The Awakened - First Pillar (IC Thread)
Jory replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Lux smiled at the man, giving him a firm handshake and thinking quickly. I need to get as much information out of him as I can in this conversation. He's already opened up the topic of the Department. I'll have to go from there. "You certainly know how to throw an exceptional event, Mr. Taylor. And congratulations on your new post." Here goes, Lux thought to himself. "You know I've heard all the rumors and conjecture about your department, but I think it's important to get information right from the source. What's your department's specialty?" -
Dru raised his hand in the air, quieting the murmuring of the group. He looked each of them in the eye, establishing his need for their undivided attention. "The Shattered Hills are not a place where survival is a given. It is earned here. As such you must be sure to be on your guard. And as simply as that, we begin our journey," he said with a warm smile, beginning to lead the group out of the town and onto the road going South.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Jacob followed the group along, texting one of his friends from home all the while. It'd been a long time since he'd been back to Accumula Town and he had begun to miss the friends he'd made what seemed like eternities ago. I should visit sometime, he thought to himself. He shook his head, quickly dismissing the notion. There will be time for that later. Right now I need to focus on doing well in school. -

Jacob smiled at Danielle and Slade, averting his eyes slightly. Although the fresh wound still smarted, he was finding it easier and easier as the day progressed to see either of them. I need to make sure I can handle myself. Maybe now would be a good time for a test run, he thought to himself, picking up Teo and stroking the Trapinch's head. "Hey guys, if you don't mind I think I'll tag along to see the labs. After all, I can't very well go back to my room if Kage and Ryan are going to be there," he said, trying not to think too hard about the last part of his statement. -
Dru looked around and closed his eyes, asking the Earth what was near him. It felt good to be home again. The Earth's call felt more natural to him here. No darkness lying in wait and nothing tainting the Earth. Just the ground he'd learned on all those years ago. No danger, he concluded. At least not in our immediate vicinity. The half-Orc nodded to Helzebeth, mirroring her sentiment. "Agreed. The less time we are here the better. However, we must get supplies first. I do not think anyone in town will attack us, but nonetheless we must keep our guard up. Then we can begin our journey to Farreach," he said with a smile that the others had not seen on him yet. It's good to be home, he thought to himself.

Do me! And a reason

Dru chuckled at Sigurd's attempt a humor, putting a hand on the Templar's shoulder. "Friend, we will head to Farreach soon enough. Why don't you take a little time to relax while we still can? Once we hit the road we'll have to be on guard at all times. There's no telling what Orcs, Goblins, or Dire Wolves might try to take advantage of a group like ours." He then looked around and put his tongue to his finger, feeling the direction of the wind. "The weather should hold for us until we begin our journey. We must travel South a great ways to the center of the Shattered Hills where we will find the city of Farreach."

Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]

Jacob nodded, making sure to remember everything Professor Cadmus was telling him. Wow! He's so knowledgeable! he thought to himself, continually impressed by the Dragon master. Maybe he'll have an idea for another Pokemon for my team! "Professor, I was wondering if there were any types in particular I should consider for my team. We seem to have Rock, Fire, Steel, Electric, and Dragons on the run, but we're pretty weak to Ice- and Grass-types." Jacob thought for a moment, snapping his fingers as he realized something. "Maybe I should get a Fire-type! They're good ranged fighters, and strong from an early stage to boot!" he said excitedly, awaiting input from Devin. -

Jacob beamed at Professor Cadmus's praise of Teo. "Wow! Thanks, Professor! I'll be sure to keep training hard with him!" he gushed excitedly, unable to prevent words from tumbling out. "Sometimes when we train I like to focus mostly on Speed because I figure no other Dragon can match a Flygon in quickness! Teo's attack power is really coming along, but I'll make sure we keep what you said in mind. Teo really wants to evolve, isn't that right buddy?" he said, smiling at the Trapinch. He then looked back up at Professor Cadmus. "Once he becomes a Vibrava, we'll be able to work in more combination attacks like Dragonbreath and even Bug Buzz! That way Sand Tomb won't be the only way we can take down targets from range," he continued. He then blushed quickly, remembering himself. "Sorry to ramble. You're one of the Trainers that I've always worked hard to be like and to have you teaching me is a huge honor!" -
Ebola used to kill people too quickly for it to spread. it would just wipe out a village and then with no hosts the local population would die out. This one kept people alive long enough for people to give a shit about saving them, so they'd spread it trying to give care.

Dru nodded, pulling his hood over his head once more. "Thank you for the warning, friend. I had hoped that I had done enough for this land that I would be able to walk without hiding my face. Evidently I have yet to make the Shattering Hills safe enough for that to occur," he said solemnly, bowing to the dockworker. "I think we should be fine without a guide. I have called this land my home for many years. It would not reflect well on me if I could not even get from here to Farreach, now would it?" he said, his tone quickly changing back to his more jovial one.

If we're talking weird Pokemon, why not grab a Gulpin? Swalot is literally just a moving stomach anyway.

Dru brusquely pushed aside the sailors in his path, striding down the gangplank of the ship and arriving on the dock. As he arrived, he drew back his hood, revealing a face that was familiar to some folk in the Shattered Hills. He elbowed Akuma sharply, shooting him a glare that could pierce even the Gentleman's armor. Under his breath, he said sternly to the berserker, "Do not tell anyone why we are here! The Shattered Hills, despite its beauty, is one of the most dangerous continents in all of Graterras. Let someone who has lived here for many years make our introduction," He looked at the dockworker and shook his head, gesturing to the birdman. "My apologies for our friend here. He is simply a bit overzealous to be off the ship, as we all are. I know that I, for one, am happy to be home." He paused for effect, giving the man time to think through the sorcerer's apology. "I am Drug'thok Grunara, a traveling sorcerer of these lands. I am deeply troubled to hear of the problems your town has had with the wild orcs and goblins of late. Usually they are not so aggressive at this time of year. Who can best tell us more about that problem? It seems like my sort of business," the half-Orc said with a disarming chuckle, hoping to win the dockworker over.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Jacob excitedly approached Devin again, full of questions for the renowned trainer. Ever since he was small, Jacob's dream had been to become someone just like Devin. Well, at least with a little more variety, he thought to himself, looking cautiously at the Hydreigon. One Dragon is enough for me, he noted, looking down at Trapinch. When he reached the Dragon master, Jacob's heart began to beat faster. "Professor Cadmus, sir, do you have any advice for me for training Teo into a Flygon? And how long do you think it'll be until he evolves into Vibrava?" he asked quickly, looking up at the imposing man. -

Jacob listened in shocked silence. He had never even considered the remote possibility that Pokemon poachers would be active in a place like Ymora. I guess even safe places have their issues sometimes, he thought to himself, careful not to disturb the people around him. He looked down at Teo and patted the Trapinch's head, putting the nervous Pokemon at ease. If I ever saw someone hurting a Pokemon like that I don't think I'd show any mercy, the young Trainer resolved, looking up at Devin. So he really is worthy of my admiration. I want to learn everything I can from him, he continued, smiling to himself. With a teacher like him, we'll never lose! -

Jacob grinned sheepishly as the others recounted their versions of the tale. You know, I really didn't feel like I was in that much danger... he thought to himself, rolling his eyes at Henry's abrasive descriptions of the events. Upon hearing everyone else's responses, the young Trainer shrugged and smiled, calling out Teo and scooping the Trapinch up into his arms. "I'm not even mad. I finally got to see two high-powered Dragons going at each other, and although the reasons weren't right I think I learned a lot from it. There's no way Teo'll be able to hang with those things' power. He'll have to focus on speed, right buddy?" Jacob asked his Pokemon, who gurgled affirmatively in response. -
Hey guys, just here to say that over at Cerise we care more about being fabulous than anything else. Also known as "we're not traitorous scumbags."

Today Nigeria was declared Ebola-free by the WHO. If Nigeria can do it, we'll be fine. Case closed, hooray science! Looks like all the politicians feeding on the fear of that horrible disease will be forced to twist other things into the proper shape for forcing down someone's throat.

Is anyone else planning on using Charizard? I know a lot of people wanted to use Sceptile, so I opted for my second favorite starter. Just out of curiosity, what are all of your favorite starters? Mine are: 1. Treecko 2. Charmander 3. Turtwig

Jacob followed Danielle over to Henry and the Tyrantrum, thinking about what Danielle had said about using Dig to get the others out of the hole. I think a hole that big that shallow might collapse, but if Teo were to just dig a little crevasse they could walk underneath Hydreigon's line of fire, he thought to himself, remaining silent to hear what Danielle had to say. -

I'd be more active if I could get some responses out of rustytengo. As of now I'm just gonna bunny him as tagging along with Lux. Hopefully that should speed up our part. -
Jory stepped forward and wordlessly took the pack and rifle, giving a nod of acknowledgement to his CO. Over the past three months, all his GAOs had grown significantly stronger. In fact, Jory was relatively sure that he could battle Clint, who was a fearsome opponent, to a standstill. It was incredible the way Jory's GAOs were beginning to change him. No longer was he a hesitant young man who wanted nothing more than to be friends with his GAOs. After seeing Sampson hurt, Jory had resolved to become as strong as possible to protect his squad and his GAOs.

Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Jacob peered over the rock, stifling a gasp of horror as he realized the Hydreigon was almost directly in front of him with its back turned. This was a bad idea, he thought to himself. Maybe I can get out of here while it's distracted, though. Jacob looked over the rock again. Salamence seemed to have maneuvered the Hydreigon into that position specifically to give him and the students in the hole enough time to run. It's now or never, he thought, praying to Arceus that he would be able to make it out alive. With that and his newfound resolve, Jacob pushed off the rock and sprinted with his head down away from the Dragons and toward the hole. He stopped briefly at the top of the hole, only long enough to hiss, "Danielle, run!" at his friend before resuming his fast exit, getting behind another rock that was substantially furher back from the other one in order to continue watching the battle and see what happened to the other students.
