  1. I presume the fossils are from the event in the Spinel Museum?
  2. You hit the spot. Thanks a lot for all of your posts, and this can be locked now that the problem is resolved. Thank you.
  3. Japanese or Chinese Characters can be typed here, for some reason. I guess the forums can process them. EG: 你好 which means Hello in Chinese. On topic, I've actually played older versions of this before, but I suppose I could give this a shot, although my mind's set on other games. No offense for derailing if I did.
  4. Okay, I've gotten really, really far since I've last touched this. So far that this post might be super long. I hope I don't get penalized for this or anything, but I'd like to give credit for Xiri for the pictures that exist on this. I apologize and know it's kind of rude and uncouth of me to kind of take this stuff without asking you about it beforehand, but I'll remove them if necessary. You could also check out his own playthrough which is a pretty interesting one at that. Azurine Island, in search of the Princess Going back from where I last was, Victoria instructs me to venture towards Azurine Island to search for the missing Cain. During which I pick up my Ground type which didn't even need to be sent out against Aya in the form of Seismitoad, since I thought I'd need it sooner or later against it. I first find Aster and Eclipse cornering me in a house, but despite the Double Battle, I managed an easy battle while maintaining all EVs. Eventually and true enough, I find Team Meteor's secret base with Cain and a Camerupt trapped, as I face Taka and do battle. Taka's most annoying Pokemon was that Gligar, given the bulk it had alongside Acrobatics that my team was very weak against at the moment, and it's tendencies to U-Turn further mess up my EV plans. Thankfully, capturing Seismitoad hit the spot at defeating Taka's Gligar whereas the rest was easy carry work for Infernape. Defeated, Taka and the part of the crew there depart, as Cain and I hasten back to Apophyll to halt Team Meteor's plans at Pyrous Mountain. Halting Apophyll's Crisis We return to the Academy as Victoria, worried of her teacher's fate as well as the safety of Apophyll, decides to join us to the peak of the mountain. Cain hurries off as Victoria sticks with me, being sweet and nice and as we finish off the last of the goons decides to become further obvious on her crush and intentions to confess to Cal, but little did she know that things were to change quite soon. We find Cal on the mountain alongside Taka and the Mysterious Solaris, with the PULSE Camerupt set up for the eruption that will destroy the island. Solaris instructs Taka, revealed to be his son, to distract Victoria whilst he faces me, arrogantly claiming that "he won't take more than a single Pokemon to defeat me." I endured the fact that how that this wasn't exactly a fair fight, a fight that I could win as it may, and promised in my heart that the next time we met I would bestow upon him a fate worse than death through my bitter resentment of him throughout the games, although I could have a change of heart as I get to know him later. He deserved it for the resets I did in so many runs before some episodes with new perks arrived. I may or may not want to kidnap him and torture him on a daily basis. Of course, his words did have their relevance considering I was facing off against a level 75 Garchomp whereas Solaris had 4 Full Restores to spare, which ruined my momentum quite significantly, especially considering how Toxic/Focus Sash Trubbish didn't work, and I thus ended up wasting it. I defeated him on the second try with clever revolving on the AI, though, as Masquerain left Garchomp sitting at -5 while sacrificing only Dunsparce and Eelektross as well as minor damage on Pawniard, before Gourgeist proceeded to stall it out with Leech Seed, and despite having very mild investment Garchomp just couldn't touch Gourgeist at -5 and when it had +1 Defense. I may or may not have used an X Defend to help things out. It's a shame that I lost my Focus Sash since it'd be better used elsewhere, but I suppose I would have a plan for the battle in which I should've used the Sash. As Solaris is defeated and as he expresses his denial, Kiki arrives to the scene to intervene and stop Team Meteor; sending out Medicham, she issues an attack only to be stopped by Cal's Magmortar, who throws KIki's Pokemon into the lava. As we all (well, except me, I know this was coming) watch in disbelief at Cal's betrayal, Solaris executes Kiki with his Garchomp, tearing her in two, which was a scene we last saw at Shade's gym (I thought it wasn't supposed to be still alive, though, I just beat it, didn't I). Cal, however, disapproves of Solaris' actions and turns on him by destroying the PULSE Camerupt with a seemingly hacked Magmortar Blast Burn. Solaris confronts Cal scornfully, mentioning his brother Blake and how he was right and in that he was "totally useless", and the fact that his reckless actions would not change that fact that his own teacher had died as a result of his own actions, before retreating. Victoria is anguished over Kiki's death but Cal's betrayal added salt to her wound, in her heart however knowing that her master died a death that was befitting of her greatness, dying to protect the place she loved until the very end. As we return to the Academy, Victoria decides to honor her master's place and stay, but denies me my badge although she provides me the Strength TM. Cain advises me to head to the Byxbysion Wasteland where her sister Aya resided in where I could pick up my badge and utilize Strength from her, knowing that we needed it to save the kidnapped children as soon as we could. Victoria provides us with her good wishes in that we would defeat the Reborn League, but at this point of time, we have other priorities. Gazing at my sweet female acquaintance a final time as I wondered where again in the game I would be able to see her again as well as the memories of this place that I had engraved in my heart, I departed to the Coral Ward with Cain towards the closed gates of the toxic Wasteland. The Byxbysion Wasteland Cain challenges me to a battle to test my ability before I can enter the Wasteland, as I oblige. It wasn't exactly a difficult match although Nidoking gave Infernape some minor scrapes and bruises, as Eelektross handled Samurott easily. Infernape did most of the easy carrying for the umpteenth time witht he exception of his Muk which I had saved for Pawniard. With the teams' combined efforts, it was another successful round as Cain finally provides me access to the Wasteland. I probably am not inclined to describe the fairly tedious process it took to reach the Gym, although if there's one thing that happened that was interesting it would be the battle with Mr.Biggles. Needless to say, level 65 was a huge amount and it had coverage moves like Drain Punch that meant Pawniard wouldn't have that easy of a field day. Managing to paralyze it with Eelektross' Spark as Masquerain sacrificed itself for an attack drop, a combination of Pawniard and Eelektross' attacks managed to defeat the Garbodor and his league of Scraggy. I'm sorry he missed his hug, though. That and I managed to pick up a whooping number of plates through mining, which was great considering I now had the Dread, Zap and Flame Plates for the three main aces. Seimitoad needless to say was holding the Earth Plate, as I wondered initially in which how I was to face Aya when my EVs were incomplete..... Wasteland Punk Aya I finally reach Aya's house as I meet her mother and discover Fern just defeating her. Hardy also arrives to the scene as I learn about some of their history and accepted the challenge of the arrogant green douche in battle. Honestly speaking, though, Infernape beat him 1-5 without effort. I must admit that I'd bought about 50 Common Candies for a reason though, and I'm grateful they're cheap as they are. With an exchange of snide comments from Hardy and him, Fern continues his really snarky and denial attitude and decides to watch "the battle between two noobs." Hardy became the referee of our match, although Aya admittedly wasn't that excited about it. Aya's match was far easier than I'd imagined it to be -- ironically, Pawniard killed every Pokemon on the field with the exception of Venusaur that was taken out by Infernape, and none of her Pokemon actually targeted her with the exception of Nidoqueen's hazard tactics that left it at a little over half left. Seismitoad had no action during this match, which was a shame but I promised myself I would give him a time to shine (well, or ditch him if he becomes totally unused at some point). I pick up Sludge Wave and the badge, as Aya also reveals to me of her past with Cain, as I head out in search for Cain and continue our rescue for the missing children. The Proceeded Rescue Before we proceed into this though, I actually fought the Kiki Specter as I got Strength, so let's see how that goes. I venture through places I don't know how to describe until I reached a dark room with a grave in it. I read the grave -- to discover Kiki's name? Suddenly, the spirit of Kiki appears and blames me, anguished and tormented of her death as she proceeds to threaten me with a dangerous level 65 Shiny Medicham. With a little luck, sacrificing slight damage on Pawniard and a death to Dunsparce managed to support Masquerain in bringing it down to -3, as Eelektross paralyzed and defeated it with a combination of Crunch + Thunderbolt. "Kiki" then exposes herself as a Misdreavus that intends to follow me, as I agree. I felt lucky that it had Destiny Bond, which would certainly help me in some pickles later on in the game. With that I return to the Railnet and find Cain there waiting, as the clear the debris necessary and we venture into the North Obsidia Ward, where the Yureyu Building lay. Within a tedious series of threats of guards slitting throats of Charlotte and Shelly, as well as a flashy stunt pulled off by the red-headed female, we manage to unlock the gates and rescue Shelly and Charlotte unscathed. We meet familiar Meteor Grunts revealing that they intend to reshape the world and in that it was Team Meteor who destroyed this place instead of the building collapsing to Earthquakes. The Electric Doctor As Charlotte intends to find a way to free Noel from his cage, Cain and I go upstairs to find the two younger girls, Heather and Anna, whom were accompanied by Dr.Sigmud and Sirius, respectively. Sirius being someone I want to tear limbs off twice as much as Solaris, I didn't want Cain to intervene so I could face him one on one later. After a series of conversation about the silenced Heather, Anna's Amethyst Pendant, and other weird stuff, Cain and I gang up on the doctor and duel. This wouldn't be such a bad battle if Pawniard wasn't limited to two kills. Nidoking coordinated considerably badly considering Pawniard had to take two powerful Discharges from Sigmund's Raichu, whilst Double Kick wasn't exactly doing enough to even 2HKO the Mouse. Luxray's Intimidate activated Defiant, though, which allowed me to easily OHKO Luxray and Electivire with Knock Off and Sucker Punch (soon to be RIP) respectively. This was where Seimistoad actually had a chance to shine for once, given that Mud Shot easily handled his Pokemon apart from Rotom and Eelektross. That said, Muddy Water still managed to deal decent chunks and we won the battle. Defeated, the doctor surprisingly leaves us alone as we retrieve Heather, not even calling for backup or something -- but perhaps they're out of support. We head upstairs to find Sirius marauding Anna's Amethyst Pendant, as the Doctor and him have a short argument before they retreat, satisfied that they had acquired what they wanted. I noticed the key at the corner of the room and -- realizing it would prove helpful -- took it and ran away with the kids. Running and in Hiding As we reached the formerly blocked door near the stairs to the ward, opened by the key, we found ourselves in a confusing, destroyed train puzzle. With hints from Shelly, clearing this puzzle after examining the entire area, including taking important items such as stickers and the move tutor key, I successfully managed to open the gate blocking our way as we escape out. Charlotte guides us throughout the mountainous journey of Tanzan Mountain and the hidden Cove where her sister Laura stayed, offering us temporary refuge. Anna remains sick, however, although she still insists that it's Nostra that's sick, as I am enquired to go to Spinel Town and pick up the Medicine necessary to cure her current illness. The Bewildering Chrysolia Forest, and the secluded Spinel Town The road to Spinel Town requires me to pass through the complicated forestry of Chrysolia. What's odd isn't the thickness of the Forest, but rather -- how everything teleports and disappears left and right. The puzzle really screwed with my head at first, but with time, I managed to reach Spinel Town. There were a few things to do here, but notably I can't pick up the Medicine I need since the PokeMart teleported to the balcony of the Gym. As of now, I just picked up my sticker from the injured girl event. I'd leave my current team here, but I'll save it for my next post that talks about the Bennett/Serra battles after I finish work/EVing. I'll need advice since my team isn't that well established at the moment, but stay tuned for the next post!
  5. Umineko? I'm don't know, but if you're one for guessing games and suspense it's pretty rewarding.
  6. Pick up Water Pledge in Lapis Ward for Greninja. It's more powerful than Water Pulse and can put out Fires, but it's generally up to you if you favour Water Pulse's confuse hax or something. Keep your Dragalge healthy; Dragalge's superior Special Defense should provide P-Z with an Attack boost instead of a Special Attacking one,and it should have enough bulk to survive a few hits and Toxic stall/wear it down with Attacks. Alternatively, Hi Jump Kick from Scrafty should suffice in dealing strong damage if not OHKO it. If you don't change your Azumarill's ability to Huge Power I can clearly say that your team really doesn't stand a chance against that Altaria. You should pick up a Steel type for this such as Bisharp, Klinklang or Metagross to deal with it, or a bulky Ice type like Walrein, or fast ones like Weavile; they're generally more frail, though, and Weavile needs Icicle Crash to actually have a chance of OHKOing it, which is why picking up Steel types is easier.
  7. I've been feeling a little chill lately, so enjoy some Ice type rankings. There are a few things I'd like to vary opinion/disagree with on the current rankings, though. Avalugg Ability: Sturdy/Icy Rock Item: Icicle Plate/Leftovers (again, confusion on item existence) Moves: Avalanche, Ice Fang, Recover, Crunch, Bulldoze, Gyro Ball, Sharpen. Ranking: B Avalugg stands as that typical protoype where your physical stats and HP are through the roof where it's other stats suck elsewhere. That said, 184 Defense and 95 HP is still pretty damn stupid, and you'd find yourself not being phazed by even super effective physical hits depending on investment. This physical bulk is better than titans like Tangrowth's and Skarmory's and is the strongest among all Ice types, although Ice is a bad defensive typing in general. I'd argue that it's cons outweigh it's pros despite the fact that it also has offensive presence since it's ridiculously squishy to Fire type attacks, and thus can only act as an effective pivot against physical Pokemon. That said, moves such as Sharpen and Recover help it considerably in maintaining longevity or overall damage output. Ice monoruns needing an effective physical tank should no further after the big glacier, but one desiring more balanced defensive Ice types should probably go for something else. Aurorus Ability: Snow Warning Item: Icicle Plate/Leftovers Moves: AncientPower, Ice Beam, Frost Breath, Freeze-Dry, Hidden Power Fire/Ground, Discharge, Thunder Wave, Light Screen, Blizzard, Rock Polish. Ranking: A Aurorus, like Abomasnow, possesses the all-important Snow Warning, which allows it to support itself and teammates in addition to forming a strong hail core alongside the snowman itself. Aurorus is different from it in the sense that it possessing a neutrality to Fire and a Flying type resistance, but otherwise has a far more vulnerable defensive typing due to it's weaknesses to Grass, Ground and Water attacks that Abomasnow comfortably resists. Aurorus' capabilities are not limited to offense and can also support with Thunder Wave or Light Screen. Aurorus can also fix it's speed issues with Rock Polish and attempt a sweep, with it's movepool consisting of the rare AncientPower and Discharge it can abuse, as well as possessing the second strongest Freeze-Dry over Vanilluxe, a move that Ice types rarely have to combat Water-type despite it's access to Discharge. Despite all these pros, it is generally inferior to Abomasnow defensively although it superior offensively which detracts from it's ability to sustain Hail. Until it gets Refrigerate Echoed Voice or Hyper Voice I'll probably leave it at A.
  8. I'd actually recommend Seismitoad over Quagsire, but if you're more of a fan of Earthquake or something like Unaware, that's fine too. I'd argue that Seimistoad's ability to go offensive or defensive as well as a more reliable Water move might pique your fancy, though.
  9. Not sure what the best tags are, but I can say that I've tried it before. Of course if you could link me to a specific thread with answers I would be extremely grateful. I'll try and reattempt the situation, then. It's a shame it'll take that long so RIP Cottonee, but thanks. Bennett's room hides a bookshelf instead of the cabinet, unless that is to say they're two items inside it?
  10. So, after defeating Serra, I'm stuck with a few problems. First of all, there's this event with the girl and the Kadabra where you need to find all her furniture. I'm not sure what rewards with this, but I want to finish it either way. I could be blind, but I've found all items apart from the Cabinet; I've checked every relevant place I could. Next off there's this sticker event with the medicine. This event didn't appear at all during my journey back and forth during my journey in the Forest, even during clear weather. Now that I've beaten Serra, I'm not sure if it's available again. There's also a hole near the Forest blocked by the tree, although I'm not sure where that leads. As a side note, how early does one get to Route 4? Thanks in advance.
  11. Intensify Steel type Base Power: 30 Per Hit Accuracy: 95% PP: 10 Physical The user descends upon the target and rapidly slashes thrice in quick succession. This attack always goes first. Hits thrice, has +1 priority. Available through move tutor. Pokemon that have access to this move: Bisharp Scizor
  12. I can relate to how your team has a considerable weakness against her, either through type advantage or your Pokemon literally being unable to do enough to the big avian. You'd generally want a Steel type for this job; any reasonably powerful Steel type such as Metagross, Klinklang or Bisharp will suffice. While Poison types also work, they generally aren't as bulky as Steel types are, and will take a beating from Earthquake or even Hyper Voice due to the field effects. Weavile and Mamoswine can probably deal the hurt with Icicle Crash, as can Abomasnow's Blizzard. While I'd honestly doubt it'd kill, an Icicle Plate or something would probably help you ace more damage.
  13. At long last, things were about to begin. Debronee briefly counted the amount of contestants in his mind, wondering for a moment if "contestants" was the most appropriate term to address those that would partake in this alongside him. There were about seven to eight of them in the hall, but would there be more? They weren't allies -- rivals, rather, people he needed to fight, perhaps -- to earn his answers, his clarity. Beneath each differing exterior belied skill, pasts and capability of a varying essence -- above all, they were people who, like him, chose this path somehow, and the silver-haired boy recognized that, in a way -- they were all special. Debronee swiveled his eyes at the ones beside him. Debronee wasn't one to judge people under such a circumstance, but he couldn't help but wonder how they felt as they were here -- calm faces, like his own, could hide excitement, uneasiness, disgust or any other emotion they could only relate to their lives and stories, that of which only they and perhaps the Lord of Sorrows know of. Debronee himself didn't facade any emotion behind his own face, though, apart from his curiosity, which inevitably everyone in the hall had to some extent. And for moments he decided not to ponder on or count he seated himself and waited unblinkingly in his chair.
  14. Tynamo is now an available early-game grab in one of the Sound Peridot Alleyways during thunderstorms.
  15. [Dear me, I'm late for this....] Debronee surveyed the new vicinity around him. Entering first to a place where only violet quilted his surroundings, he was led to a very nicely furnished room of black and white. Helmeted, armor-clad servants stood near the door -- Debronee knew they would obey any command he desired within reason, but at this point of time, he wanted to find out on his own. There was a slight wavering in that his servants inevitably would know what was to come, but there was only silence for endless moments in his room. Time passed as if it was stationary -- his mind was empty for that moment, and after mingling amidst the maze of doubt under the unknown, dimensional journey, he needed his rest and relaxation; nor was his mind impatient for things to proceed quickly, knowing that his very existence and presence in this place was enough to quell his restlessness and save his answers to his unusually insatiable curiosity to experience. His first thought as his empty mind formed thoughts and philosophies after deep meditation was that the Lord of Violet had turned out to be the Lord of Sorrows himself. It didn't exactly take the half-elf by surprise, as he wondered only of whether violet itself was the best color to symbolize the very meaning of melancholy, the meaning of the halls themselves, akin to the colour the cloaked figure wore as he first met him, akin to his first sight in these halls. One servant suddenly approached Debronee with a missive, opting him to sign it. Apparently, he needed to if he wanted to continue. Debronee took a slight glance at the suit of armor -- an empty shell that moved and obeyed -- before he proceeded to read the contents silently, his eyes slowly examining every word and comprehending whatever was written on it. Was there a price? A trap? Something he couldn't go back to? His cautious instinct continued to linger even in this equanimous place. Yet nothing on it had any meaning he wanted -- it was as simple as to do or die, nothing more, or less. As his eyes and mind synced and absorbed the final details of the missive, his caution melted into what seemed to be a surrendering flag to his current circumstances, as he finalized his decision, placing his signature on where the space was prepared for it. This best be good for me, his mind sighed.
  16. It can both be bred and tutored, although the only Pokemon to my knowledge you can pass it by is Corsola.
  17. Not sure how appropriately I want to justify this, but after using Seismitoad over other options as a bulky Water, I kinda want to make a ranking for it here. Seismitoad Ranking: (in both Ground and Water) A- Ability: Swift Swim/Water Absorb Moves: Muddy Water, Surf, Hydro Pump, Earth Power, Sludge Wave, Grass Knot, Rain Dance Seismitoad is unique as a Ground/Water type in that is the only one apart from Quagsire and Gastrodon that has an ability that nullifies Water attacks. However, Seismitoad is still superior to place in a teamslot for a couple of reasons. Although it cannot Recover unlike the former two, Seismitoad possesses a sufficient movepool that isn't TM reliant allowing it have pretty strong coverage. Another saving grace (counting tutors now) is Seismitoad's access to Stealth Rock. While not the best in a Ground mono, it's pretty nice to have on a Water mono. This is complemented by the fact that Seismitoad can be run as either an offensive or defensive force, given the versatility its abilities provide and good all-rounded stats to abuse them, unlike Quagsire, Gastrodon and even Swampert that is limited to basically one main role (until we get Swampertite, of course). As such, I'd argue Seismitoad is still the most useful amongst all Water/Grounds in relation to Bacon's post, recognizing of course that Seismitoad still has inferior bulk to Swampert, but that's compensated with the option of a Water immunity. Also, the fact that a lot of available tutors aren't listed in the rankings I would like to bring up. I made a thread asking about them and apparently all available tutors canonically are also available in 7th street, I guess, so that's a lot of options that are missing from the rankings. I could be wrong.
  18. Kuna, my brain is struggling to delay to whenever the hell we reach the Halls, lf update. Well, I understand if you want more of it first but, you know.
  19. "So it seems." Debronee uttered, silent as the falling rain. Debronee felt his curiosity dissipate slightly. The inquisitive site of him shifted to a more philosophical, pondering state, knowing that his answers were now best given to him when the reached the halls....whenever they would reach the destination. The journey started to grow mildly tedious, but Debronee remained silent, and patient, occupying himself with thought. I am a shadow of my former self, he wondered. Here to redeem something, given a purpose I do not know for now -- only ahead, in this unknown place, the Halls of Sorrow, and within the Clash of Fates -- would I find out. "What belies in the halls we are to destine?" He finally succumbed and allowed his thoughts to be expressed through his lips and asked, perhaps the final question he would ask, throughout his strange, vague journey with the Lord. "The strife of battle and war? The epitome where the bitter sorrow of memories belie? And the Clash of Fates -- it appears I'm not the only one. At least, perhaps -- what a number of opponents, duel if I must, need I conquer to which this invitation has seemingly led me to?" Perhaps words alone could not clarify him, as Debronee hoped that his answer would be awaited him soon ahead.
  20. After countless searching I've not seen a thread asking about this, so I guess why not. Well, so to speak, I've seen a few tutors left and right before like Icy Wind/Drill Run (Not sure) and the like. To that end, I'm not exactly sure about the availability of these special move tutors in Reborn, and I don't want to take a lot of time breeding for something that can be obtained via tutor. In any case, though, is anyone aware of what tutors currently exist, or are they entirely canonical to the official games? Thanks in advance.
  21. I've already modified it your way before I noticed this, but thanks. I kind of want the emphasis that the Lord is giving my character most if not all of the clarity he needs, I suppose, but I suppose touching on the Lord himself is going a bit too far.
  22. My apologies. Sorry about that. I kinda know we're not supposed to modify other characters out of our own will yet, but thought such a gesture was a mild one. I thought it was fine given the presumed permission to put our own quotes on the the Lord of Violet himself (for instance Neville's post), although I understand the difference. I wanted to relate it, I guess. I guess I'll change it, although telling me how would probably be better.
  23. Debronee had yet to comprehend the meaning behind his existence there. The only thing he knew now was to obey and follow the cloaked Lord. That was the only thing he could do. "Guide me." He whispered. It was a genuine plea. "I will follow, without objection." With a slight gesture, Debronee followed the Lord on the seemingly empty journey to the unkwown destination. There was only another array of endless silence. "If I must fight, I but require a weapon." Debronee suddenly said. "A blade." It wasn't until then he realized something was strapped on his back all this while. A sheathe. Debronee removed the sword concealed within it. It was one of ancient heritage, with a recognizable silver mark and dark sapphire at the pommel. He grasped the view of the sword with mild astonishment. My father's sword. The Ka'Gul Blade. He thought. Debronee examined the edge of the blade's keen tip. None of it's battle scars had been tarnished and scarred, the very remains of history. For once, Debronee's blade was also empty of the thick, metallic stench of sanguine that would linger even if after he cleaned the scarlet off the sharp edges. "I'd implanted this beside my master's grave as I struggled to die -- the same blade I killed my own grandfather with. Yet why would that be with me now?" He also realized that this was the only person apart from Donovac that he'd actually had some form of conversation, even if it was slight, devoid of his usual silent and taciturn demeanor. Perhaps he had succumbed to this own plight, at this point.
  24. Well, you know. The presumptions about the Lord in Violet interested in Debronee's heritage thing. It might come across as rude/slightly Mary-Sue. That or I'm just too subconscious.
  25. Sorry if my second post in the IC was...rude, Hukuna. Hope it's not out of character either, since it could've come across as arrogant.
