overstatement about marowak. simply because it can do everything I mentioned doesn't mean its as amazing as I make it seem, though I do take back how it won't be a common post-bank mon simply because its niches are very nice to have as a pivot. -

I jsut think he had... literally nothing for the thing. He must not ahve had Whirlwind on Skarm since I'm... prett sure that goes through SUbs since early before you ahd like... 4 Coils that should've been able to phase it out, but he never switched from Gastro... depsite it only being able to two hit the subs. I dunno... it's probs a bit of both since Thousand Arrows is super strong lel. it's definitely helps Zygarde out a lot.

he went for bullet punch with mega meta despite the fact it would have more speed. He likely didn't know of the mega speed change so I can only conclude that he's pretty bad. That doesn't mean thousand arrows isn't fucking busted, it is. Literally any ice type move post breaking your sub could have done you in though. It's not that Zygarde is busted, it's the move that's busted.

Is it so strange that my favorite in game mechanic in pokemon is free space? that shit was so useful in gen 5 and I'm glad they brought it back
