"I suppose I can sympathize with that. I was never the biggest fan of how things were run, but I put up with it until..." he looked pained for a second but shook himself out of it after a few moments. "Well, that's not important. If it's money you want, I'm sure we can work something out. My company and I are getting paid quite handsomely for this job, and payment is individual." he purposefully failed to mention that this "company" only included himself and Lotus. Looking down at the battlefield again, he added. "Your current employers aren't going to be alive to pay you by the end of this a- 181 replies

The red-haired black ant seemed particularly interesting. Corporal Dart, was it? Recorder knew that her- that the expedition's survival was much more important than the enemy's, and that woman was clearly a very dangerous warrior; she knew this when she threw her chakram... but still, it would have been nice to be able to put down more than her name and face. And then, suddenly, one of the enemy commanders began hero-worshiping one of the delegation members. Recorder immediately felt like she needed to act fast, but... perhaps the mercenary in question had the situation handled better.

"Aw naw naw naw man, it's not about their cause. I don't really care about that all that much - I'm just here 'cause they've got the money and they're kinda far out from the Domains." "You see... I just wanted out, it was awful back there in the Domains. Everything was so damned rigid, so locked in officers and hierarchies and all that... wasn't room to breathe! I wasn't really sure what to do, but then you left and became a mercenary, and I realized... well, hey, maybe I can manage that too! And, so, eheh, well, here we are."- 181 replies

Eyes shut, Secludie quivered- "Ahhhhhh-" One eye cracked open. "Ahh...?" "Eh? I got him...?" Somewhat nonplussed, she straightened up. "Oh. I- I didn't really expect t-that to work." Looking at the downed Harefoot, she nervously pointed a finger. "U-um. Shouldn't one of us h-help him?"- 181 replies

Mim to K-21, training bow Shaman D to D(eath) As her arrow sunk into the shaman's body, she pointed towards the woman in armor who had swung at Arthur after almost despondently talking about a life lived. "This doesn't have to be the end of your life, you know. Or any of your lives." She paused, looking at the body of the shaman... "Well, any more of your lives. The point is... Put down your weapons. Leave now. Or join us. We have the prince of this country on our side. He's been abandoned by his father for no reason. Tossed into a foreign jail by your commander. A

The butler grumbles before clicking his tongue, straightening his posture and turning his head slightly angled downward. "Yea yea, I get it... Fine, whatever." He was grinding the front of his right foot into the ground, before heading to the now opened front door, "Lets just move on. Phoenix, Golden Eye get close so I can fix you both up." "Look here— Don't yell at Snowbird, yell at the bastard who's..." Arthur was having some trouble keeping it together— it was obvious that he was seething with rage and trying not to explode onto Baldur and make the situation worse. He groaned as he forced himself to look away, then to Godiva. He takes a deep breath— Kane is still watching her carefully, but is now lowering his guard a bit. "Okay. How about I just watch her and you focus on keeping the group from exploding like a volatile bomb?" Kane paused for a moment, nodding. "Alright. She's fortunate we need a

With the floating eye gone, Godiva turned her head back, casting a sad gaze back at the castle and those inside before steeling herself once again, turning back to Virtuous, "I know it might seem fairly hypocritical considering my earlier actions, but I would like to lend a hand in assistance. I figure we can discuss things later, but I also figure that you may need a bit of help getting to the General. Who I presume you're here for."

"Oh... Shut up Baldur. Just shut the fuck up. It... It was meant to confuse him, distract him. Make him focus on other things and maybe make him mad. Because if you let your emotions control you on the battlefield, your opponent is already winning. Kinda like you are right now. Maybe it didn't work but you can just fuck right off and keep your opinions to yourself."

Purple hair huh? Was the general referring to Baldur or Shin? Not that the butler really cared either way, one of them was going to be lying in the dirt when this is all over so why bother trying to figure anything out. However, Baldur had to take a step back after witnessing what just transpired. "I.. wha-..." This was then followed by a stomp forward and vigorously swung his arms back in anger, "Are you kidding me right now!? Now is NOT the time to be swapping spit! What are you even hoping to accomplish with this show!? Show everyone that you two are a thing now!? Honestly, focus more on NO

The eye simply continued to watch with a steely gaze, listening to the taunts that Justine and Mim had provided for him with silence. Occasionally, the eye would drift its attention to Baldur, but not for very long. It definitely watched, however, when Mim gave Arthur a kiss. The eye remained with an unflinching expression— Arthur had quickly forgotten about his own agony to completely stiffen up and go into that typical flustered Arthur demeanor. "Dh— I— Hey—" The eye does briefly twitch and recoil as Mim fires an arrow into it, a brief look of annoyance in the ey

"... So it's as I feared..." Barely audible from the young noble, Godiva narrowed her eyes casting them down as she took in the news. The King, her own uncle, had ordered her cousin, his own son for that matter and Prince, to be held captive outside of the kingdom. She knew her uncle had done plenty of questionable things, but as a distant member of the royal family, she had tried to keep an optimistic demeanor and keep helping those she could. But to imprison their own son under the guise of them being kidnapped? For her, that was an act that crossed the line. Godiva,

Ebon sat upon Blackwing silently as the other mantis approached him, and listened to what he had to say. To tell the truth, he did remember the old name, but not the face. Either way, this Freely didn't seem more than Lotus's age. "Inspiration....?" he asked, a bit off guard. Now THAT was something he had never heard before. "Listen kid,..I'm only doing this because I have to. There's nothing to be inspired by or proud about in taking lives. If I had to guess, the people here have their own problems, too." he grimaced and shook his head. "I'm not going to tell you to go back home- 181 replies

"I would rather be the most common of wenches in the seediest of Rian taverns than be a slime bellied coward who simply follows the weak and petty wills of a tyrant king. You aren't even worth killing, but we'll do it anyways to send a message to that failure of a father that we're coming for him next. Fuckface is too nice for you even. I'm bored of this conversation and bored of you. Maybe we'll let you go back to your master just so you can tell him about this." "Men 'just following orders' have caused more suffering than famine and plague in the world." Justine readied her blade with a flourish, the steel catching the light just so. "Crimson, Mink, Orchid, I believe it's time we bring another one of those to justice."

No one can really tell what General Siegmund is thinking— after all, all that you can see of him is an eye looking over you all. The eye simply watches over Mim, squinting slightly at her proposition. "Hmph... You could at least pretend that you didn't just crawl out of a Rian barfight—" His cold response is cut off once Baldur speaks. The eye turns to him, drifting onto him and continuing to squint... "Purple hair..." If not for the echoing, there's no way you would have heard his whisper. However... ...Whatever he might be thinking afterwards, he keeps t

Initially, upon hearing the General's voice, Godiva turned her head back into the fort, a confused expression on her face as she processed where the voice was coming from, before ultimately moving slightly outside of the doorway, looking up to spot the speaking eye was positioned, "Hold on... Siegmund, you mean to say that you were behind my Cousin's disappearance? And that you entrusted his imprisonment to the same kingdom that we're at war with?"

"You wretch! Have you no honor OR loyalty? Selling out your prince for what? Gold? Fame? Position? Detestable!" Baldur glared through his mask towards the floating eye only to be a bit... confused...? Yea we'll go with that, confused at Mim's little speech. It honestly made him snicker a bit, "Fuckface huh? Not the most refined of insults but I suppose for a rat like him it should suffice. Maybe when we're through here they'll rename this place Fort Fuckface. After the worthless general who, even with his wealth of power, couldn't stop a 'rag-tag group' from kicking hiss ass." He starts rubbin

Mim looked up at the eye. So this man was the reason that Crimson had been locked up. On the one hand, she almost wanted to thank him. If it hadn't been for him, she probably would have never met Crimson. On the other hand... Moving deliberately into the view of the eye, she made a universally recognized rude gesture and then cheerily yelled out, "Hey, fuckface, we weren't going anywhere. You're not going to stop us, I promise you that. Oh, and I have about ten arrows here with your name on them, just as a little thank you present for making it so Crimson here got to be a part

"Orchid, for fuck's sake, this is my—" Arthur was cut off by Godiva's interruption. He briefly looked as if he was confused, but simply looked away. His face quickly turned to concern underneath his mask. "Hold it, don't think you're getting away that—" Just before Kane could finish his threat, an echo of high-pitched sound reverberated above the group for a moment. From there, an eye had surfaced above the group... a voice speaking from it. "What—!?" "Color me surprised," the voice of General Siegmund spoke throughout the group from the eye. "To

Flicking her gaze back and forth between speakers, Godiva quickly caught on to what they were implying, just before the purple haired man cleared things up for her, "What identity? I don't know anyone's identity, no sir. He just sounded like someone I knew, but it's clear that they aren't related in any way, yep. And unfortunately I don't think you were at all out of the fort's notice. General Siegmund could hear you from beyond the main hall" Godiva replied reigning her mount back and slowly backing into the fort once again. As excited as she was to finally see her long lost

"Look, we don't have time to be bickering. If you haven't noticed we just got the attention of THE ENTIRE FUCKING FORT. Let's just knock her out here and have someone drag her to Anvil. We can deal with this moral dilemma after the threat of death isn't looming over us."
