  1. >Ike's fire still isn't blue MAN HE'S NOT THE HERO OF THE BLUE FLAMES FOR NOTHING, NINTENDO >:C The Rocket Pack looks cool but how long does it last?
  2. uh huh, leave out all the times I consistently wrecked you, right? th-that won't be necessary!!
  3. The look on your face is unhappy.

  4. everyone be nice okay <3 i'm watching all of you.
  5. I feel like if anything did that it would probably be Defog, but I'm not sure how that could be justified in-universe
  6. On that note- I have no idea who Celica is in-universe tbh but I saw her Awakening art and from that alone she's one of my favorites As much as I liked Roy I agree; his time passed (and his respective game wasn't even localised) so there's really no reason for him to come back. As for the first two points honestly even that would be okay with me, I guess. It just confuses me that they haven't represented Awakening at all when it's probably the best FE game yet, and instead re-confirm a character that had nothing to write home about competitively... I guess I should withhold that sort of comment until we see what sort of... pacing, I suppose is a good term, the game has overall. If everything is made faster like Melee (or at least relative to Brawl) and he's kept slow as he was, he's going to get absolutely demolished.
  7. and now for something completely different
  8. I mained Roy and Mewtwo in Melee I know the argument you're going to present and personal preference should probably be seperate from arguments about effectiveness. He's not terrible but his best matchup was 65% in his favor against Ganondorf, with barely 30-40% against higher tier characters. He was super slow and it was a terrible representation of how good he was in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Regardless of tiering and effectiveness though I'm mostly upset that they brought back a character from a pair of games that's nearly impossible to come across nowadays (Radiant Dawn is still $70 at best on Amazon, USED) and then pointed people to the Awakening site to learn more about him. Marth as a recurring character I get- main character of the very first game (and a few afterward) and probably the most well known face in the series. But I'm not even bothered about Ike, I'm bothered about the implications of his confirmation. As I mentioned above it's obviously not for marketing or anything, so I don't understand why they wouldn't have just brought in one of the main characters from their most successful game to date- unless they still intend to as Wolf says, but I won't hold my breath. tl;dr Ike is fine I'm just disappointed that it wasn't Chrom or Lucina
  9. They removed that <League> V safety net last I checked; you can drop entire leagues now, so that 0 LP 5th division bit is irrelevant anyway. Remember kids late game it doesn't matter who's fed- never give up also dat glass cannon build
  10. Speaking purely out of theory here since that's the best I usually can do- with the changes to Infiltrator and certain attacks being able to go through Substitute in general, I think Baton Pass is less overwhelming than it used to be; I took a look at Slant's RMT and he does list some clear counters, 3/4 of which aren't particularly situational I don't think (although Haze is still debatable), and you brought up Heatran which inherently has the ability to completely wall Talonflame (admittedly might be dropping in usage already, idk)... On the topic of Heatran, actually, is Torment blocked by Substitute, and does the effect stay through Baton Pass? I think it would slow down boosting considerably if it's used early enough... Of course, that's the 4th gen in me speaking, and I'm not sure how usable that set is now. Perhaps Mold Breaker Taunt from Haxorus or Mega Gyarados? From what I heard from Roo Kyurem-B is a relatively high-viability threat as well, and as far as I know it's basically destroyer of stall. Again, though, this is all mostly theory since I don't play much myself, much less against Baton Pass. I guess in the end it still comes down to "do you have x counter to baton pass because if not you lose." As for Swagger I'm fine with that going (and in fact I expected a topic about it (and Blaziken) sooner) although maybe a little more specifically; perhaps Prankster+Swagger or Swagger+Foul Play or all three together? I know how much everyone loves that whole Swagplay thing (lookin' at you, Xiph) so mmmmmmmaybe Swagger alone can stay or something idk. After the evasion ordeal I do agree that anything this luck-based is probably not a good thing to keep around, regardless of the equal chance of it backfiring on the user, considering nothing with Own Tempo is particularly usable aside from Slowbro/king, both of which would much rather have Regenerator. It's interesting how this is a thing now, though, when nobody batted an eye at Liepard in 5th gen. I guess Klefki's better typing made it more obvious. I talk a lot for how non-competitive I usually am, sorry >>

  12. i'm not grumble grumble Hopefully they do SOMETHING to make him any better than he was in Brawl, at least
  13. If I don't have to do it, I won't. If I do have to do it, I'll make it quick.

  14. he could have quoted something much worse.
  15. Justice guides us.

  16. I sure hate to be that guy but I mean the only common factor here is that you both lost playing Teemo; it can be safely assumed your choice in champion is directly responsible for your defeats.
  17. Mew was "implemented" purely because it was impossible to get to and I take full responsibility for that ;_;
  18. fixed. again.

  19. the muramana trinity force deathcap nidalee though
  20. From what I gather that's basically all it is- making it "less crazy." Were it based purely on win rate, leaders would be all over the place and we'd have a new champion(s) every month; there would be a lot of people screwed out of battles by sudden jumps or drops, and the leaders higher up that battle like 2-3 times a week would have skewed win/loss ratios and be unfairly ranked. In that sense, Kyra's got the right idea, I think
  21. Assuming this isn't completely serious, but to be fair the rankshifts have always been stacked solely to keep the champion(s) up, if you're going to word it like that. In previous seasons with only one champion it was statistically impossible for the champion to drop from that spot. (Okay, not impossible, but, they-would-have-to-lose-basically-every-battle-for-a-month unlikely) Amaria explicitly said once that she avoided triples in the past because challengers didn't like it, but I guess that went out the window with X-League last season Hardy and Titania for champion block, the rivalry will be here
  22. Okay, mysterious shadow thief, I've humored you long enough.
