  1. Actually, the template is more for the newer people who are creating an RP. I remember even when I was writing one I was like, "where the heck to I start?" I kind of copied Ymoras for anything I needed to make sure to include. I'm only doing general stuff in the template and a more detailed example of how to use it. I'll do that sometime late tonight.
  2. Well there are few things you want to establish. Interest Checks are generally shorter versions of a sign-ups sheet giving usually only enough info to have players understand what they would be signing up for or perk interests. While there is no standard, the more info in an interest check usually the better. Here's what should be included in a Sign-ups: Overview: Generally, you want to hook your audience in best you can. This is usually a paragraph to try and explain what the idea you're trying to bring to life is. While not so important in fan-fictional worlds, it is very important when introducing something new. This is a stable to all Sign-ups The World: Right from the get-go, all the players see is an empty space. A host should try to best describe this to better help the setting. Is the story set in a paradise or an apocalyptic wasteland. Every little bit you add to this section, the better. It's the meat that can make or break an RP. A paragraph for this section at the least. Gameplay/Characters: It's always nice to know what the characters are going to be like or doing. Length of this one varies depending on the design. Story/Setting: This category almost always tie in with the world even to the point they can be combined. Not all RPs have a story, but that's alright. Sometimes a bit of history or extra info in needed to fully understand the world. *** As for Sign-Ups, the template is very, very close if not the exact same. If you haven't already, you'll want to fully flesh out the topics mentioned above and add everything needed for players to jump into this world. As for length, there's no exact length, but the more the better. Rules and a Sign-ups template should be included here to make it easier on everyone. Here's my basic template for Sign-ups: Title: Introduction: [Generally I include a little bit of story to lure people in] Who are you?: [AKA what players will be doing in the world] Setting: [Depending on the idea, this can have a lot of different sub-catagories] World/Region Races History/Conflict NPC Bios: [Completely Optional, but recommended] Additional Info: [RPs vary greatly so we can never have a perfect template] Rules: [There are basic one and ones that you create] Sign-ups Template: [Vary from RP to RP, but usually include Name, Gender, Age, Physical Description, Personality, and Backstory] Accepted PCs: [Players you have accepted into the world] (Note: This order is not concrete and can be shuffled around, but it's a good way to leave a good impression on Players interested in the idea.)
  3. The coordinator kept making his way out to the field where he noticed Danielle nearby. Great. Just when I thought I could finally get away from everybody. He ignored her continuing to his training spot. When he arrived, he turned to look at his Pokemon. "Alright, I was about to prepare Paradox to see what she can do, but now that Zuko's back, I'll do a quick match to see what he's got. Techie you're going to be..." Henry looked over at the Rotom who seemed quite uninterested in this training session. He knew he couldn't get that Rotom to obey him, so he stopped in fear of him running off again. "How about you just stay there and not get into trouble? Burrows, you'll be Zuko's partner. It's been a while, but you should still know what to do. Rosie and Gypsy, you'll be on my side. There are some new tricks I need to teach." The boy then pulled out his Pokedex for a second. "Good. It seems you remembered Poisonpowder like I asked yesterday. Everyone, get into position." Henry stood at one side of the field. He picked this spot specifically based on the tree and rock locations. It wasn't perfect, but he was able to make an outline of the borders like on an official field. The said Pokemon then got ready picking a certain side to stand on. Paradox did her usual thing and sat near the border to watch the battle. Zuko looked over at Rosie. The two hadn't faced each other in a long time. The only faced each other once when they first met where he was destroyed by that Skitty. Things were a bit different as he was much stronger than before. Burrows felt a similar way against Gypsy. No matter how hard he tried, Gypsy always managed to beat him. The coordinator stood there a moment ready to analyze every movement. That's the one use of teaching Pokemon to fight without orders, you can study without thinking about what attacks to shout out next. Everyone but Burrows already had the capability so he did have to give commands to the Drilbur. Funny how even my own Pokemon have a bit of rivalry with each other. I, on the other hand, don't have any rivals. Just enemies. "Begin!" The four Pokemon heard the words ready to clash.
  4. (Keeping this alive) Yeah, I know this has been a little dormant for a while, but there's been a few things keeping me busy such as Episode 15's Beta. I'll probably have sign ups open close to Friday though. All I really need to do now is layout the main town (though that's easier said then done). The place is pretty big...like Colony 9 big which is what's taking a while.
  5. I just finished Symphonia, now onto Dawn of the New World.
  6. King Cold - Glalie The Glalie was about to say something when he saw the Crygonal he sent on a special mission approach him. "The bloody hell you doing here. I sent you on a mission to protect the queen. Tell me your report and get back pronto." "Actually, the queen sent me to give you a request. It's about Artemis. Due to the circumstances that have risen, she doesn't her or anyone else to get involved with the Groudon event that has risen. Should a problem arise, she and the remaining men will take care of it," responded the Crygonal. "Now if you excuse me, I must return to my mission." "Hold on...something seems different about you. Did you sharpen your flakes?" asked the King. "No, nothing like that. It's nothing you should concern yourself with though." The Crygonal's voice sounded a little eerie, but the king ignored it watching his subject fly back. King Cold then looked over to Artemis. "You heard the Queen's words, but regardless there's something I must do. This swordsman you spoke of, take me to him." He then turned to the two other commanders. "Keep the army moving forward. I will meet you when the army reaches land." Artemis did not know where the swordsman ran off, but she feared punishment from the king so she said nothing. She flew back up into the air creating another Tailwind while a Glalie followed close behind her.
  7. That's not entirely true. Even when the two can understand one another, pride and loyalty can get in their way. Then again, there's Henry who is basically Mareek's opposite at this point. Speaking of which, I finally decided to divide the reserves into two branches depending on what Henry becomes in the future.
  8. Henry stopped for a moment hearing James say something to him. He didn't turn around, but still decided to respond. "I see all of you fail to understand what has happened to Mareek. Pokemon are nothing more than servants trained to obey their masters, but people tend to use the word trainer to make it sound friendlier. Whenever something happens to the servant, like death, it is the master who blames himself for what had happened. The events keep haunting him again and again trying to think of what he could've done to stop it. That is not the end of it." Henry stood there looking at the door while speaking. Whether his words were really what was on Mareek's mind, he did not know. He never experienced death of someone close, but in a way it felt like it. "The pain can be too much and the master may not wish to relive it. Some just keep doing what they have and pray it doesn't happen to begin. Others seeing as it is their own fault...shackle themselves in fear of the monster that they are. What will Mareek become after this? I don't not know, but he will be different than he was for better or worse." Henry silenced for a moment once more. "Hmm, I've wasted a good five minutes of training trying to explain these things to you. I don't even know why I bother because it doesn't make a difference anyways. Adios." This time, the boy really did walk away from the group. He reached the door finally opening it and reaching the grasses outside. There was something he needed to do now that Zuko rejoined the group once more. He didn't want to waste any time with the drama going on in this school. There was another reason too. A better reason to get away. Henry felt that something bad was unfolding and Java was likely only the beginning. He didn't want to be anywhere nearby if something were to happen like the Donphan Stampede.
  9. Don't worry about the new Pokemon. There's only one that you probably cannot do unless you start a new game (it's none of the starters though). I do recommend completing all the event Pokemon so that you don't accidentally miss anything.
  10. Let's see what old Commander can pull out to recommend Gamecube: LoZ Wind Waker Tales of Symphonia Paper Mario: TTYD Fire Emblem: PoR Super Mario Sunshine Pikmin 1 and 2 Metroid Prime 1 or 2 Pokemon Colosseum and XD Sonic Adventure 2 Luigi's Mansion Mystic Heroes Baeten Kaitos Origins (Can't Spell this one) Skies of Arcadia LoZ Four Swords Adventure Wii Okami Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 LoZ Skyward Sword Kirby Return to Dreamland Xenoblade Chronicles (there's an HD patch for it) Last Story Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Super Paper Mario LoZ Twilight Princess (though I didn't care for this one) Muramasa: The Demon Blade Animal Crossing: City Folk
  11. Yuki is a very complicated and very, very demanding character (more than King Cold). She isn't going to make an official appearance until 2 or 3 chapters later so...not sure if you wanna do that one. If you want to do her, you're only going to make very few posts a chapter which is why I don't recommend her. As for the creepiness, I hate to say it, but something like that only happens one other time. If you still want to play her, be prepared for a massive text wall of what she is and is going to do.
  12. I'll include more stuff for Commanders to do after a little while. I wasn't sure how Permafrost was going to turn out so I had to plan stuff for one or two people to do. If you want, I can let you take control of Yuki, King Cold, Artemis, or Enkidu. Just know I have plans for them if you do.
  13. "Bah, I'm not in the mood for a sob scene or lamenting these things. If they die, they die. There's nothing you can do to bring them back so there's not point in thinking about it." Henry was getting tired of all the silent and lament going around. "It's probably obvious, but I was a trainer before joining the coordinator program here. Death is just one of those ugly truths you have to learn to accept along the path." The boy then decided he had enough leaving the other boys to keep discussing. All he wanted to do is train right now. The silence was much needed after all the drama that had unfolded.
  14. King Cold (Glalie) The King was a bit annoyed by the quake but a simple blast from an ice beam froze the incoming wave headed his way. This wouldn't be the first time they've had earthquake problems. "If this was within my power, I would have forbade Artemis on the journey. While being one of my best, she is a mere infant compared the beasts of legend that we speak of. If this commander is so desperately needed for your goals, you must be given permission from either the Captain or the Queen herself. It's one of those balance things in order for the Kingdom to get involved in affairs." "Sir, I couldn't locate the captain on my trip so he is currently missing. Once we return, I will request a search party for this high ranking member," responded Artemis. "As for the current situation, there is very little likelihood a conflict will arise due to the circumstances. All nearby Kingdoms will likely feel threatened due to the recent disasters and wish to remove the threat in front of them first before continuing the conflict. If they do not, there is an 85% chance of dire consequences happening to many Kingdoms increasing their chance of defeat." "Well...guess you have to go find the queen. She usually sticks around in the forbidden lands, but she should be at my castle by now. The only one here that can get involved without her permission is myself, but the only way I'm getting involved is if that thing tries destroying my Kingdom." The Glalie then turned to mumble something. "Damn legendaries think they can do whatever they want."
  15. Wartortle is the only water Pokemon I know that can KO the Cradily, but I think there are other Pokemon that can fight the Breloom such as Ducklett and a certain other Pokemon is moved back to Ep 1. I can attest to this because I defeated Pre-Nerf Florinia with a Wartortle. It was hard as hell though.
  16. It honestly depends on your team. I don't use builds and I pretty much can fly by any challenge (including Solaris's Garchomp, Arceus and Such). Mastering the battle system will certainly get you farther than a single moveset. Can't recommend moves, but definitely have a teammate with Bulldoze around. It'll help outspeed threats and Pokemon with huge level differences that can OHKO Lucario should you need to use him/her. Very underrated move that let me win some of the really difficult fights.
  17. The episode is in the beta stage so it'll be out in a week or two. Wish I could say something else, but...I'm under oath. As for the Axew and Drilbur...it's complicated.
  18. Ehhh...I'm sure a lot of Xenoblade fans are going to be extremely disappointed in X's storyline. When you look at the Xeno series as a whole, Blade is the game who's story is really out of left park. From what I've seen, this game gives me more of a Xenosaga vibe which had a storyline not for everyone. This game definitely resembles more of a Xeno title than blade, but I'm so glad they kept Blade's battle system because that one curbstomps what the other ones. The only thing we don't know is the voice acting. Xenoblade just kept the European so all we have to judge on is the Xenosaga series which didn't age too well. I'm not an expert of voice acting, but if it's kept to at least that level, the dub might actually be pretty good. I will say that Chrispin Freeman playing Albedo is quite a memorable show. Even if you don't want to play the game, just youtube Ma Belle Peche because that's what hooked me into the series. Here's probably one of the few spoiler free (you have no idea how hard that is in a Xeno game) videos of what to expect the english to sound like.
  19. Wait...we didn't murder azery yet...oh wait nevermind. We're doing that next chapter.
  20. "What's the matter? Looks like you've seen a ghost." Henry looked over seeing Techie trying to scare the boy. "...It's a figure of speech, Techie. Besides, ghost boy here probably tried that on him already." He then noticed how quiet the two became. "Honestly, if you two are just going to stand there rather quietly, I'll just be on my way. As I said, it's probably a good idea to get away from here while you still can. You've heard the nasty things that circulated about me when I swapped Zuko out. I imagine it's going to be worse for Mareek. Much worse." He moved away from the two boys when he noticed Jacob and Robert. "Geeze, you idiots all seem to flock together every time something bad happens. Didn't think news traveled that fast."
  21. Sorry about the delay. I had a few things I had to take care of today beforehand. And that was the short version of my post. Actually, I consider that length to be standard length for an RP. (Probably because I can write a lot).
  22. Artemis (Articuno) - 30 minutes Ago The blue bird flew through the air gazing upon nearby areas seeing if war was breaking. She didn't see anything in particular when an array of rocks were headed her way. She flew up a bit higher to dodge them when out of nowhere the rocks followed floating up a bit more before knocking the bird out of the sky. As the bird saw the ground closely approaching she noticed a Pokemon nearby wearing a mask. Seeing as no one else was around, it was undoubtedly this was her attacker. When she was in range, she flapped her wings to release a powerful windstorm causing everything nearby to be tossed around like leaves. The bird regained her flight pattern and noticed the 'mon was completely unscathed. It is impossible I missed. He was too close to me to dodge an attack powerful like that...he also didn't use a move or I would've noticed. Is he really that strong? "You're kind is not welcome here!" yelled the Masked Mon. "Go back to the mountains where you belong you uh...demon ice bird thingy." Artemis responded to this strange foe using her dull voice. "I cannot do that. The mountains belong to the Sky Kingdom, an enemy which my king has declared war on. You're assumption that I am one of them is excusable as I have similar functions to their soldiers, but I am recognized as one of the Kingdom of Permfrost. Also, I am not considered a de..." "Bah! You talk to much," interrupted the masked man. "My head is about to explode. An enemy of my enemy is good enough for me. Name your price." "I am not here to hire a mercenary, nor could I. All negotiations for assistance outside of our native homeland must be approved by the king. Currently, he does not feel the need for questionable assitance from an unreliable resource. The likelyhood of him accepting to pay you is less than 1%." Artemis looked over to see the masked pound one of his fists into the ground causing it to shake. "So we have a tough guy here. Who does he think he is? King of the world," yelled the mon. "Actually he plans..." "I know! He just needs a demonstration. Then he'll be begging me to join his cause. I heard rumors there was a foreign kingdom headed this way. He'll watch as I take them all out without a single blade. Such a feet would impress even me, the mighty Gilgamesh. Strongest swordsman in all the land. Bwahaha!" And with that the masked mon ran off. "After analyzing the target, his intelligence seems to be below average, but his strength seems to match the strength of a commanding unit. I must inform the king of my findings." Artemis flew off heading back to the ice bridge. King Cold (Glalie) - Current Time "What the bloody hell is he doing on my bridge," yelled King Cold to the Raikou. "I hope you have a very good reason to stop me on this very important mission. I could have..." "Sir! I have urgent news," The Articuno flew down to where the others went in. "A powerful swordsman who's strength is equal to that of my own wishes to join our alliance. His intended target is the Permafrost army headed into the western land." "Artemis, did you eat some Rare Candy before we left?" Asked King Cold. "No sir. You told me when I was young not to accept candy from strangers." King Cold just looked at her for a moment. "I'm surrounded by idiots," he muttered under his breath so that no one could hear. He then turned to the rest of the group. "Now that Artemis is here, what is it that you wanted to speak about?"
  23. I agree with this. You have to remember Sky added to the story of Time/Darkness which was really what fleshed out the guild characters (let's be honest here and say that Armaldo > Practically all the guild in time/darkness). Gates's story would've been much better if they actually used a framework more along Explorers. The characters were all pretty good (and Hydreigon was well done and easily surpasses Gardevoir from Rescue and ties with Grovyle in Explorers). Gameplay of Gates was terrible...just straight up terrible due to the graphics. As for the title, I have no idea what to think. "Super" has hurt series before...especially in the RPG terms. Super Paper Mario, while not a bad game, pretty much started the demise of one of my favorite series. You have no idea how many times I've played through Paper Mario (at least 8). I won't say anything about story, but I'm sure that's going to be up to par with the others because this series would've died without it. There is one thing I'm concerned about is the dungeon designs. Gates decided to drop the room sizes and cut them in half which made every dungeon feel the same (along with what felt like only 30 Pokemon to fight in total). Dungeons seemed to drag on more in Gates compared to the other games. Job requests really should just take a step back to a secondary system where you get items you need to take down insane bosses. Now just imagine Primal Dialga with that one ability that can let him survive many final blows like Kyurem and the Munna gang could. I have very mixed feelings for this game so I will wait to see what people say.
  24. You're still older than me, gramps even though there's like a year difference in our ages
  25. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon...the title of the game makes me cringe a bit.
