Priority always has been and always will be Gengar's weakness. But with Gengar's speed those Pokemon that DON'T have priority are the best targets. As with every technique, you can't go blindly perish trapping random Pokemon since you'll get ruined by Taunt.

Specially defensive Scizor, existing on the team for the sole purpose of Defog, seems kind of pointless. It may have one weakness, but there's a number of other Pokemon that does the defensive Defog ordeal better. Also I'm against Breloom lead as well. Leads benefit from being unpredictable. That is what Breloom isn't. "Oh, a Breloom. I'll toss out Skarmory to take that Spore and send Infernape right back out once that's taken care of." U-turn will sabotage your strat here quite easily.

Rejected Gengar (M) @ Gengarite Trait: Shadow Tag EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Shadow Ball - Perish Song - Substitute - Protect / Embargo Pimp-slap stall teams with the purple power: Mega Gengar. In a meta where stall is very present, this pimp can slap any staller or walls that look to make your day miserable. Let's see Tenshi try to grind this Pokemon down... Anyway, the main thing to this set is Perish Song and Shadow Tag. They synergizes perfectly, preventing Pokemon from switching as they are forced to await inevitable doom. Once that's done, it's time to wait out. You can do this by setting up a Substitute and laughing as the helpless little things desperately scramble before they fall. Shadow Ball can help move that process along. Protect combined with Substitute is an almost-guaranteed survival of their pathetic efforts to kill you, but Embargo is hilarious since it nullifies Shed Shell. Lastly, this set, as with all frail stallers, does best with Wish support since the opponent hitting back is inevitable, and that move helps your vicious cycle continue.

More than one Pokemon has to be able to answer to it in order for it to be considered okay for OU; but that's generally a rule of thumb. For example, just because Stunfisk can hold its own against Ho-Oh does not mean that Ho-Oh deserves a shot below Ubers; it can still put a world of hurt on the other five Pokemon. Mega Blaziken is pretty bad for a mega Evo tbh so I don't see the point in its ban. Fire-fighting is decent coverage at best and will get sponged by moms like Tentacruel and Latias. It did get more favorable with the removal of the machine of OP that was Kingdra, but still not enough to warrant getting the boot. EDIT: yeah I'm slowly creeping off the Ban Mega Gengar bandwagon. It may have the speed of Jolteon but 60 HP base sucks no matter how you spin it. It will still get wrecked by priority moves, which are what's strong right now in the 6th gen meta, particularly Reborn's.

Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X Trait: Tough Claws EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Flare Blitz - Dragon Claw - Earthquake / Dragon Dance - Roost / Dragon Dance This is what happens when Charizard gives into public pressure of many people confusing him for a dragon. He goes nuts and becomes wholeheartedly badass. Though wielding ideal stats for a mixed attacker, it's Mega Charizard X's ability Tough Claws that decides which side of the spectrum it needs to swing on. It boosts the power of contact moves, so here's a set designed to use that ability to its fullest extent. Flare Blitz hits like a truck. Imagine if you had sunlight support for this thing...meanwhile Dragon Claw provides his other STAB move that isn't as risky. From here you can swing a few ways. Choose between Earthquake to round out your coverage, Roost to mitigate damage from both the enemy and yourself, and Dragon Dance to hit harder and faster. That last one is a terrifying thought. I mean, just look at Mega Charizard X...
